Description
The surpassing image that is provided upon arrival in (Fain les Moutiers) is the breathtaking view in the burgundy landscape.
About 30 km far the eye sweeps through meadows, forests, monastaires and farms in the west of the nature reserve -Morvan- to the south with view of the medieval town -Semur en Auxois- and continue towards -Beaune-.
The artists Susanne and Ralf Rade originating from Stockholm and the Rhineland have build their studios here 20 years ago in the stone walls of an old homestead with a monumental barn, especially because of this inspiring location.
Today this place situated on St Just hill emanates absolute silence, relaxation and contemplation in scenic idyll.
The building is oriented all the way to the south.
The overlying spaces are combined together by a wrought-iron spiral staircaise to a type of loft and from inside out they also offer a view directly into the garden and the adjoining wide plateau.
The lower living area (54m2) has an open kitchen, dining area and at the rear side, a French double bed and seperated shower room/ seperate toilet.
On the first floor an eaqually large room opens out with wide double bed, spacious living area with sofa, seperate toilet and detached bath with view of the countryside. (>photo)
The entire interior has been created with art and craft works, with oak and limestone floors, marble mosaic. The furniture exclusively is of natural wood.
In the outside area there is a garden available for our guests including a private swimming pool (7,20m).
Outdoor dining area 4-6 persons, grill and restplaces further in the garden with aperetif and dining- table.
((Both bedrooms are more or less integrated in to the living area (see photos). The owner wanted to retain the original charm of the two spacious studio rooms, which is specially given in the ground floor by a large-sized limestone mosaic, and on the second level with oak flooring and studio skylight.))

Location and surroundings of object
Everywhere in the villages and small towns of Burgundy, the Tuscany of France, there are interesting churches, mainly in the Romanesque style of construction. Right at the foot of the hill of St. Just within a walk of 15 minutes is the old Moutiers St Jean, founded in 650, with its ancient monastery walls. A visit to the capital city Dijon is highly recommended. Gorgeous castles and manor houses appear here and there, on the way to this place.
Maybe you can draw the circle closer and plan a bike tour for the next day without having to compromise on cultural aspects. (For Castle in Epoisses with a beautiful park,the famous production of-Fromage d epoisses- is situated there aswell- 35 minutes by bike )

There are many castles in the nearby surrounding, that usually offer interesting exhibitions in
St Just is an ancient settement which is attached to Fain les Moutiers,2 km away. Here there are abaut 10 farmsteads with large gardens lined up on the hill.
You can sit here on a beautifull summer evening, perhaps with a glas of wine and look into the open countryside towards the south.
Behind the final horizont line, you might probably dream of the see, Marseille, Lavandou, Nice. This of course is not true, but along this line there is the well known wine-area of central Burgundy -Nuit St. Georges- Beaune-etc., where the famous wines of this region are grown. One and the other finds,-I will go there tomorrow-.
Maybe you can also simply reminise the day with looking on the dark forest areas of the natural reserve -Morvan-, one thinks of the visit in -Avallon- and -Vezelay- with its impressive Basilica -Sainte Madelaine-; or on the left just behind the hills,-Montbard- with an impressionating Cistercian abbaye -Abbaye de Fontenay-.
By the way, in -Montbard-,15 min. from your house, you get to Paris by TGV train in one hour.

... And that's not a slab-cliché: Due to the fabulous location with a view stretching tens of kilometers to the south, one has 7 down from the garden terrace, the pool and the bedroom from the feeling of cloud on the ground watch.
does the atmosphere in the two-storey loft apartment her rest to allow a wonderful holiday: Ralf Räde has made with many small and large details an artwork from the spacious apartment. The equipment is very good, the helpfulness and friendliness of the landlord even better!
The area offers plenty of attractions and excursions - whether you want to travel by bicycle, on foot or by car. Whether you want to see small, historic town, nature or shopping (Dijon!) Preferred.
We will definitely go again and can recommend it!

La location jouit d'un panorama à couper le souffle, c'est rien de le dire. Dans un petit village très tranquille, un jardin très joliment décoré, une piscine. Et le propriétaire était très disponible, nous emmenant du bois pour la cheminée avant qu'il ne vienne à manquer (il voulait même l'allumer à ma place). You pain chaque matin, et la boulangère dans sa camionnette a également of viennoiseries. L'intérieur bien équipé et très confortable. Un très très bon séjour! .................

