The apartment is a rear building.
The equipment is very good. Beds were very comfortable and there is enough space for 2 people. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The location is very central and yet quiet. Highly recommended. Because of the steep stairs, the apartment is not wheelchair accessible.

Relaxing vacation

We were greeted by very friendly landlords with flowers and wine.
The cottage exactly matched the pictures from the internet. It was very clean and
offered everything you need. Just around the corner is a supermarket with a large selection.
The bus stop to Alkmaar is 5 minutes away. We were very impressed with the
proximity to the beach. We really liked it and would love to come back next year.

The Back Pathway

The holiday apartment is very centrally located and yet quiet in Egmont. A supermarket, bakery, restaurants, and shops are quickly accessible. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to the beautiful sandy beach. The holiday apartment is equipped with everything one needs, and is also very clean. The De Groot family, the landlords, were very friendly and attentive. The staircase to the first floor is quite steep; not quite optimal for seniors. All in all: Recommended!

Our week of vacation in Egmond aan Zee was very nice. The reception by the De Groot couple was very pleasant - great landlords. We were welcomed very kindly and greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. A parking spot right in front of the house was also available. We liked the apartment, everything was very clean and tidy, and the apartment's equipment is complete. Only the stairs to the upper floor are quite steep - but this seems to be common in the Netherlands. It was nice to live in the middle of the village and still have absolute peace. Bakeries, supermarkets, various restaurants are nearby, and the beach is only a few minutes' walk from the apartment. We really felt comfortable and were very satisfied. We would come back anytime! Thank you, De Groot family, for a beautiful and relaxing week of vacation.

Everything around the corner; yet a bit away from the hustle and bustle

A beautifully maintained cottage; everything intact and well equipped. Everything you need for cooking is there, as well as a toaster, cooker and microwave.
Supermarket, bakery, fishmonger - everything just around the corner. The beach is a good five minutes away.
I was only there for less than a week, but the cottage is also nice for longer stays because it is spacious and you can spread out a bit.

Holiday September 2018

Top, great super clean holiday flat, very nice tasteful furnishings. The flat is very central (shopping and beach) and yet totally quiet. The beautiful garden invites you to enjoy breakfast or coffee and cake in peace. The reception by the De Groot family was very friendly, we were very happy about the flowers and the bottle of wine. The 2 weeks of holiday were fantastic and we are already looking forward to our next stay in December. In any case, thumbs up, we were completely satisfied.

We had a very nice holiday in Egmond, also thanks to the nice welcome from the de Groot family. The flat is very centrally located in the town. It is also not far to the shops. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes. The flat is well equipped, ideal for 2 people. There is a parking space right next to the flat, which is very convenient. There is a shared terrace with seating, which is divided by a partition. Very nice to relax. We would come back at any time.

Two wonderful relaxing weeks with the De Groot family.

As a couple, we spent two wonderful weeks in Egmond aan Zee with the De Groot family. Upon arrival, we were very warmly welcomed and a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine awaited us. The apartment was very clean and we felt very comfortable with the entire furnishings. Even a lot of information on excursions, cycling tours, etc. was available. The beach was within a 5-minute walk and with the bus, it was about Within half an hour in Alkmaar. We can highly recommend this accommodation and would stay in the De Groot family's holiday home again in the future.

We had a lovely holiday despite a lot of rain and even a storm. The beautiful and super clean apartment of the de Groot family contributed to this.
This apartment is an all-around worry-free package, good location, just a few steps to the promenade and the beautiful beach, supermarket right around the corner. But the best part are the landlords. Mrs. de Groot is such a kind and warm-hearted woman, not only did she welcome us with a bottle of wine and flowers, she also apologized with cookies and wine for the bad weather. Mr. de Groot even surprised my husband with a cigar for enjoyment at home. We can definitely recommend this apartment and Egmond as a holiday destination.

