Description
The small but fine beach house "Haus Nordlicht" is an end house part of a group of three and offers space for six people on 90 sqm. It has been built to a high standard and we have also attached great importance to child- and dog-friendly furnishings. Cleanliness is also important to us, so you can be sure to find a thoroughly cleaned house. You will find our Corona protection measures under "additional information".
The details: The house offers you three bedrooms, two bathrooms (each with WC), dishwasher, free WLAN, and of course hairdryer (2x) and iron/ironing board. Washing machine and dryer are available for our guests in the garage. If required, we can provide a high chair and a baby cot at no extra charge. The children's equipment also includes a step stool for 'growing taller' in front of the sink, a small toilet seat, as well as high-quality melamine dishes and cups. You can secure the stairs on the upper floor with two protective grids (roller blinds), so that the upper floor is safe for play.
If you would like to bring a dog, we provide a dog bed and two bowls with a pad.
Two of the bedrooms are spacious, with double beds, large wardrobes and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV in each (first floor and top floor). The third bedroom (first floor) has a very cosy alcove bed of 140 x 200 cm built in under the sloping roof, has to do without a wardrobe, but there is storage space in a chest of drawers, under flaps at the foot end and in the built-in drawers under the bed
There is a shower room on the ground floor and a larger bath room on the first floor, where you can also take a very good shower thanks to a fixed glass wall. The bathrooms are fitted to a high standard.
The living room, which adjoins the spacious kitchen on the ground floor, offers you a beautiful corner fireplace with natural stone surround and glazed doors (unfortunately currently out of use due to fine dust pollution), a wall-mounted TV, a comfortable sofa set with chaise longue and matching armchair. The dining table for up to six people is against the wall, if required for 6 people also free-standing in the room.
From the living room you can access the south-facing terrace made of wooden floorboards. Here you can end the day comfortably in a beach chair for two or eat comfortably at a table for four or five. All floor coverings in the house are white oiled oak floorboards, in the bathrooms the floor is tiled.
Our beach house "Haus Nordlicht" also has plenty of high-quality white joiner's fittings - not just the alcove bed! Built-in cupboards, the stairs to the attic, the double beds, everything in typical Frisian country house style!
Kitchen equipment:
Refrigerator with separate, large freezer, oven, microwave, E-ceran hob, filter coffee machine, Senseo coffee pad machine, milk frother (stand-alone), kettle, toaster, blender and plenty of usual kitchen gadgets such as boards, bread and vegetable knives, pizza cutter, garlic press, bottle opener, etc
Optionally you can book bed linen and towel packages: per person the bed linen costs 11,- € and the towel package 11,- €.
We are happy to provide a baby cot with a full-size mattress and a children's high chair free of charge if required.
If you would like to bring your dog with you, this is no problem. You only pay a one-time amount of 15,- € for the additional cleaning effort. The area is excellent for long dog walks from the front door. A large meadow lies directly in front of the house and via trails you can reach the footpath and cycle path to Wenningstedt/ Kampen from here. Close by is a bridge that leads to the heath landscape opposite - lots of long walks, perfect conditions for dog owners!

Location and surroundings of object
The tranquillity and the direct view of the meadows are what make this holiday home so special. It is located on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of Westerland towards Wenningstedt, surrounded by large meadows and fields. On the map you will see the busy bypass road, but in fact you will hardly notice it and, depending on the wind situation, not notice it at all. The location of the house is also not particularly affected by the airport, as there are only flights during the day and there is no significant air traffic, a little more at the weekend.
So enjoy cycling directly into the countryside, or start nice, long walks with your dog from the house. Westerland, as the capital of the island, naturally offers the greatest variety of entertainment. Here you can spend your holiday as a nature lover, but also experience lifestyle, culture, culinary delights, nightlife and great shopping
It is 1 km to the nearest beach crossing in Westerland (Nordseeklinik) and 2.5 km to the centre on Friedrichstraße. The bakery and the next small supermarket are close to the Nordseeklinik in about 400 m, otherwise you drive to Wenningstedt to Spar Feinkost Meyer 2 km or to Tinnum to Aldi, Lidl and Co. 3 km
In Westerland you are centrally located on the island, because from here the ways in all directions are not far.
You can rent bicycles at many places, perhaps the closest is in Wenningstedt on the main road. Exploring the island by bike from Strandhaus 2 is a wonderful experience, the cycle paths are very well developed. Cycle via Wenningstedt-Braderup and Munkmarsch to Keitum - the oldest Friesian village on the island. From there via Tinnum and Westerland back is a wonderful tour, which you can extend into the Tinnum meadows or shorten via the Keitum country road
On Sylt you are usually well catered for in terms of culinary delights. We have left some recommendations for you in our information folder in the holiday home. In addition to well-known names such as Gosch's "Alte Bootshalle" in List and the "Sansibar" in Rantum, you will also find a few "insiders".

Holidays in Corona times are different - they challenge you and us. We ask you to observe the usual distance and hygiene protection measures. Please bring a mouth-nose protection and if necessary disinfectant and rubber gloves. The keys are handed over contactless: we have a key box at the front door, for which you please ask our housekeeping for a numerical code by telephone shortly before your arrival. Before your arrival, the key box, door handles, window handles, handrails, remote controls and all appliances have been disinfected. Surface disinfectant is used throughout the house and a disinfectant additive is also added to the mop water for the floor. The laundry you book with us is always cleaned at 90°C in the laundry. The dishes were washed at at least 60°C. Please only use rinse programmes with a minimum temperature of 60°C.
Frequent hand washing - for at least 20 seconds - is a very effective protection. We will provide you with hand washing soap.
In order not to endanger our staff unnecessarily, please dispose of all rubbish before you leave and please take any opened food with you.

The house offers everything you need for a nice holiday. Very well equipped, good beds, lots of peace and quiet. Biking and hiking trails are right outside the door. Ideal for dogs

Beautiful, clean, comfortable
The beach house "Haus Nordlicht" is located away from the hustle and bustle on the outskirts of Westerland. Immediately in the green you can go for a nice walk with children and/or dogs. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the beach, and about 10 minutes to the bakery and grocery shop.
The house itself is cosy, has an atmosphere in which we immediately felt comfortable. It is very well equipped, functional and practical.
The small terrace is enough to relax and you can also prepare your food very well with the electric grill and enjoy it in the beach chair. The other seating on the terrace, especially the bench, could be more comfortable - but that is complaining on a high level.
Washing machine and dryer are good and important with children. Special equipment for children was available or provided free of charge on request.
We would rent the house again at any time.

Everything as described.
We enjoyed our short vacation in Sylt very much. The house is great. Very good facilities. It is located slightly outside, but has good public transportation connections. Bakery and grocery store nearby.