The essential first: We spent wonderful days in St. Just! Those seeking peace, they will find in this house. Space for total relaxation is given. A car is however necessary because the supply at the site itself is not possible. Mr. Räde, the owner is very friendly and very helpful! The house is very tastefully decorated. It is clean and offers two floors ample space for four people, the sanitary facilities must however share because only present once. The works of art from our own workshop in the house and create a wonderful and unique atmosphere - where else can you find such a thing?
The display corresponds to the expectations it awakens. Who has experience in the rent of holiday homes, they can interpret appropriately analyzed and confirms what is offered. Gladly again!

Although we had no sea, but great landlords who were very helpful and seen daily by the right spot. The accommodation is as described and super beds, a well-stocked kitchen and a breathtaking view make every day special. The pool provided the necessary cooling and, because it was only used by us, was the highlight for our child (,20m deep). The rooms are characterized by their clarity and the purity of the materials used. Living room and at the same time Artwork - this symbiosis was implemented perfectly by the owner and is all present. We had a fantastic time at La Belle Vue and can not recommend it enough. The house is beautiful, and has been converted from an old barn with care and taste, but we spent most of the time in the garden and traveling around. The views from the garden justify the name of the house, and it Offered a peaceful, relaxing spot (interrupted only by our children playing in the pool). It's therefore quite special to be staying in a garden full of sculpture.
The surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling, and with a car you can Easily get to some fantastic places: such as Avallon, Chablis, Morvan, and Vezellay.
Last, and by No Means least, Ralf is an excellent host - engaging and warm, always willing to help and chat, but able to melt into the background so did you really feel it's your home. I lost count of the number of gifts (wine, plums, etc) Ralf provided, and I'm embarrassed to repay his kindness by taking almost three months to write a review!

Great holiday in a great vacation home
We had a wonderful vacation here with a great landlord. The vacation house is big. The equipment leaves hardly anything to be desired. Beautiful garden with great views. Our highlight: the hot tub in the evening with a view of the evening sun or the starry sky. The region here offers a lot. Semur en Auxois, Avallon, Vezelay, the abbey of Fontenay. Cycling along the Canal du Bourgogne.

Super Accommodation
We were able to enjoy the rental for one week, the view of the Burgundy countryside is magnificent, located not far from Semur en Auxois, the geographical location allowed us to easily travel in the north of Burgundy. The setting is calm and relaxing, whether you are looking for a base to visit the region or simply rest, this rental is perfect.

Although this was our fourth visit to St. Just, our enthusiasm for the BelleVue has not waned. The wonderful garden (with a pool for warm or cool weather) and the lovingly furnished house offer pure relaxation

A very pleasant holiday home

An oasis of calm
The accommodation is really an oasis of peace. Wonderfully situated, with a great view from your own pool or whirlpool, it's quite something.

Island of leisure
As city dwellers, we enjoy spending our holidays close to nature and decelerated. With the Bellevue, we have found a place to which we return with great pleasure. In addition to the spacious and tastefully furnished house (where everything was already prepared for a cosy open fire when we arrived), we were particularly taken with the beautiful garden with its wonderful view. Here it is wonderful to relax while watching swallows, hoopoes, cows, sheep and other animals (everything except mosquitoes, which fortunately do not exist here!). For cycling tours, St. Just offers a very suitable starting point: in all directions, roads with little traffic lead through beautiful countryside to pretty places such as Noyers-sur-Serein or to buy cheese in Epoisses. After the return trip up to St. Just, a swim in your own pool is a special treat. Sometimes it is directly difficult to decide between an excursion to a sight (Vézelay, Fontenay etc.) and a lazy day in the garden. - However, we made the decision to come back very quickly!

A special holiday home....
The holiday home in a sensational hillside location with distant views over Burgundy is really something special and completely lives up to or exceeds the description. Absolute tranquillity and a high-quality and creative-artistic interior, embedded in a historic and artistic property. The flat, the whole property, the surroundings and the personal care by the owner, convey not only a special holiday feeling, but also a whole new attitude to life. When the baker's cart reliably pulls up at nine in the morning, probably the only vehicle in the morning hours, this alone conveys the impression of a completely different world and a maximum holiday and memory value. Absolutely recommendable and anytime again!

quiet, authentic and with a view
we may not be able to formulate as flowery as some from Leipzig in May 2014, but we can certainly understand everything. We only did not see Mr. Eichhorn, and also no cherries. But we did enjoy the great apartment, the wonderful garden with pool, the great view, and above all the peace and quiet. Also the baker service. And Mr. Räde was always available with advice and assistance when needed. A truly exceptional place for a peaceful holiday in beautiful nature and in the midst of many cultural attractions in the area. We were thrilled and found everything as we had imagined and hoped for after reading the description. It can't really get any better.

