Description
In the spacious living/dining room with a cozy seating area, you will find a large LCD television, Blu-ray DVD player, and stereo system. Here in the living room, 2 people can sleep on the sofa bed with its own cold foam mattress. The dining area is equipped with comfortable cantilever chairs for 6 people. From the living room, there is direct access to the northwest-facing balcony with a sea view over the trees to the North Sea. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stove with ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle, egg cooker, cutlery and dishes and glasses for 6 people, as well as pots, pans, and everything you need for cooking.
The bedroom with a 1m wide entrance door contains a comfort-height double bed with 2 separate mattresses, a spacious built-in wardrobe, and a flat-screen TV. Our holiday apartment is also suitable for our youngest guests. A baby travel cot and high chair are available in the apartment.
The bathroom on the lower floor features a walk-in shower with a wide all-glass door, a shower seat with 2 handrails, a washbasin (with a shortened siphon suitable for wheelchair access), and a toilet. A hairdryer is also provided.
The lower floor of our maisonette holiday apartment is thus largely barrier-free.
The upper floor offers another bedroom, bathroom, and storage room. Through the panoramic roof window you can enjoy a fantastic view (over the trees) of the North Sea.
The bathroom on the upper floor has an exterior window with (limited) sea view. It is equipped with a toilet, shower, and bathtub, so that even at full occupancy of the apartment there are no bottlenecks here.
The wellness area with sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, and swimming pool is available to our guests free of charge during your holiday in our holiday apartments in Cuxhaven-Duhnen. (Due to maintenance work, the leisure area is usually closed in January.)
And the best for last: During the beach chair season from May to September, our holiday apartment Cuxhaven-Duhnen Hohe Lith includes a beach chair for your free use at the Duhnen beach section.

Our vacation apartment is located near the beach in a low-traffic street in the district of Cuxhaven-Duhnen. The popular city center of Duhnen you can find in walking distance.
Just 100 meters away lie a unique in the world mudflats, which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage, to your feet. You can explore it directly from your apartment.
Along the beach Duhner section you will find the finest white sand beach. It is the longest sandy beach on the mainland of Lower Saxony.

Caution, this flat is not wheelchair accessible
We rented the flat because it is advertised as wheelchair accessible with a wheelchair symbol, as our daughter is in a wheelchair and also needs help outside of it. In the bathroom, the sink was definitely not accessible from underneath, so personal hygiene could only be done poorly. In the bedroom, the space between the wardrobe and the bed was just enough to fit the wheelchair. To help transfer the bed, one had to climb over the bed. In the bathroom there are no handholds at the toilet. There is only one step to the balcony. The landlord was very bad in dealing with our complaint, which he rigorously rejected. Allegedly, the washbasin was installed by an expert and was 77 cm high. Unfortunately, this refers to the upper edge of the sink. It was not accessible. In our house, the daughter can easily drive under a table whose lower edge is 69 cm high. I would have expected that our complaint would have been taken seriously and perhaps checked by the landlord on site. Unfortunately, this was not the case. So to sum up: as a disabled person, hands off this otherwise beautiful flat.

Vielen Dank für die Bewertung. Daß die Höhe des Waschbeckens für den Rollstuhl Ihrer Tochter nicht paßte tut mir leid, aber ich hatte Ihnen zusammen mit dem Angebot den Link https://www.ferienwohnungen-cuxhaven.biz/hohe-lith-3-28/barrierefrei/ über die Barrierefreiheit der gemieteten Ferienwohnung gesandt, in welchem die Höhe des Waschbeckens mit 77 cm angegeben ist. Laut DIN 18040-1 darf ein mit Rollstuhl unterfahrbares Waschbecken nicht höher als 80 cm sein. Unsere Einbaumaße können also so falsch nicht sein, zumal es auch noch keine diesbezüglichen Beschwerden anderer Rollstuhlfahrer gegeben hat.
Die Schlafzimmertür ist 1 m breit. Die Betten sind leicht verrückbar. Ich will deshalb nicht ausschließen daß Ihr Vormieter die "Durchfahrtsbreite" verengt hat. Sie hätten die Betten nur zurückschieben brauchen. Die fehlenden Haltegriffe an der Toilette sowie die Stufe zum Balkon habe ich Ihnen bereits in o.a. Link mitgeteilt.
Ich sah deshalb keinen Grund Ihnen den unter Ihrer Drohung einer negativen Bewertung geforderten finanziellen Ausgleich zu leisten.

Super holiday flat
We spent 10 days in this beautiful accommodation and have been coming to Cuxhaven for 30 years but this flat with all the trimmings was the best we have ever had. The friendliness of the owner was reflected whether it was the nice people from H&P Touristik or the ever-helpful caretaker Mr Kiefer. The overall picture was right. It was also good for us that the flat was handicapped accessible. We hope to have this flat again next year. It was just great. Thank you very much Fam. Mayer and best regards
