Villa Oceana is a two storey house with one double bedroom, and one twin bedroom. It has a bathroom with a WC, bidet, hand basin and shower, and a second separate WC with hand basin. The lounge and kitchen is open-plan. The lounge has WiFi Internet access and German language satellite TV. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. There is a separate laundry with washing machine, iron and ironing board. The terrace has a built in covered BBQ. The bedrooms have balconies with spectacular sea views.
Villa Oceana shares a swimming pool and covered terrace for the exclusive use of guests staying at villa Atlantica , villa Oceana and Casa das Pedras.

Location and surroundings of object
The villa is situated at the edge of the village in an area known as the Pontinha or 'little headland'. They are reached on foot by a path 200m from the village square. It is 20m above sea level with an uninterrupted spectacular 180 degree sea view over the Jardim do Mar surf break and along the coast to Paul do Mar. Facing West it enjoys spectacular sunsets and moonlight seascapes. It has a private sun terrace and shares a swimming pool and covered terrace for the exclusive use of guests staying at villa Atlantica villa Oceana and Casa das Pedras.
The small village of Jardim do Mar looks out to sea at the foot of spectacular cliffs. Just 45 minutes’ drive from the airport on the sunny southwest-facing shore, this tranquil unspoiled village of old stone houses and cobbled footpaths is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the island. It has a small hotel with a restaurant , 2 friendly bars, and a village shop. A new car park at the edge of the village leaves the square largely free of cars, and there is a seafront pedestrian promenade lined with palm trees. The little harbour has a clean pebble beach for swimming and snorkeling, with a shower and beach bar. The next village Calheta (5 min. drive) has a busy marina, a sandy bathing beach, shops and several more restaurants. Whale and dolphin watching or fishing excursions can be arranged from Calheta. Some of the island's finest scenery and walking are within a 20 minute drive into the mountains.

Free parking is provided at the entrance to the village from where visitors must walk 200 metres along a footpath which includes some steps. It is therefore unsuitable for guests with mobility problems

Most beautiful spot in Madeira to stay!
I am writing this review mainly because I hesitated to book due to the low number of reviews...
However, there was not one reason to doubt!
Margaret and Ray are the perfect landlords, with clear and quick communication.
We stayed in villa Oceana. The house is very spacious, has 2 terraces with a beautiful sunset every day, there is a private laundry room with a super good washing machine, the kitchen is practical (without a dishwasher), everything is there! The double bed is not very wide, but you wake up with a view of the sea from your pillow!
There is no air conditioning in the rooms, sleeping with the windows open is possible, there are not many mosquitoes (no fly screens).
The terrace by the living area is really large with a BBQ, the terrace by the bedrooms is also larger than in the photos and is nice to read a book alone for a while.
The pool is nice and deep for jumping and you share it with 2 other cottages, often you are there alone anyway.
Swimming is also possible in the ocean. At the bottom of the village runs a beautiful boulevard. On the east side is a concrete pier where you can jump and also lie down. On the west side, you can go to a pebble beach to snorkel. The sea is not too wild there in the summer.
To reach the cottage, you have to walk a small 10 minutes from the parking lot. Despite the high season, we always found a free spot.
We did our shopping at the supermarket along the access road to Jardim. Here you will pass by anyway before and after every outing.
Funchal is a 50-minute drive, Porto Moniz 45 minutes, most hikes take 45 minutes to 1 hour. It may all seem a bit far, but the location and comfort of this little house really make up for it! Moreover, it is so beautiful along the way...