Feel good and enjoy
Beautifully and conveniently located for various excursions in Burgundy, to Auxerre, Beaune, Dijon, Semur, Noyer or Flavigny, Vezelay, Fontenay, Chateauneuf, Chatillon or Chablis, you can find peace in the small hilltop village of Saint Just, a magnificent garden with stone sculptures, and a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Auxois. In addition, there is a well-equipped holiday apartment with small and large extras, and a soothing, unobtrusive care by the landlord on site. Furthermore, there is also a fantastic morning baguette service - highly recommended in any case!

We had a wonderful holiday week in an unusual holiday home with a fantastic view from the garden - and from the bathtub - of the Burgundian landscape. In the garden, which creates a special ambiance with its sculptures, we were able to relax excellently. The host stood out for his great helpfulness and his suggestions for the sights in the area. Not to be overlooked is also the baguette and croissant service for breakfast.

A little bit like in heaven...
... and this is no flat cliché: Due to the fabulous location with a view that extends for miles to the south, from the garden terrace, the pool, and the bedroom, one feels like looking down from Cloud 9 onto the earth. The atmosphere in the two-story loft-like apartment adds to creating a beautiful holiday: Ralf Räde has turned the spacious apartment into a work of art with many small and large details. The equipment is very good, the helpfulness and warmth of the landlord even better!
The surrounding area offers many sights and excursion possibilities - whether you want to be on the road by bike, on foot, or by car. Whether you want to see small, historic towns, prefer nature, or shopping (Dijon!).
We will definitely go back and can recommend it to you too!

Impressionen von St. Just
Saint Just perches on top of the hill like an eagle's nest. Those who ascend will marvel anew, will be surprised, provided they have the luck to stay here for a few days. In addition to crispy warm baguettes, brightly red cherries hanging on the trees, or thick logs for the fireplace, it is the unobtrusive yet memorable traces of very discreet inhabitants he unexpectedly encounters. For example, there is The Wild Hunt, which seems to pass over the roof every morning, scratching, scraping, raging, it has already passed before one has fully woken up. And by the third day at the latest, there would be withdrawal symptoms if one could not witness in astonishment the monkey business that a certain Mr. Eichhorn is up to, which makes one so happy because it suddenly helps us understand how comfortable we are in our bed under the stars, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We can turn over and go back to sleep until – yes, until, gently and melodiously, completely different sounds reach our ears. The drowsy, blinking eye slowly makes out the graceful body they come from. Swaying and reddish-brown feathered, it perches on the wrought-iron railing of the Romeo and Juliet balcony, tilting its head to the side to carefully scan if anyone is watching as it brings breakfast up to its ever-hungry bird children in the wall niche. In the background, the perfect stage set creates the final push to get the sleepy vacationer out of bed, down the beautiful wrought-iron spiral staircase, and to open the door to go out into the garden. From there, the view stretches wide over the landscape of Auxois, spreading out in front of him like a gently undulating patchwork quilt, slowly rising from the morning mists at this time, releasing a herd of cows here, a village in the morning sunlight there. His ear picks up the next sound, quiet, hard to interpret, he has to listen carefully for a long time to locate where this soft grinding and chewing is coming from. Only when he spots a patch of wool here and there in the tall grass behind the wall between the dense stalks, does the enlightenment come - there are gourmet sheep here who prefer to eat instead of mowing. They appreciate good food. The view doesn't matter to them. They gladly leave that to the people. those coming from their cramped and stuffy cities, and of course the majestic Stone Guardian, shield and protector, gazing tirelessly into the distance day and night. The air glides gently and fragrantly over the body and the Willow Woman, who today swings her delicate green skirts gracefully and somewhat coquettishly, always playing with the wind. And with those in need of relaxation, on whose skin it awakens memories. Stones and wood, shaped by the creative power of the homeowner, invite to be touched in their new form and touch the viewer as they miraculously interweave with the garden and the landscape. What could be more natural than to have breakfast in the garden on such a day and watch the swallows take advantage of the opportunity to show off their flying skills. Every time they dive into the water in a steep dive over the pool, splashing up a storm of water touched by their bellies, they not only have a treat in their beaks but also stir the hearts of the spectators. What joy and zest for life! What lightness! Everything that the vacationer longs for and immerses themselves into when they embrace what they find here. If they are open to it, every day and in any weather. And again amazement – that something like this still exists at all, that fantasy and the urge to discover are inspired because they keep encountering exactly that – often, when they have already become art.
