Description

The cottage is situated in the forest, on the banks of the river Bode and is ideal for a group of up to 32 people. There are 4 bedrooms with private bathrooms, 8 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, 1 large kitchen with TV, 1 dining room, 1 large living room with TV, 6 toilets, 1 conservatory room with wood fireplace and biljart, 1 playroom and large garden with barbecue on the river bank.
You rent:
Ground floor of 250 m2 with 6 bedrooms, cake, dining room and playroom, 3 bathrooms and 4 toilets.
On the first floor 180 m2, there are 4 bedrooms with 9 sleeping places and private bathrooms, 1 bedroom with 4 sleeping places and large bathrooms. And a living room with television and conservatory room. Heating house: Central heating. On the second floor 1 bedroom with 4 beds and washbasin

The house was built in 1890 by the general director of the Harzer Pulverfabrik. In GDR times it was a crèche. Today it is a house for holidays and family reunions.

The building is made of environmentally friendly loam and half-timbering, and is clad in wood. The ceilings are up to metres high. The house has been renovated and modernised. The house is lovingly furnished. With the large kitchen and dining room you can be together with large groups. In this house you can live and play. It looks like a Pippy Longstocking house and is therefore very suitable for children. Guests rate the house as pleasant and atmospheric.

The garden has a total surface area of 2300 m2. There is a terrace on the banks of the river Bode, with a barbecue and grill and plenty of space for children to play ball and romp around. Downstairs in the house there is a playroom with table tennis and table football. Upstairs in the garden room is a biljart

Location and surroundings of object

The House named bottom cock head is located in the forest on the banks of the river bode, in a village of six houses. It is directly from the House in the woods for a summer stroll or to the cross-country skiing. The House is a feature in the trail witch stairs. Its location on the river and the edge of the forest attracts deer, Fox and raccoon. Rubeland, Harz, Saxony-Anhalt.
The next place Rubeland on 2 km, is also located on the river bode, and belongs to the Borough of Oberharz am brocken in the District of Harz. Rubeland has caves. The flora of the 478-meter Bieltstein offers a wide variety of rare plants. Also there is a beautiful nature bath for the whole family.

Again and again, gladly!

A beautiful house, we had a family reunion at the white house for the second time. The children also feel very comfortable there, there is plenty of space in the house and outside.
Pleasantly quiet location.

Super house for a big family reunion!

We had a great time with the extended family! The spacious house offers plenty of room. The elaborately renovated house left nothing to be desired. Large, bright rooms, some with private bathrooms. The kitchen is large and practically equipped. The common rooms are nicely furnished and meet all needs.
We were able to sit outside by the river and in the sun and barbecue when the weather was nice.
Many places of interest in the immediate vicinity invite you to make excursions for every taste.
Highly recommended house with lots of charm and the outdoor area has lots of potential!

House on the Bode

The house is very large, the kitchen is an absolute highlight, there are 3 large kitchen areas, 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, 3 sinks, and enough seating space. The rooms are large, on the upper floor there are 3 rooms with their own bathroom. In the garden, you can sit comfortably, make a fire in the stove, and in the fire pit.
The location is not far from two show caves. Very nice house with lots of space and good quality.

Great house for relaxing and for large groups.

We have been regular guests at this house for many years and always come with a larger group.
It's great that there are many common areas, so you don't always have to sit on top of each other. The highlight for us is the new covered terrace (you have to bring your own firewood for the heater) and the huge bonfire pit.
All the rooms are spacious and functional, and it's great that there are now many more washing facilities than before. The new large kitchen is awesome!
It's fantastic to sit on the terrace in the evening after a trip to the Harz (there's more to discover here than you think!), light up the grill, and watch the lively Bode River. Pure relaxation.
By the way, the caretaker is absolutely fantastic!
The "White House by the River" is a great accommodation for groups who have outgrown the charm of bunk beds and shared showers in youth hostels but still want to spend time together. Pippi Longstocking has grown up with the renovation of the house.
We will be back!

