The holiday home is located in the vacation region Elbe River Landscape in the eastern Lüneburg Heath in a quiet location at the edge of the forest in Bleckede, only about 2500 meters from the Elbe and the center of Bleckede, on the Geest ridge, in the immediate vicinity of the Elbe River Biosphere Reserve, the Elbe, and the center of Bleckede. The holiday home is located on a cul-de-sac and is safe from flooding. In the large garden there is a landscaped pond and an artificial stream. There you can make interesting observations. Games like badminton can be played very well on the street, since there is almost no car traffic in the cul-de-sac. Of course, the lawn is perfect for lying down and sunbathing. You can grill wonderfully with the available grill on the terrace.
From the holiday house you can immediately use the well-developed network of cycle paths. Even short or leisurely walks through the woods around the holiday home or through the Breetzer Berge and, of course, along the Elbe are worthwhile.
The town of Bleckede is a small, pretty, historic half-timbered town, a town near Lüneburg located directly on the Elbe with a small Elbe harbor and a ferry connection. The town offers everything you need in terms of shopping, restaurants, cafés, and leisure facilities, as well as doctors and pharmacies if needed. The holiday home is an ideal starting point for cycling tours along the Elbe through the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve, Lüneburg Elbtalaue, the forests or wide expanses of the Elbtalaue and the Geestrücken.
The Biosphaerium Elbtalaue in ElbSchloss Bleckede also houses the tourist information office. There you will also find a large Elbe fish aquarium, a beaver outdoor enclosure can be visited, and afterwards you can go up the observation tower on the old castle keep to get a magnificent view over the Elbe floodplain. Short or extended walks are also possible in and around Bleckede. Day trips by car to the Wendland to visit the round villages, to the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park for a carriage ride through unique heath landscapes, to Hamburg for a harbor tour, to the Heide Park to experience great attractions, or to the beautiful Hanseatic city of Lüneburg with its unique cityscape, museums, and sights are ideal, especially if the weather should not be so good. In addition, the spa town of Bad Bevensen with its beautiful spa gardens is not far away, so you can make the most of the spa facilities, spa concerts, etc.
A special feature is the nearby state forest Göhrde, called "the Göhrde". It is the largest contiguous mixed forest in northern Germany. A visit is definitely worthwhile! You can even plan to go skiing. About 50 minutes by car and you are at the Snow Dome. During the Advent and Christmas season, the Lüneburg Christmas market is no longer an insider tip. One of the most beautiful Christmas markets in northern Germany invites you to really get into the pre-Christmas spirit. The holiday home also offers peace and contemplation. Upon request, the landlord is happy to provide a Christmas tree and conjure up an Advent atmosphere in the holiday home. Over New Year’s, our holiday home is very popular with people who are looking for peace and would prefer to spend the turn of the year quietly and contemplatively—mostly with regard to their dog.

Something else was expected, nonetheless...
We had imagined it somewhat differently. The dog was not allowed to stay alone in the apartment, and in the garden only on a leash. So, the outside coffee drinking is not an option. The cleanliness was not great. Spider webs, toothbrush holders still soiled from the previous tenant, the buttons of the microwave stick, the bowl with guest towels was full of dirt spots.

Schade das es Ihnen nicht zugesagt hat. Das mit dem Hund steht in allen Beschreibungen zum Schutz des Hundes und ist Resultat schlechter Erfahrungen mit unschönen Ergebnissen auch für nachfolgende und Nachnutzer des Gartens und des Hauses. Sie hätten ja, wenn Sie es anders brauchen, nicht mieten müssen. Fleißige Spinnen kennen Sie sicher auch von zu Hause, wie wäre es mit einfach weg machen. Dreckige Becher und klebrige Schalter können nur von Ihnen sein, da wir dies immer sorgfältig reinigen. Sicher werden wir Sie als Gäste nicht mehr begrüßen können, was uns gefällt, da Sie das Ferienhaus auch nicht ordentlich hinterlassen haben.

schönes Ferienhaus
The holiday house is very quiet and well equipped.
My husband and I are active people and enjoy volunteering in social projects. We have been running the holiday home on our property since 2012, because at that time the house became vacant and we didn't want to just leave it empty. We are happy about our holiday guests, because it gives us the one or other interesting encounter and since 1985 we have enjoyed our beautiful property and the restful quiet location together with the small town of Bleckede on the Elbe. Welcome!
