The holiday bungalow is located in an exclusive residential area below the village of Caniço, right on the Atlantic Ocean. Lido-Galomar is open all year round, with free entry one hour before closing and during winter. There are also plenty of sea access points nearby. The elevator to the sea bath is directly opposite, a bus stop is nearby, and for your hunger, there is a mini-market, a bakery, and several restaurants within walking distance.
The cozy living room with its elegant mahogany parquet flooring has a seating area by the fireplace, a dining area, and a pull-out sofa bed. There is a 2-bed (each 1X2m) bedroom with a spacious wall closet. The kitchen (with gas stove, microwave/grill, and fridge/freezer combination) and bathroom (shower/tub) are fully equipped, including a washing machine. The fantastic, 20 m² terrace on the south side with a rainproof pergola and an outdoor fireplace is secluded, overlooks the garden and sea views through the palms, and is furnished for your breakfast in the morning sun, for sunbathing and for barbecuing in the evening. There is DELIBERATELY NO television. Smoking allowed on the terrace.
Booking is exclusively through contact with the landlord and payment on site/by transfer to the administration.

What a disappointment
A very tired property, cluttered cupboards.
No information about the house - bins/washing machine instructions etc.
I couldn't get the washing machine to work.
I used the fridge but didn't use any cooking facilities.
Broken chairs on terrace.
Broken steps in garden.
Not the cleanest property I've stayed in.
Advertised as having wifi but it required a visit to Caniço with the router to activate this at your own cost. I couldn't even find the router.
The only positive thing was location.

I am sorry you didn't like our house for your short stay. The lecture of the description for hosts and the renting conditions you received before renting, could have avoided your disappointment. Perhaps a hotel-room incl. a 24h/7d service would have been more expensive but better for you.
Im Einzelnen: Küche incl. Inventar erneuert 2024, Gästeinfo dreisprachig in Mappe auf Sideboard, Waschmaschinen Anleitung hängt im Spiegelschrank im Bad und den Wasserhahn findet man am Beginn des Schlauches hinter der Maschine. Der Router ist ein SIM Router ca. 1/3 Größe von Händi, vermutlich nicht erkannt. Die Gartentreppe Rg. Meer ist aus Bruchsteinplatten, der Haupteingang hinterm Haus hat Betontreppe. Die kaputten Teakholzstühle kann ich mir nicht erklären, da muss ich bei der Verwaltung nachfragen.

Pure Madeira!
We have been happily traveling to Canico de Baixo in Madeira for years, and this time we were guests at Casa R45 for the first time. This beautiful house with charm offers everything for a relaxing vacation and is pure Madeira! The house is very lovingly and personally decorated and breathes the soul of Madeira. We love it very much and felt very comfortable there, surrounded by the great nature. The quiet location is excellent and perfectly suited as a starting point for wonderful tours on the island. In the village, there are beautiful restaurants, and it takes five minutes to swim in the Atlantic. A wonderful place for those who know Madeira and for those who want to become acquainted with it. We are very happy to come back to this beautiful house.

House with deficiencies
In October 23, we had rented the Casa for three weeks. Unfortunately, Casa R 45 is already very old and not in a well-maintained and clean condition. The kitchen is very worn out and the pots and pans are almost sticking! The bathroom has also seen better days! We left Casa R45 after a week because ants were appearing in every room from many cracks, even in the wardrobe, despite storing all food in the refrigerator! The garden was neglected, and we had to clear the "dream terrace" ourselves! Unfortunately, we encountered a lot of incomprehension from the landlords. If one then compares the price with the condition and cleanliness, and what is not included in the price, and takes into account the quite high final cleaning, it is not cheap at all!

Die "Mängelliste" ging schon zu Anfang des Aufenthaltes mit einer Nachlassforderung ein. Wir haben die Beschwerden ernst genommen, und obwohl jemand kommen wollte, um sich der Sache anzunehmen (Gäste waren beim Wandern und vertrösteten die Verwaltung auf morgen), konnten die Gäste, ohne die vereinbarte Stornogebühr zu zahlen, das Haus umgehend mit Erstattung der nicht dort verbrachten Mietdauer verlassen.
Die Putzfrauen hatten im Übrigen vor diesen Gästen keine Ameisen vorgefunden und 2 Wochen nach Auszug waren auch keine mehr da. Eine Miteigentümerin hat am 10.11.23 auch keine vorgefunden. Ich bin seit Anfang Dezember hier und verwahre mein Knusper-Müsli im Kühlschrank ansonsten keine Ameisen....
Madeira ist eine subtropische Insel mit reichlich natürlich vorkommendem "Un"geziefer. Das Haus liegt nur hinten ebenerdig und der Garten ist dort mit einer Mauer begrenzt. Ameisen sind laut Entschädigungstabellen kein Mangel sondern eine Unannehmlichkeit. Wir haben übrigens auch einen "Hausgecko" Fotos folgen
Bei den "alten Möbeln" handelt es sich zum Teil um alte und vor allem massive Antiquitäten. Der Tisch ist z.B ein umgebautes 200 Jahre altes Fenster. Eine neue Küche wird im Dezember eingebaut. Die alte Küche und die Möbel sind in den Fotos klar und deutlich zu sehen.
Dass der Gärtner vor diesen Gästen nicht da war, war ein Kommunikationsfehler unsererseits, wobei ausdrücklich der Garten lt. Mietbedingungen nicht für die Gäste geeignet ist, dieser ist mit den Agaven und anderen Pflanzen schön, aber auch gefährlich ist.
Mit 12 qm ist die Terrasse groß genug, um die über die Mauer wachsenden Pflanzen zu tolerieren. Rechts eine Lonicera auf der Mauer (siehe Fotos) und auf der anderen Seite eine Bougainvilea an der Pergola.

Holiday despite Corona
Two of us stayed in your house and we felt very comfortable there, especially in Corona times.
The house is comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need for a holiday. Since the weather was wonderful and the temperatures allowed it, we spent most of our time on your spacious terrace, where you can sunbathe as well as shelter from the sun and rain.
We also enjoyed the proximity to the bus stop, the bakery and several restaurants. The "green" that one can enjoy in your garden, as well as on the whole island in December / January, is indescribable.
We will come back again.

Pleasant stay
The holiday home is in a quiet location and we felt very comfortable. There is everything you need in terms of equipment. Some of the furniture is older, but in good order. Please note that the Wi-Fi is not free of charge. You have to buy a card for 15 EUR in Canico. Handing over the keys and paying the rent went smoothly. A nice stay.

Wir haben im Laufe des Jahres den Anbieter des Routers gewechselt, wir haben gerade bei NOS in Canico 40€ für 6 Wochen bezahlt und das Internet funktioniert jetzt hervorragend, auch zum Arbeiten. Leider kann dieser Tarif nicht aus Deutschland bezahlt werden, sonst würden wir das gerne anbieten.
