Some recommendations for sightseeing:
* The Pont du Gard. / * The National Stud Farm of Uzès
* The Bambouseraie of Prafrance / * the Camellias Park of La Prairie
* The cave Abbey of Saint-Roman / * the caves La Salamandre and Cocalière.

In the one it skims slowly. The region around Uzes is the only place in Gard, where ballooning is possible.

The Languedoc-Roussillon is located in the deep south of France and includes the departments of Lozère, Gard, Hérault, Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales.
The Mas d'Oléandre located in the Gard, this fascinating area, which extends from the southern edge of the Ardèche to the Mediterranean. This is the land of impenetrable "Garrigue" -Dickichten, numerous ruins, old fortress towns and the famous Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard.

Le Languedoc
The term Languedoc has had different meanings throughout history. In the Middle Ages thinking of the old regional language langue d'oc.
The name Occitan / Occitan is a collective term for a number of closely related regional languages, which have evolved from about 1300 from the Langue d'Oc (Lenga d'Òc); it is sometimes referred to as Provençal.
The range of this regional languages is called simplicity Occitania or Languedoc.
The area in which this language was spoken, was originally the entire France south of Lyon.
The boundaries of the historic province of Languedoc were far more extensive than that of today's Languedoc.

Le Roussillon
The landscape of the Roussillon has a relatively small area on significant differences. Up to and including Argelès coast has wide beaches, comparable to the Languedoc, here and there with coastal inland seas. South of Argelès is the Côte Vermeille, characterized by towering cliffs with here and there a small bay or a small beach.
Behind the coast lies a large area, which is used for horticulture and viticulture. In the south and west the landscape is bounded by the Pyrenees and the north by the almost equally high Corbières. In the lower elevations of the mountains and in the hills extends the rugged bush landscape of the "Maquis". This impenetrable thicket resembles the garrigue, but with hardly a free access.

Le Gard
Old cities Roman origin as Nîmes, Arles and Uzès but also Avignon with its many colorful festivals and its magnificent, remarkable Papes are naturally worth a visit.
In the north of the department of Gard is the National Park of the Cévennes, a mountainous area with aussergewönlichen natural beauties, gorges and rivers.
Further south is the Camargue, with its wild horses (also known as "Camargue horses" known), pink flamingos, rice fields and Saline gardens where by evaporation of seawater salt is obtained.
