Description
The spacious and comfortable holiday home Domaine La Ganiere is situated on the slopes of France's most beautiful nature park, the Cévennes. The house is located in an enclosed garden with a swimming pool on the edge of a small village.
The house accommodates up to 12 people, distributed across 2 gîtes. It features a spacious private driveway with space for our guests' four cars.
In the main building, the living room is accessible via an external staircase, which largely opens onto a spacious terrace on the first floor.
At the front of the house, on the ground floor, there is another large terrace with garden furniture and a long dining table under a pergola covered with climbing plants and wisteria. This terrace provides access to the garden with the swimming pool.
The holiday home consists of a large open-plan living room, four bedrooms (with a double bed or two single beds), and a children's room adjacent to one of the double bedrooms (with a single bed and a cot or two cots). There are two bathrooms, both with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. A well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, and microwave.
La Domaine also includes a gîte with 1 bedroom (double bed or 2 single beds) on the ground floor. "La Petite" has a private entrance, parking space, and a private terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue. The house is single-story and fully furnished with a living room, kitchen, 1 bedroom, and 1 bathroom.
High-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, and there is a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, but you can also stream from your own devices.
In the summer house, you will find cushions for the garden furniture, games, and a number of tennis and badminton rackets. There is a tennis court within walking distance of our gîte.
Awarded 3 "Etoiles de France" stars (French for "Stars of France").
The owners live on the grounds in a separate section and maintain the garden and pool daily, allowing you to enjoy your holiday in complete privacy.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located on the outskirts of the village of Gagnières and owes its name to the river La Ganière that flows near our house. The house is detached and is situated in an enclosed garden of 1250 m2 with a spacious swimming pool and unobstructed views of the Cevennes. The bakery, a small shop and some restaurants can be reached on foot or by bike. A large supermarket can be reached within 10 minutes by car.
What does the region have to offer? The holiday home is an excellent base for exploring both the Cevennes and the South Ardeche. In the Cevennes you can combine nature, culture and sports activities well. You can take beautiful walks or bike rides and swim in the clear bathing water of the many rivers along the way. Those who want more of a challenge can go rafting, canoeing or kayaking from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. In addition, there are dozens of castles and museums in our area, not to mention beautiful old villages such as Barjac, St. Ambroix and Les Vans where there is a flea market every week. The Gard also has many activities to offer for children.
In terms of location, Gagnières is perfect for visiting Provencal towns such as Avignon, Nîmes, Orange and Uzès. The Mediterranean can be reached in an hour and a half.

You can swim in the rivers in the area such as the Cèze, La Ganière, Chassezac (early or late season) and the Gorges de l'Ardeche (all seasons). You will also find beautiful gorges and beaches. The Lac de Villefort, a large mountain lake, is also recommended. In addition to good bathing water and various beaches, there is also a good walking path around the entire lake.
For those who want to spend the day more actively, there are several options in the immediate vicinity. You can take breathtaking canoe trips of different lengths. In addition, there are endless opportunities for hiking, cycling / mountain biking in the endless rolling hills in the area.
You can also view the area on horseback. Guided horseback rides are organized by the horse farm "le Malibaud". If you are interested in flora and fauna, the boat trip with the "Confrerie de bateliers de l'Ardeche" is a must. They organize day trips through the "Réserve Naturelle", one of the most beautiful protected natural areas in France.
Would you rather play a game of golf? Then you can play on the 18-hole golf course in Nîmes.
There is also a wide variety of activities for children. You will find excitement and thrills at the Grand Bois. Curious how crocodiles live? Visit the crocodile zoo. For children and adults, you can also visit the Haribo Museum near Uzès.
It is fun for the whole family to take a trip through the Cevennes with the Anduze steam train. This tour can easily be combined with a visit to the bamboo forest "La Bambouseraie".
