Description
The apartment is 64 m² in size and includes a living room with kitchen including refrigerator, couch and flat-screen TV, a bedroom with double bed and large wardrobe, a bathroom with large bathtub, toilet and integrated shower. The part of the apartment with 34.8 m² is located on the 1st floor and is closed off there by an entrance door. In the attic of our house there are two further bedrooms, the first with 18 m² (ceiling height 1.95 m) for 2 adults or for 2 children. The second... Bedroom in the attic has approx. 12 m² with 2 single beds (room height approx. 2 m). We ourselves live on the ground floor of the building.
There are games and books in the holiday home. Sleds are available.
In front of the entrance there is a covered terrace with barbecue facilities. Barbecue accessories are available.
The entrance is accessible via stairs, therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.

Welcome to the Green Heart of Germany! In the arms and mining town of Suhl, your holiday home is located in the district of Goldlauter-Heidersbach in a quiet area. Only 8 minutes from the city bus, you can enjoy your holiday directly in the valley of the Dürren Lauter (biosphere reserve). The nearest supermarket is about 3 km away, opposite the OIL gas station in the direction of Zella-Mehlis. We are hikers ourselves and also active mushroom pickers, and we know the area very well, as well as how to identify even rare edible mushrooms.
Our own detached house offers you, on 2 floors, a living, cooking, bathing, and sleeping area for up to 6 people. On nice days you can enjoy nature under the covered terrace with Thuringian bratwurst and beer. Parking lot, natural location, in winter cross-country ski trails are directly or by car accessible: Goldlauter-Heidersbach, Gehlberg, Oberhof, Schmücke, Schmiedefeld, Schneekopf, Adlersberg, Inselsberg.
Many mountain inns (Bauden) can be found in the surrounding area.
In summer, the forest pool Goldlauter-Heidersbach including snack kiosk invites you to linger. In Suhl and Zella-Mehlis there are several cultural institutions: Congress Centrum Suhl, cinema, sea aquarium. The weapons and vehicle museum is located in the center of Suhl.
There you will also find a variety of dining and shopping options.
For skiers, trails are well-groomed in winter; downhill slopes are located in Oberhof, Schmiedefeld, Steinheid, and Goldlauter.
In Suhl, an indoor swimming pool invites you to visit, in Oberhof the H2O-Therme.
With the spa tax, you have the Thuringian Forest Card and the Rennsteig ticket included.

Hiking near Suhl
We were two for 3 nights at the Müller family's vacation apartment. Hiking trails start practically right from the door. A great hiking trail is the summit trail, which was almost deserted even on the long weekend. However, one should take the whole day for it.
A heartfelt thank you for the hospitality and unexpected barbecue evening with provisions on the holiday. Without the Müller family, we would probably have starved, as the local restaurants were closed. :)

Always gladly
We were in this apartment during the October holidays with three adults and a child. The apartment is very clean, tidy, and pragmatically furnished, with each person having their own bedroom. The apartment is very spacious.
The landlords are very nice and accommodating. There are several very nice dining options in the village.
You just have to accept that the road to the house is a very narrow path; my husband had concerns, but it worked out very well. Thank you once again for the time there, and we will come back.

Weekend trip in September
We were there for a weekend with three adults and four children, and we were informed beforehand that the apartment was very cramped. Nevertheless, we took the plunge and managed well, and it was a lovely weekend. The rooms are rustic but cozily furnished. The living room/kitchen is the same and was fully utilized with the available toys. The landlords are very friendly and are happy to provide excursion tips for the surrounding area. A great starting point for hikers, as the forest begins just a few meters up the road.
Our recommendation is the mining circular trail.
We would love to come back.

Clear recommendation
We stayed here for just under a week and felt really comfortable. The vacation rental is very cozy and spacious. There is nothing to criticize about the cleanliness. Everything necessary for cooking is available. It would be nice to have a small oven for baking rolls or pizza. The landlords, Fam. Müller, are very friendly and open.
The house is located by the forest, inviting you to go hiking directly. Destinations like Oberhof can be reached quickly.
We can only recommend the accommodation and the area.

Trip to Suhl
We were guests of the Müller couple for 3 nights. The booking was quick, the confirmation was available after a short time. The contact was always friendly and obliging. We were allowed to use the house's own barbecue if necessary. We received great tips on regional dishes and restaurants. Müllers were also able to give valuable tips on excursions. We felt very comfortable and would book again. Many thanks to the Müller couple from 2 Westphalian swallow friends.
