Description
The upper floor of the villa provides our own accommodation when we visit Madeira and is not offered for rental. We offer the lower floor for rental when we are away from Madeira.
The lower floor provides a self-contained guest apartment with one en-suite double bedroom and one en-suite twin bedroom, a lounge looking out over the private pool and garden to the sea, and a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is satellite TV and Wi Fi internet access.
A third en-suite double bedroom which is accessed from the entrance hall is also available at a small extra cost. There is a separate laundry room. The garden layout, cliff top location and the pool mean that small children will require close supervision.

Location and surroundings of object
The villa looks out to sea on the edge of the village in an area known as the Pontinha or "little headland" and is reached on foot by a narrow 150 m pedestrian path from the village square. (This path includes steps and would not be suitable for guests with mobility problems.) The villa is 20 m above sea level with an uninterrupted 180 degree sea view over the Jardim do Mar surf break. Facing South West it enjoys spectacular sunsets and moonlight seascapes. Free car parking is provided at the entrance to the village.
The small village of Jardim do Mar looks out to sea at the foot of spectacular cliffs. Just 60 minutes’ drive from the airport on the sunny southwest-facing shore, this tranquil unspoiled village of old stone houses and cobbled footpaths is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the island. It has a small hotel with a restaurant , 2 friendly bars, and a village shop. A new car park at the edge of the village leaves the square largely free of cars, and there is a seafront pedestrian promenade lined with palm trees. The little harbour has a clean pebble beach for swimming and snorkeling, with a shower and beach bar. The next village Calheta (5 min. drive) has a busy marina, a sandy bathing beach, shops and several more restaurants. Whale and dolphin watching or fishing excursions can be arranged from Calheta. Some of the island's finest scenery and walking are within a 20 minute drive into the mountains.

Free parking is provided at the entrance to the village from where visitors must walk 200 metres along a footpath which includes some steps. It is therefore unsuitable for guests with mobility problems
A cot and highchair are available if requested in advance
An electric room heater is provided for winter evenings, but is seldom needed.
