The cottage is situated in the forest, on the banks of the river Bode and is ideal for a group of up to 32 people. There are 4 bedrooms with private bathrooms, 8 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, 1 large kitchen with TV, 1 dining room, 1 large living room with TV, 6 toilets, 1 conservatory room with wood fireplace and biljart, 1 playroom and large garden with barbecue on the river bank.
You rent:
Ground floor of 250 m2 with 6 bedrooms, cake, dining room and playroom, 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets.
On the first floor 180 m2, there are 4 bedrooms with 9 sleeping places and private bathrooms, 1 bedroom with 4 sleeping places and large bathrooms. And a living room with television and conservatory room. Heating house: Central heating. On the second floor 1 bedroom with 4 beds and washbasin
The house was built in 1890 by the general director of the Harzer Pulverfabrik. In GDR times it was a crèche. Today it is a house for holidays and family reunions.
The building is made of environmentally friendly loam and half-timbering, and is clad in wood. The ceilings are up to metres high. The house has been renovated and modernised. The house is lovingly furnished. With the large kitchen and dining room you can be together with large groups. In this house you can live and play. It looks like a Pippy Longstocking house and is therefore very suitable for children. Guests rate the house as pleasant and atmospheric.
The garden has a total surface area of 2300 m2. There is a terrace on the banks of the river Bode, with a barbecue and grill and plenty of space for children to play ball and romp around. Downstairs in the house there is a playroom with table tennis and table football. Upstairs in the garden room is a biljart

Location and surroundings of object
The House named bottom cock head is located in the forest on the banks of the river bode, in a village of six houses. It is directly from the House in the woods for a summer stroll or to the cross-country skiing. The House is a feature in the trail witch stairs. Its location on the river and the edge of the forest attracts deer, Fox and raccoon. Rubeland, Harz, Saxony-Anhalt.
The next place Rubeland on 2 km, is also located on the river bode, and belongs to the Borough of Oberharz am brocken in the District of Harz. Rubeland has caves. The flora of the 478-meter Bieltstein offers a wide variety of rare plants. Also there is a beautiful nature bath for the whole family.

Great!
A great house for large groups!
We have already enjoyed the generosity of the house and the property with its direct location by the Bode and the many quiet (no roads, train lines, airplane routes nearby) for the second time.
Cooking for large groups is also easily possible thanks to the appropriate equipment.
The contact with the local caretaker is friendly and uncomplicated.

Idyllic location - Condition of the house not as described
Three years ago, we booked this idyllic house by the Bode and accepted at that time that the outdoor area was still under construction. This situation was communicated transparently and was understandable for us. During our recent stay last weekend, however, we had to notice that the overall condition of the house has deteriorated significantly and does not meet the expectations raised by the presentation of the property in essential areas. Several equipment and hygiene deficiencies are, in our view, unacceptable: windows and curtains are clearly dirty, the bathrooms are in an inadequate condition, and the bed linen and towels do not appear to be hygienically flawless. Furthermore, parts of the equipment – such as the existing charcoal grills and the ceramic cooktop – are only limited or questionable in usability. Cookware shows significant wear and affects the preparation. We bought wine glasses on-site.
We particularly criticize the technical deficiencies, including poorly functioning drains, a leaking radiator valve, and a defective mixing faucet that only provides very hot water. These issues not only affect comfort but also raise questions about safety.
In this context, we consider the current representation of the house in the published photos to be inappropriate and misleading. We hope and wish for the next guests that the mentioned deficiencies are checked and resolved promptly. We are happy to provide the owner with current images for an objective assessment.

Again and again, gladly!
A beautiful house, we had a family reunion at the white house for the second time. The children also feel very comfortable there, there is plenty of space in the house and outside.

Super house for a big family reunion!
We had a great time with the extended family! The spacious house offers plenty of room. The elaborately renovated house left nothing to be desired. Large, bright rooms, some with private bathrooms. The kitchen is large and practically equipped. The common rooms are nicely furnished and meet all needs.
We were able to sit outside by the river and in the sun and barbecue when the weather was nice.
Many places of interest in the immediate vicinity invite you to make excursions for every taste.
Highly recommended house with lots of charm and the outdoor area has lots of potential!

House on the Bode
The house is very large, the kitchen is an absolute highlight, there are 3 large kitchen areas, 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, 3 sinks, and enough seating space. The rooms are large, on the upper floor there are 3 rooms with their own bathroom. In the garden, you can sit comfortably, make a fire in the stove, and in the fire pit.
The location is not far from two show caves. Very nice house with lots of space and good quality.