It is a pleasure to rent a cottage at the de Groot family. The house is super clean and has everything you need. The beds are comfortable so you can start a new day well-rested because Egmond aan Zee offers many possibilities. The house is in a perfect location, right in the center and close to the beach. You don't really need a car because everything is available in the village. Despite the cottage being in the center, it is very quiet. We spent a week with the de Groot family. The small apartment over 2 floors is located behind the house of the de Groot family, 50 m from the local supermarket and about 100 m from the pedestrian zone. The kilometer-long sandy beach is about 500 meters from the apartment. The accommodation was very clean, tidy, and equipped with everything needed for self-catering. The landlords were very nice and always informed us about the current weather, etc. We felt very comfortable with them very quickly and would love to come back next year.

The apartment is very centrally located in Egmond. Not even 50 meters to the affordable supermarket and the shopping street, where you can shop, get something warm to eat, and have ice cream. The beach is only a 5-minute walk away. We could park right in front of the apartment. Everything is provided for self-catering in the apartment. Everything is clean and nicely furnished. Beautiful, cozy accommodation with superb access to the beach and shops.

We stayed in Egmond aan Zee for 11 nights and really enjoyed our holiday there!
First and foremost, we would like to thank the de Groot family for their hospitality and warmth, always ready to help and welcoming us very kindly!
Another important aspect for us was the cleanliness of the accommodation, which was definitely guaranteed.
It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the beach, which was perfect for sunbathing and swimming. In the immediate vicinity (diagonally opposite) of the accommodation, there is also a supermarket where you can get everything you need (including bread rolls). Cooking is not a problem in the small kitchen, as everything you need is available. Alternatively, you can also eat out nearby, both affordably and slightly more expensively. The living room is well suited for quiet evenings and inviting. Similarly, you can relax and end the day on the small terrace in front of the house. In our opinion, this accommodation is very well suited for a peaceful beach holiday. Therefore, we would highly recommend it and would love to come back anytime!

A great week in Egmond aan Zee

We just came back from a great week at the Dutch coast.

A small, lively, beautiful town on the coast, a kilometer-long sandy beach, Alkmaar (10 km) with a cheese market and a canal tour right at your doorstep, Amsterdam within reach, and perfect summer weather. What more could you want?

However:
The cherry on top was the vacation rental "Het Achterommetje" with the truly very nice landlords, the de Groot family, who welcomed us with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine. When we had to park further away one evening due to a market, Mr. de Groot informed us the next morning when a parking spot right in front of the house became available and reserved it for us until we could move the car. It was also nice to enjoy a morning coffee on the small terrace in front of the apartment, or bask in the afternoon sun.

Regarding the location, shopping possibilities, and amenities, we can only confirm the other positive reviews. Conclusion:
A great week, we would love to come back.

There is a small supermarket just around the corner (50m) and the beach can be reached on foot within three minutes by walking along a small shopping street with various shops, restaurants, and boutiques. The landlords are really very friendly, accommodating, and speak very good German. For example, we had to visit a dentist on a Sunday due to an emergency, and Mrs. de Groot selected a dentist for us within five minutes and quickly arranged an appointment. Therefore, we can only recommend the holiday apartment and would also come back ourselves at any time.

We stayed there for two weeks and did not want to leave! We were welcomed very nicely, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us. The beds were already made and the kitchen was well-equipped. The location is excellent! Central, yet very quiet. The supermarket is very close, so you can quickly get fresh bread every morning and anything else you need for the day. The town is very beautiful and the sea is not far away. The house is modern and tastefully furnished. TV, Wi-Fi, and a CD player/radio are also available. The landlords are very nice. For example, I once forgot my towels outside and they got completely wet. Mrs. de Groot washed and dried them for me and gave them to me when I returned: I was very happy! Thanks again! You get a parking permit, we were always able to park very close. We can recommend the "Mats" and "De Schelp" restaurants. A bike ride through the dunes is also recommended. We have made trips to Bergen, Alkmaar, and Haarlem.
