Location and surroundings of object
The villa has been built on a terraced slope beside the village and completed in springtime, 2006.
Views range far over the bay and the sea, over the town and the port of Rethymnon, and towards Cape Drapanon as well as to the White Mountains.
On the 8,000 sqm areal there are also the two sibbling villas Stamatis and Nikos, many olive-trees as well as some fig-trees and vines.
Harvesting (in late summer and autumn) is permitted.
The nearest sandy beach is a 1,000 meters footwalk away. Stavromenos is the biggest of the villages in the eastern part of the bay of Rethymnon.
It lies above the National Road which here runs some 200 meters South of the coast from Rethymnon (12 kms) to Iraklion (71 kms).
On both sides of the National Road and further down to the beach there are one bigger and several smaller hotels.
Between them there are restaurants, bars, discotheques, supermarkets and other shops, and on the beach there are several beach bars.
There is an hourly public bus service in both directions, during the season every 30 minutes.
During the season there are many watersports on offer on the beach along the bay such as parasailing, waterski and jet skiing.
A watersport center and the Atlantis Diving Center are located by one of the bigger hotels.
Bars, discotheques and a colourful nightlife can also be found in the villages along the bay during the season, and all-year in the picturesque Venetian Old Town of Rethymnon.
Iraklion airport is 79 kms away, Hania airport 82 kms.
