The house was newly built in 2005 on the foundation walls of an old thatched roof map. It has a modern and very well equipped 32 m² kitchen-living room with underfloor heating, and a cosy sitting area with satellite TV. The large bathroom with shower and bathtub also has underfloor heating. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a double bed, and upstairs there is a large bedroom with a double bed, and a smaller room with a French bed (140 wide) and a 140 cm cot. ( A travel cot is also available if needed. )
There are picture books to browse through, a well-stocked info box with flyers and excursion tips, and there is a selection of novels and children's books. Board games for big and small guests and selected toys for the little ones. In the adjoining shed there is a sandpit, a barbecue, and I am happy to provide a men's and a women's bicycle if required.
On the large property there are swings and paths to explore for the little ones and a large terrace and secluded spots for the grown-ups. There is the possibility to make a small campfire, and plenty of space to run around.

The house is located near Tönning, close to the Eider. St. Peter-Ording, Husum, Büsum and Meldorf can be reached in 30 minutes. It is 3 min. from the Hemme exit on the B5 (extension of the A23 ). As the house is located outside, a car is necessary.
With the available bikes you can easily reach the natural bathing place in Wollersum at the Eider, or the FFH area Mötjenpolder, where you can observe impressive flocks of starlings in late summer. The property is nestled between meadows, cabbage and grain fields.

The house is situated on a beautiful property with old trees. It is very close to nature with insect-friendly plants and in summer you can observe various butterflies, bumblebees, etc. There are pheasants, rabbits and deer on the property. Pheasants, rabbits and deer live on the property and sheep run on the meadow in front of the house. Besides fruit trees and a berry fruit snack corner, a herb garden invites you to help yourself all year round.
Since it is situated between the Eider estuary and the Mötjenpolder nature reserve, you can witness the impressive bird migration in autumn.
The immediate surroundings of the house are excellent for tours by bike.

Clear recommendation for...
. . . people who are looking for a spacious accommodation for larger families or multiple travelers and who seek seclusion while spending the best time of the year in the middle of one of the most beautiful holiday regions in Germany with various tourist destinations.
Very friendly landlady, great and complete amenities for families with children of different ages. The fire pit with a view of cabbage heads, hedgehogs, field hares, and deer is also great. . . Sandbox, game cabinet, selection of books and magazines.
It is recommended, in rainy weather, alongside the well-known tourist attractions in Tönning, St. Peter-Ording, Büsum, Husum, Friedrichstadt, Albersdorf, the Lunten local museum in the former elementary school.
Criticism regarding the noise from wind turbines and the little-used former federal highway cannot be understood. And that a tractor passes by during harvest time... How else do the potatoes and bread get on the table?!
Local supply can be reached in 15-20 minutes by bike. A wide selection of supermarkets and discounters can be found a bit further away (15 minutes by car).

Summer vacation Sparrow's Nest
We spent a week at the Sparrow's Nest and were thrilled. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything one needs, even fresh breakfast eggs from the farmer awaited us upon our arrival. Plenty of space and a garden where one can enjoy heavenly peace. And if the weather doesn't cooperate, there are enough books and board games in the house. Many excursion destinations are reachable by car in a short time. We will gladly come back.

Pure relaxation
We as a family felt very comfortable in the "Spatzennest". The children enjoyed riding their bikes through the fields. After excursions in the surrounding area, you could relax very well on the terrace and enjoy the peace and quiet. Thank you very much!

Almost like at home, only on vacation!
Beautiful little house with a garden to dream in. Watching rabbits and pheasants from the breakfast table. Everything you need is there. Thank you very much, it was very nice.

I don't even know where to start: The house is in a super quiet location away from the tourist crowds and yet conveniently situated for trips to the North Sea or inland, simply ideal for unwinding with the large terrace and the super-beautiful, well-kept garden. Just sit on the terrace and watch the birds ...
The furnishings leave nothing to be desired. The communication with the landlady was very smooth, even though the booking was made at short notice. Even the weather played along, we are just thrilled!
