Description
Villa Athene is a spacious villa built in natural stone with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, making it suitable for 8 people + infant.
It is located in Hamalevri and nestled in the Mediterranean landscape. Relax in this dreamlike location and with this grandiose, extensive view.
From the living room and from all terraces you have an uninterrupted view of the Aegean Sea and the wonderful silver-green landscape.
The surrounding area is a traditional olive-growing area and therefore green all year round.
The villa has a size of approx. 320 sqm and stands on a plot of approx. 8,000 sqm.
On the ground floor there is the entrance area which leads into the living room. There is also a bedroom with 2 single beds (90 cm x 2 m), a bathroom with shower and a service room with washing machine.
From the living room you reach the large dining area with adjoining open kitchen via three steps. From here you can go to the 30 sqm terrace where you can have breakfast and enjoy the magnificent view of the sea and the hinterland.
Also from the living room you go through large sliding doors to the main terrace and to the more than 30 sqm large covered outdoor area.
On the upper floor there are three spacious bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathrooms.
The largest bedroom, with approx. 30 sqm, has an open bathroom with shower and bathtub, as well as a separate WC with bidet. The double bed is 2x2 m in size. From here you have access to the over 30 sqm large, shaded roof terrace, which belongs only to this bedroom. Here you will find a large open-air shower with hot and cold water. So you can also enjoy the view of the Mediterranean Sea while showering. You can relax on the two loungers.
The second bedroom also has a double bed of 1.80 x 2 m and a bathroom with shower. This bedroom has a balcony.
The third bedroom also has a double bed 1.80 x 2 m and has a bathroom with shower. This bedroom has a balcony and a roof terrace.
We have furnished the villa in a modern and comfortable style so that you can feel at home here!
All bedrooms and the living room have air conditioning, satellite TV and DVD.
The villa is equipped with fixed W-Lan.
In front of the living room is a large shaded terrace furnished with comfortable furniture. The covered outdoor area is also furnished with a large brick sofa and a 3 m table. Here you can play sports at the table tennis table.
Afterwards, the large brick barbecue with sink and a gas barbecue are at your disposal.
You can relax in the large heated whirlpool (38 degrees).
A few steps lead to the huge pool terrace. The pool is approx. 11 x 4.50 m and can be heated in the cooler season (weather permitting). (Extra). In the pool area there is also a pool deck with a large brick sofa and a large outdoor shower with hot and cold water.
Here you can relax and unwind! The large terrace is equipped with 8 comfortable sunbeds. Large sunshades provide shade.
Enjoy your morning exercise on the large terrace. The villa is equipped with a yoga mat. If desired, Mira, the yoga teacher can be booked and will gladly come to your villa
The garden is landscaped with olive trees and Mediterranean plants.
For our younger guests there is again a playground with sandbox and swing.
Furthermore, the villa is equipped with a modern outdoor table tennis table.

Location and surroundings of object
The villa is located in Hamalevri and is wonderfully embedded in the fantastic landscape of this traditional village. Relax in this dreamlike location and with this grandiose, extensive view.
Wherever you are on the terraces you have a fantastic view of the landscape and the Aegean Sea. You can see the "White Mountains", the Akrotiri peninsula and Psiloritis
The villa is located on the edge of the traditional village of Hamalevri, so you can walk to the village. It is only 400 m to the traditional, and in Crete very well known taverna "the poli Haus" where you can enjoy traditional Cretan cuisine under shady mulberry trees.
There is a kafenion and tavernas in the village.
The nearest large supermarket is 2 kilometres away. It is almost always open.
There are more tavernas in the surrounding villages and in Skaletta, which is just 2 km away. Here you can also eat directly on the beach.
The nearest beach is only about 2 km away. Many well-known excursion destinations such as the Arkadi Monastery, the village of Margarites, the Melidoni Caves or the Agreco Farm are not far away. Rethymnon with its beautiful old town is only about 10 minutes away.
The most beautiful and longest sandy beach at Epeskopi is about 20 minutes away.

Mega is an understatement.
We were in the Athene holiday home in November 2017. Everything was better than described. The house, the reception, the landlords Helga and Josef, we were thrilled. There are many olive trees on the property and we even took part in the olive harvest and took our "own" olive oil with us. We will come back.

Dream villa in a superb location.
We had a fantastically beautiful holiday in this well-maintained villa. We didn't miss anything in the villa, everything was as described. It was super clean and the care provided by Helga and Josef was very nice and personal. We gladly recommend the villa and will definitely come back soon to one of Helga and Josef's houses.

Maximum beautiful with 6*
We already stayed at the Beibl's Villa Tara in spring. That was super. Now Villa Athene takes the whole thing to the top. Unbelievably beautiful. We are overwhelmed. The generosity, the large warm pool, we don't need a pool heater, the solar foil is enough and easily sufficient, the whirlpool and the view, everything is just right. We already know some of Helga and Josef's houses, the Athena is the top. About 300 m away there is a good taverna, you can easily walk there. It only takes a few minutes to drive to Rethymon, the old town is highly recommended. The small shops and the many tavernas, just great. On Thursday, the market is highly recommended. We will definitely come back. PS: We have already booked again for next year

Luxury villa for relaxation
We have never been in such a beautiful villa before. We have already stayed in several houses of Helga and Josef, but this villa is by far the most beautiful. The whirlpool and the pool, we used them daily. The nearest tavern, the Polio House with a small museum, is only 300m away. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back.
