The tiled ground floor is open plan, except for the bathroom. Underfloor heating (ground floor) and a wood-burning stove provide cosy warmth. A wide, comfortable sitting area, home cinema system, Blue-ray player, WLAN, a radio-CD recorder, various games and books for young and old let you forget rainy days.
For your children, we are happy to provide various toys, books and painting utensils (please let us know the age of the children)
The modern fitted kitchen has a worktop height of 91cm (... which we think is important to mention). Oven, ceramic hob, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, dishwasher are available. Dishtowel and towel included.
In the bathroom you will find a ground-level shower, WC, washbasin, towel dryer (heating), underfloor heating. A washing machine and a hairdryer are at your disposal. We provide three towels of different sizes per person. On request you can also get a sauna towel per person (incl.) ... just ask.
On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. We provide one set of bed linen per person. Wardrobe, wardrobe, shelves and several chests of drawers offer enough space for your personal things. We will be happy to prepare the bedroom with the single beds for you in a child-friendly way (books, games, ...), just let us know the age of your children.
Let your gaze wander over wide meadows and spend cosy evenings on the partially covered south-facing terrace. Here you have a terrace fireplace at your disposal, in which you can make a fire or prepare sausages or steaks (on a large, swivelling grill or steak pan). Open a barrel - use the barrel sauna at the house. A sauna towel/person and aromatic additives for infusions are of course available. After sweating, enjoy the outdoor shower (as long as there is no frost). In the high season, a beach chair is available for you to loll around in.
Children can use our trampoline; we are also happy to provide a bobby car, a running bike and who knows what else free of charge (please ask).
In spring and autumn you can watch the crane migration for a few weeks at a time. calling "longingly", the animals fly low over the property in the morning and evening (from or to their roosts). If you are lucky, you will see the local pheasant family, hedgehogs, roe deer and fallow deer, foxes and hares, herons, wild geese, cormorants, kites and ospreys, in winter also whooper swans. In early autumn you may hear the stags rutting from the forest near Glowe, and if you are an early riser and are smart about it, they will sneak up on this spectacle.
In winter you can enjoy the silence by the fireplace, trudge along the Bodden through the snow or even - if there is finally enough - over the ice (... which you should of course do with appropriate caution). If you need a sledge ... Your children will certainly agree with ours (about the only one available). If you have forgotten your literature and board games; A smorgasbord of books and games is ready for you, and we hope there is something for you.
Incidentally, there are several pictures on the walls with regional motifs by the Zierow painter Rosemarie Hoffmann ...... and should you discover one that you particularly like, please let us know ...

Location and surroundings of object
Polchow is an old fishing village belonging to the municipality of Glowe on the Jasmund peninsula of the island of Rügen, Germany's largest and probably most scenically diverse island.
The property is located on the southern edge of Polchow and about only 150m from the Great Jasmund Bodden, which can be reached via a small diversions. For the duration of your holiday, you will have access to just under half of the 1400m² property, on which our residential house is also located.
Here is an Eldorado for hiking, cycling, surfing, kiting, paddling, motorboating, sailing, fishing, looking through binoculars, possibly photographing nature lovers; for the burnt-out of all kinds, for the noisy and the rushed, .... (... who have you forgotten?).
With the holiday home "Blaue Pause", completed in 2016, a Norwegian wooden house awaits you in a very quiet south-facing location with a view of the Great Jasmund Bodden. The charming area borders directly on the Spyckerscher See and Mittelsee nature reserves.
To the extensive Baltic Sea beach between Glowe and Cape Arkona - a "must" for followers of the free-form and other cultures - you need 15 minutes by car or about 30 minutes by bike through meadows and woods. A bathing area on the Großer Jasmunder Bodden, which can be reached on foot in about 5 minutes, is good for a quick cool-down.
The Jasmund National Park (chalk cliffs, Königsstuhl) and the historic Prora (former KdF home) are about 15 minutes away by car. The Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek is only 15 minutes away by car. If you want to visit one of the performances there, it is recommended to book early.
To the property:
Due to the peripheral location, you have a wide view over meadows, reeds and trees towards the south, where the terrace also opens up.
To the west, only about 150 m away, you can see the Great Jasmund Bodden. In about 5 minutes you can reach a small beach on the Bodden, in the romantic, former harbour of Polchow.
In an easterly direction (i.e. towards the centre of the village) you will see our wooden house hidden behind a walnut tree and 5m high bamboo, only about 30m away, so that you will hardly feel oppressed by the proximity of buildings.
Good supply possibilities in the nearby neighbouring village. Optimal starting point for excursions to explore the island of Rügen.

A great break from everyday life
A beautiful house with very good new furnishings in a pleasantly quiet location. We felt very comfortable, the house is at the end of a residential street, so no one passes by. Except in the evening, when a few deer or sheep came by on the adjacent property for "dinner", wonderful. And we used the excellent barbecue almost every day and spent the evenings on the terrace.
The communication in advance was very nice and binding. Also the cancellation conditions in case of a Covid-19 conditional no-show are very accommodating and were clearly communicated

Super nice to feel good, relax, unwind ...
Where do I start? The house has everything you need. It is beautifully furnished, totally clean and tidy. There was absolutely nothing to complain about! We immediately felt at home. We were greeted nicely and could always talk to the lovely family. The previous email contact was also excellent. The terrace was really inviting to relax. (The neighbors were also very friendly!) We would love to come back and have already booked for next year :).
