Until recently, CASA LA FORANA was a typical farmhouse of our western area of the island of Elba, where all the inhabitants worked the land and especially the vineyards. Even today, the entire small seaside village of CHIESSI is surrounded by ancient terraces where wine was cultivated. Today, the old mule tracks, which were used to transport grapes by donkey from the top of the mountain to the village below, have become trails for hikers. From CHIESSI, one actually reaches the highest peaks of the Monte Capanne massif (1018m).
CASA LA FORANA was completely renovated in 2015 with great taste and attention to detail, using only high-quality finishes. It is a small jewel in the heart of CHIESSI, one of the most authentic seaside villages on the Island of Elba.
It takes its name from a large granite cliff in the area, called LA FORANA. The house is set on two levels with a large living room featuring a high-level open kitchen: an ILVE oven with 4 burners and a central fish kettle; a large column fridge, cleverly hidden inside a charming cabinet, an antique marble sink, antique tiles, etc.
In the living room, there is a double sofa bed. The living room connects with the first, beautiful, and spacious bathroom with large glass walls in the shower and a large waterfall, along with a sink whose base is made from an old olive trunk. A comfortable staircase leads to the upper floor with a master bedroom and another beautiful bathroom with an equally fine crystal shower cabin with a large shower head. From the bedroom, there is access to the large first-floor sun terrace, which offers a sea view. Due to its south-facing position, the terrace is especially suitable for sunbathing in the low season, sheltered from the north winds.
The whole house is very bright with high-quality finishes: oak floors (no ceramic!) ), antiqued wooden fixtures, air conditioning (with heating) in all rooms.