Beautiful house situated idyllically

We came to the White House for a family gathering and felt very comfortable! The check-in was uncomplicated and we were greeted nicely! The house offered us more than enough space (17 people). The kitchen equipment is great! We cooked big meals every day and didn't miss any utensils! The living area is cozy and the rooms perfect for retreat. Even in February, the surrounding area was inviting, with the creek right by the house and fields and forest around the corner.
Highly recommended, we will come back :)

Beautiful house in a great location

The White House on the River completely won us over with its charm and idyllic location directly on the Bode. We spent a great weekend there with 25 people. Due to the spacious rooms, the large kitchen and the cosy living room, the house is also well suited for larger groups. Situated in a quiet valley, with a large garden and direct access to the river, the house invites you to relax, especially in summer (barbecue equipment was also completely available). In a radius of approx. 15 min. by car, many of the highlights in the Harz mountains such as the Teufelsmauer, the Rappbodetalsperre or Wernigerode can be reached easily. Some renovations and cosmetic repairs to the house are certainly still to be carried out (e.g. in the outdoor area) and the rooms could be furnished with a little more attention to detail. However, this should all be done by next year
For us, the house had enough charm of its own. Therefore, it completely fulfilled our expectations and we would come back anytime. Many thanks to the nice caretaker, who helped us with all our questions in an uncomplicated way.

We can recommend the house very well

We really liked the White House on the River with its idyllic location directly on the River Bode. We, a group of people with disabilities (14 people + carers), were able to spend a great 4 weeks in the house. We were one of the first groups to occupy the house after the renovation. Of course, there were still a few small things missing, but we could overlook that. We liked the spacious kitchen, TV room, games room, recreation rooms, washing machine, dryer, gas barbecue and also the large garden overlooking the river Bode. The house had many advantages for us and fully met our requirements. Thanks also to the caretaker, who was always uncomplicated and helpful with his expertise and friendliness

We can highly recommend the house!

Not very inviting.

We had rented the house for a weekend and a family celebration. We also knew that there was still renovation work going on outside. However, the renovation is far from complete inside as well. In the hallway, there are light switches without covers. Many windows cannot be opened. These are old wooden double windows, which wouldn't really be a problem if it weren't for the many dead insects inside. These can also be found in some lampshades. That was also the actual problem, the cleanliness, shabby chairs with burn holes, cobwebs on the walls, the dining tables dirty, which is not surprising since neither tablecloths nor saucers are available. The outdoor area is not yet beautiful. The terrace by the river consists of a crumbling concrete slab, and the wall looks like it is about to collapse at any moment. Part of it is fenced off by a wire fence. The chairs and tables were ancient, rotting, and partially unusable.
That was what we didn't like.
Positive aspects of this house are the renovated rooms with bathrooms (without toilet), the kitchen, and the location, but that is not enough to feel comfortable. Hospitality is different. We didn't just want to complain and hope that the problems will be fixed so that it becomes a Pippi Longstocking-style house.

Danke fur ihr bewertung.
Wir haben fur ein halbes Jahr eine ganz grosse Renoviering gemacht um das Haus fertig zu haben fur dem Sommer. Da ist ein neue Kuche, sieben neue Badezimmer, ein neue Spielzimmer, ein neue TV Zimmer, neue fliesen und das complette Haus ist von innen gemahlt. Neue Sthule sind unterweg und die Venster werden im nachseizon repariert.
Wir haben sie gemeldet wan Sie gebucht haben das das Haus niet complet fertig war aber das es viel besser ist wie auf die foto's die dabei gehorren . Und wir haben die alte Preis fur Sie berechnet.
In kommendes Herbst und Winter werd das Haus complet fertig gemacht und hoffentlich kommen Sie noch mal das weisse Haus am Fluss anschauen und mitmachen wie schon die Harz ist
