Our property is located in Grüne Straße, in a central yet quiet location in the western part of Prerow, surrounded by a large garden
It is only 800 m to the centre of the village with shopping facilities, and the "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" National Park with the Darß forest begins 400 m away in the west.
The distance to the fine sandy north beach, the main beach of Prerow, is about 1 km. The famous wild and romantic West Beach on the west coast of the Darß, which was voted one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world by the Arte TV station, is best reached by cycling through the Darß Forest at a distance of 6 km. Prerow is located in the north-east of the Darß peninsula in a large fine-sand bay and is bordered by the Darß forest in the west and the Prerowstrom in the east. The connection from the Prerowstrom to the Baltic Sea was closed in 1872 after a severe storm surge. Today, the Prerowstrom is a calm body of water with interesting flora and fauna and is part of the national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft", as is the Darßwald.
Prerow attracts many visitors with its wonderful nature and beaches. But the cultural life is also worth mentioning. Concerts and cabaret performances take place here. Every year on the Whitsun weekend there is one of the most beautiful pottery and craft markets in northern Germany. A special experience is the German Nature Film Festival, which takes place in September/October
Worth seeing is the Prerow Seamen's Church, the oldest church on Fischland-Darß-Zingst, which is a testimony to the region's centuries-long seafaring tradition.