Wir haben die Großzügigkeit des Hauses und des Grundstücks mit der direkten Lage an der Bode und der vielen Ruhe (keine Straßen, Bahnlinien, Flugzeugrouten in direkter Nähe) jetzt schon zum zweiten Mal sehr genossen.
Auch für große Gruppen zu kochen ist dank entsprechender Ausstattung gut möglich.
Der Kontakt mit dem lokalen Hausmeister ist freundlich und unkompliziert.

Bei unserem erneuten Aufenthalt am vergangenen Wochenende mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass sich der Gesamtzustand des Hauses erheblich verschlechtert hat und in wesentlichen Bereichen nicht den Erwartungen entspricht, die durch die Präsentation des Objekts geweckt werden.
Mehrere Ausstattungs- und Hygienemängel sind aus unserer Sicht nicht akzeptabel: Fenster und Vorhänge sind deutlich verschmutzt, die Bäder befinden sich in einem unzureichenden Zustand, und Bettwäsche sowie Handtücher wirken nicht hygienisch einwandfrei. Darüber hinaus sind Teile der Ausstattung – wie die vorhandenen Holzkohle- grills und das Ceranfeld – nur eingeschränkt oder fragwürdig nutzbar. Kochgeschirr weist starke Abnutzung auf und beeinträchtigt die Zubereitung. Weingläser haben wir uns vor Ort nachgekauft.
Besonders kritisch bewerten wir die technischen Mängel, darunter schlecht funktionierende Abflüsse, ein undichtes Heizkörperventil sowie eine defekte Mischbatterie mit ausschließlich sehr heißem Wasser. Diese Punkte beeinträchtigen nicht nur den Komfort, sondern werfen auch Fragen hinsichtlich der Sicherheit auf.
Vor diesem Hintergrund halten wir die aktuelle Darstellung des Hauses in den veröffentlichten Fotos für nicht angemessen und irreführend.
Wir hoffen und wünschen uns für die nächsten Gäste, dass die genannten Mängel zeitnah überprüft und behoben werden. Gerne stellen wir dem Eigentümer zur objektiven Einschätzung aktuelles Bildmaterial zur Verfügung.
Angenehm ruhig gelegen.
Wir konnten bei schönem Wetter draußen am Fluss und in der Sonne sitzen und grillen.
Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in der näheren Umgebung laden zu Ausflügen für jeden Geschmack ein.
Sehr empfehlenswertes Haus mit viel Charme und der Außenbereich hat viel Potenzial!

Die Lage ist nicht weit von zwei Besichtigungsschauhöhlen entfernt. Sehr schönes Haus mit viel Platz und guter Qualität.
Es ist super, dass es viele Aufenthaltsräume gibt, so dass man nicht immer aufeinander sitzt. Das Highlight für uns sind die neue überdachte Terrasse (Holz für den Heizofen dort muss man selbst mitbringen) und die riesige Lagerfeuerstelle.
Alle Zimmer sind geräumig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet, und es ist toll, dass es jetzt viel mehr Waschgelegenheiten als früher gibt. Die neue große Küche ist super!
Es ist traumhaft, nach einem Ausflug in den Harz (hier gibt’s mehr zu entdecken als man denkt!) abends auf der Terrasse zu sitzen, den Grill anzuheizen und die munter plätschernde Bode zu betrachten. Entspannung pur.
Der Hausmeister ist übrigens absolut klasse!
Das „Weisse Haus am Fluss“ ist eine tolle Unterkunft für Gruppen, die dem Mehrbetten- und Etagenduschen-Charme von Jugendherbergen entwachsen sind und trotzdem gemeinsam Zeit verbringen wollen. Pippi Langstrumpf ist mit der Renovierung des Hauses erwachsen geworden.

Für uns hatte das Haus genug Charme für sich. Von daher hat es unsere Ansprüche komplett erfüllt und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank auch nochmal an den netten Hausmeister, der ganz unkompliziert bei allen Fragen behilflich war.
Das war das was uns nicht gefallen hat.
Positiv in diesen Haus sind die renovierten Zimmer mit Bad (ohne WC) die Küche und die Lage zu nennen, aber das reicht nicht um sich wohl zu fühlen. Gastlichkeit geht anders. Wir wollten nicht nur meckern und hoffen dass die Probleme abgestellt werden, damit es ein Pippy Langstrumpfhaus wird.
