Description
The apartment complex for sole use is 64 m² and comprises a living room with kitchen including fridge, couch and flat-screen TV, a bedroom with double bed and large wardrobe, a bathroom with large bathtub, WC and integrated shower. The flat with 34.8 m² is located on the 1st floor and is closed off there by an entrance door. In the top floor of our house there are two bedrooms, the first with 18 m² (room height 1.95 m) for 2 adults or for 2-3 children (one rollaway bed). The second bedroom in the attic has approx. 12 m² with 2 single beds (room height approx. 2 m).
There are games and books in the holiday home. Sledges are available.
In front of the entrance there is a covered terrace with barbecue facilities. Barbecue equipment is available.
The entrance is accessible via stairs, therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.
We rent the flat to non-smokers only (smoking is allowed in front of the entrance).

Welcome to the green heart of Germany! Your holiday home is located in a quiet area of the arms and mining town of Suhl in the district of Goldlauter-Heidersbach. Only 5 minutes to the next restaurant or shopping market and 8 minutes to the city bus, you can enjoy your holidays directly in the valley of the Dürren Lauter (biosphere reserve).
We are hikers ourselves and also active mushroom pickers and know the area very well, as well as how to identify even rare edible mushrooms.
Our own detached house offers you a living, cooking, bathroom and sleeping area for up to 6 people on 2 floors. On nice days you can enjoy nature under the covered terrace with Thuringian bratwurst and beer. Parking space with carport, close to nature, in winter cross-country skiing trails are directly accessible or accessible by car: Oberhof, Schmücke, Schmiedefeld, Schneekopf, Adlersberg, Inselsberg.
Many mountain inns (Bauden) can be found in the surrounding area.
In summer, the Waldbad Goldlauter-Heidersbach swimming pool, including its supply kiosks, is an inviting place to spend some time. There are several cultural facilities in Suhl and Zella-Mehlis: CongressCentrumSuhl, cinema, sea aquarium. The weapons museum and a vehicle museum are located in the centre of Suhl
There you will also find a wide variety of places to stop for refreshments and shopping.
For skiers, cross-country ski trails are well prepared in winter; downhill slopes are located in Oberhof, Schmiedefeld, Steinheid and Goldlauter.
Suhl has an indoor swimming pool and Oberhof has the H2O thermal baths.

Always gladly
We were in this apartment during the October holidays with three adults and a child. The apartment is very clean, tidy, and pragmatically furnished, with each person having their own bedroom. The apartment is very spacious.
The landlords are very nice and accommodating. There are several very nice dining options in the village.
You just have to accept that the road to the house is a very narrow path; my husband had concerns, but it worked out very well. Thank you once again for the time there, and we will come back.

Weekend trip in September
We were there for a weekend with three adults and four children, and we were informed beforehand that the apartment was very cramped. Nevertheless, we took the plunge and managed well, and it was a lovely weekend. The rooms are rustic but cozily furnished. The living room/kitchen is the same and was fully utilized with the available toys. The landlords are very friendly and are happy to provide excursion tips for the surrounding area. A great starting point for hikers, as the forest begins just a few meters up the road.
Our recommendation is the mining circular trail.
We would love to come back.

Clear recommendation
We stayed here for just under a week and felt really comfortable. The vacation rental is very cozy and spacious. There is nothing to criticize about the cleanliness. Everything necessary for cooking is available. It would be nice to have a small oven for baking rolls or pizza. The landlords, Fam. Müller, are very friendly and open.
The house is located by the forest, inviting you to go hiking directly. Destinations like Oberhof can be reached quickly.
We can only recommend the accommodation and the area.

Trip to Suhl
We were guests of the Müller couple for 3 nights. The booking was quick, the confirmation was available after a short time. The contact was always friendly and obliging. We were allowed to use the house's own barbecue if necessary. We received great tips on regional dishes and restaurants. Müllers were also able to give valuable tips on excursions. We felt very comfortable and would book again. Many thanks to the Müller couple from 2 Westphalian swallow friends.

Winter holidays 2022
Nice, rustic, traditional Thuringian holiday flat with enough space for 4 to 6 people.
Non-smoking flat, odourless and clean. Large modernised bathroom, with tub + shower and wall-mounted WC. The kitchenette is a bit too small to cook for yourself. But for smaller dishes it works if you want, with a lot of patience and spit. There is enough crockery etc. available. Small fridge with icebox. Many games/board games, reading material etc. available. Internet available, bandwidth sufficient. Separate parking space in front of the house.
Landlord very friendly and pleasant.
Ski rental (cross-country skiing) can be purchased cheaply at the T-Info. All places worth seeing easy and quick to reach
We were very satisfied, price/performance very good.

Super area
Very nice landlords who are always available to answer questions. Good accommodation, also for families with children. You can really relax because the flat is very quiet. Very beautiful area for hiking. Excursions by bus or car to Suhl or to the weapons and vehicle museum or zoo and Zella-Mehlis to the sea aquarium are also possible.

Pure relaxation
The stay in this holiday flat exceeded our positive expectations by far. Everything we needed to feel comfortable was there. The landlords are just great, super nice and uncomplicated. They gave us very individual tips and suggestions that made our relaxing holiday even more enjoyable.

Short Break
Our inquiry reached the landlords on very short notice and was processed very quickly (within a few hours). The apartment is located in the landlords' house and is functional, very clean, and well-equipped. The landlord couple is very friendly and helpful. There are two restaurants within walking distance.

Erstklassige Unterkunft
I was part of a small hiking group (4 people in total) that wanted to explore the Rennsteig trail. The house is nicely furnished and very well connected for hiking. We were advised extensively and had no trouble choosing the most beautiful destinations in the area. In a way, we slept just a few meters from the border of the biosphere reserve. Would love to come back!

Familienurlaub
Very loving landlords. Mr. Müller even picked us up from the train station and took us back, as we arrived by train. We found that very nice. The apartment is very well equipped. Beautiful nature all around. A paradise for families who love hiking.

A cozy atmosphere in the middle of the green.
The accommodation in Goldlauter is cozy and well-maintained. It is suitable for smaller groups and families (up to 5 people). We were warmly welcomed by the Müller family and felt well taken care of at all times. Those who, like us, are in the region for mountain biking and do not shy away from climbs will love this place. The variety of trails (well signposted) and destinations is enormous. We will definitely come back as we have not conquered every mountain yet.

Ideal for nature lovers and hikers, also perfect for family vacations!
Highly recommended for those who enjoy nature and want to relax. Right behind the house, the Vessertal begins. All around greenery, and hikes can start right at the doorstep or you can explore the Thuringian Forest by car or public transportation. The hosts themselves are connoisseurs, so they provide great tips for excursions, skiing and hiking tours, as well as regional specialties. With a bit of luck, in June/July, you can see the fireflies dancing on the slope, right in front of the roof window next to the bed. . . Charming at any time of the year! We would love to come back anytime! Thank you!
