This modern and newly built log cabin is located on the
Galå Fjällgård in the middle of untouched nature at the foot of the Oviken Mountains (Oviksfjäll) in Jämtland.
The log cabin "Freja" has a living room with fireplace, cosy sitting area, underfloor heating, modern kitchen, 2 separate bedrooms for up to 6 people, spacious bathroom with shower, WC, underfloor heating and sauna.
The complete equipment and loving furnishings distinguish this very clean and bright holiday home.
LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS:
Far away from mass tourism, this lovingly built mountain farm under German management offers comfort and pure relaxation in its four holiday homes. The quiet location in the nature, hospitality and many activity possibilities on site characterise this domicile. Welcome to the wonderful north!
The wonderfully expansive nature begins right outside the door of the holiday home. Two in-house hiking trails lead along mountain streams through Nordic primeval forests and high moors. Tips for excursions to Östersund, Åre, Klövsjö and Vemdalen are available in the log cabin. The landlords are happy to help with planning.
ACTIVITIES:
In the summer, the best way to experience the unique nature is by hiking - there are 24 hiking suggestions in a brochure for you. You can fish for trout, char, grayling or even in the fells in the excellent Börtnan area with its countless lakes and kilometre-long stretches of river. A boat or canoe can be rented on site (approx. EUR 10-25 per day). End an active day in a cosy atmosphere around the campfire in our barbecue hut.
In winter, the log cabin is an absolutely snow-sure starting point for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, touring skiing or snowmobiling. Equipment rental on site. The farm maintains four of its own cross-country trails as well as marked snowshoe trails. Snowmobile rental is available - the holiday home has direct access to a well-marked trail network for snowmobiles.

Location and surroundings of object
The log cabin is located near the mountain pasture settlement of Galåbodarna at the foot of Ovikenfjäll. The village of Börtnan is 10 km away.
The nearest airport in Östersund (OSD) is only an hour's drive away. Östersund is easy to reach from all major German airports with an open jaw flight via Stockholm. Rental cars are available there or a pick-up is also possible.
It is also possible to travel to Östersund by car all year round. From the ferry port in Gothenburg it is 800 km or a 10-hour drive. The cottage is beautifully situated in the middle of the northern Swedish wilderness on the Fäbodvägen (mountain path). There are many opportunities to be active in nature right on the doorstep.

| The rental price also includes firewood, water and electricity (up to a consumption of 10 kWh per rental day). Each additional kWh at 5 SEK. We reserve the right to charge additional costs in case of short-term sharp increases in energy costs. Washing machine and dryer are located in the generally accessible service building (50 SEK each). Bed linen and towels have to be brought by the guest or can be booked additionally (60 SEK or 40 SEK). The use of sleeping bags is not allowed.There is an electric sauna for use in the cottage. |
Cancellation terms:
Free cancellation possible up to 84 days before the arrival date.
When booking, 20% of the rental price must be paid as a deposit. The remaining amount is due 84 days (12 weeks) before arrival. If the booking is cancelled up to the 84th day before the start of the rental period, 20% of the rental price will be charged. If the booking is cancelled up to 8 days before the start of the rental period, 90% will be charged and if the cancellation occurs 7 days or fewer before the start of the rental period, 100% of the rental price will be charged.

Dreamlike accommodation
We were allowed to spend 3 nights in the Freja house. The house is beautiful, fully equipped with what you need, perfect location for hiking, the fireplace provides a nice warmth. The location is wonderfully quiet and perfect for relaxing.

Super schön
This year we were for the first time in Sweden for a winter vacation at Gala Fjällgard and were absolutely impressed, already from the website alone. It was exactly as described. If you are looking for peace, you will find it there; you can simply relax and unwind from the stressful everyday life. We took advantage of everything possible, from husky sledding to snowmobiling combined with a hike and then sitting by the fire and enjoying the view. We were and are thrilled. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, there was a feel-good effect. We would love to come back and thank Miriam and Christoph for their efforts and always being there when needed. Fantastic family vacation in the snow
We spent our family vacation (2 adults + 2 kids, 11 and 10) over Christmas and New Year in the log cabin "Ull". It was just great!!! Snow, cross-country ski trails at the doorstep, peace, and a fantastic landscape. We went on a dog sledding tour, a snowmobile tour, and smaller snowshoeing hikes. It was fantastic, and we enjoyed the tranquility. We even got to admire the Northern Lights on New Year's Eve.
The hosts, the Schenk family, are very nice and helpful. The bread roll service with homemade bread rolls was also great. We felt very comfortable there and would love to come back.

Comfort in wonderfully quiet surroundings!
We were as a family with two children (15+8) in the identical holiday home Tor this summer at the Schenk family. The houses are very well-maintained and have everything needed for a vacation. (Even possible bread roll service) The hosts are very friendly and eager to help with anything. The surroundings are quiet and natural. Many reindeer and even moose spotted. Took mountain bike tours, hiked, and enjoyed the peace.
