Welcome to our comfortable and modern holiday home 'Friesensommer' in Norden, in beautiful East Frisia, which was completely renovated, modernised and refurnished in 2015.
Our holiday home is a semi-detached house and offers 65 m² of space for up to 4 people.
On the ground floor you will find the spacious living room with flat-screen TV (satellite reception), hi-fi system and a cosy couch. The ideal place to relax.
The dining area and an integrated new fitted kitchen round off the cosy living ambience.
The bathroom with shower is also located on the ground floor. The large window offers plenty of daylight.
In the utility room with its own exit to the garden and terrace, you will find the washing machine and garden furniture as well as enough space for your luggage.
Upstairs there are 2 cosy bedrooms (one with a double bed).
The whole house is equipped with tiles or laminate in a modern, rustic wood look and underfloor heating in all rooms for your well-being.
Outside, there is a small garden with terrace that invites you to sunbathe and barbecue.
The house also has two parking spaces.
A free WLAN internet with up to mbit/ sec and free landline telephone calls round off our comfort offer.

Location and surroundings of object
Our holiday home is situated in a quiet residential area in a cul-de-sac location on the north-western outskirts of Norden.
In a few minutes you can reach the historic town centre and the shopping area of Norden on foot or by bike.
Several supermarkets, as well as Aldi and Lidl are within walking distance.
Various restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity of the house.
The district of Norddeich and the North Sea can also be easily reached by car, bicycle or on foot in a distance of about 3 km.
Here, behind the dyke, you will find the North Sea beach with a fine sandy beach and an extra dog beach
There is also an all-day open-air seawater swimming pool and a large seawater adventure pool.
Take a walk on the dike or take part in a guided mudflat hike, which will bring you closer to the World Heritage Site "Wadden Sea"
At the seal breeding station you can watch the little seals being reared and learn more about the Wadden Sea and its inhabitants.
The ferries to Norderney and Juist leave from Norddeich harbour and a small fish restaurant invites you to enjoy a delicious fish dish or fish roll directly from the fishing boats based here. Experience the play of the tides at any time of year. During a walk along the North Sea, you can let a fresh breeze blow around your nose or experience swimming fun in and by the sea, spend a day in a beach chair or enjoy the view of the island of Norderney and Juist
Norddeich harbour is the hub for ferry services to the islands of Norderney and Juist, and cutters provide fresh fish every day. The seal breeding station and the whale museum are attractions worth visiting.
Especially when the rhododendrons are in bloom, Lütetsburg Castle Park is an absolute highlight not to be missed.
A stroll through the town of Norden is also worthwhile. Time flies on the market square with its pretty buildings. The Ludgeri Church with its Arp Schnitker organ or the old town hall with its tea museum are always worth a visit
Visit the little seals at the Norddeich seal breeding and research station.

The apartment was found very clean. The (heavy) garden furniture must be set up by yourself and on request of the landlord also put away again (minus point for service). The hotplate in the compact kitchen could use a thorough cleaning (burnt food residues). The kitchen equipment is sufficient, but partly defective (e.g. fridge compartment, hand mixer). The bedrooms are located on the upper floor. One reaches there via a steep staircase with short steps. This presents a risk for small children and elderly or disabled persons. In the bedroom, there is a wardrobe that does not offer the possibility to hang clothes. There are only two hangers available. Thus, only two jackets or similar items can be hung on the coat rack. When going to bed, clothes must be laid on the floor as suitable clothes racks are not available. Basically, it is actually a nice apartment more suitable for two to three people, which could be better equipped with a little imagination.

Beautiful house in a quiet and central location.
The house is cozy and stylishly furnished. Everything is super clean. We didn't miss anything. You look out onto greenery and it's very quiet there. You can easily walk to the city center of Norder. The beach is not far either by bike or by car.
recommend for: holiday with children, holiday without car, cultural and sightseeing holiday, beach holiday

Did not meet the expectations
We rented the holiday home Friesensommer in March 2022. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an unpleasant, musty smell in the house. After four hours of intense airing, the smell did not improve, so we packed our suitcases back into the car and got a hotel room. A rather repulsive sight is the plastic cover of the sofa, which is disintegrating on a large scale.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus
Even in November, you can spend a few beautiful days here. The small holiday home in a quiet location is nicely furnished and offers all the comforts for relaxing for a few days. We liked it so much that we would like to spend another holiday here in 2022 as well. We can only recommend it.
