Pure relaxation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at DeRIBOT and the friendly and uncomplicated "care" by Mr. Gihr. The 18 days flew by, undoubtedly also due to the diverse possibilities in Gard. We only managed a fraction of what we could have done. But, we were also on vacation and relaxing in the beautiful courtyard of DeRIBOT was often too tempting... Therefore, we are definitely planning to return and are already looking forward to it!

definitely experience it yourself

We had a wonderful holiday with our 2 boys. Bathing in the river, at the Ardeche, the Tarn Gorge, the beaches of the Camargue where you really see the flamingos and much more can be experienced from the holiday home. Unforgettable are the great tips from our "tour guide" Detlef. Thanks to his recommendations, we went on beautiful excursions without having to study a travel guide ourselves. Maison de Ribot has everything you need. Our holiday was perfect for us and we will definitely come back, because according to Mr. Gihr, we have not seen everything yet.

Relaxation and pure nature

We - family with 2 children plus dog - spent a dream week at Le Ribot at the beginning of 08/20. The house is perfectly located - from the morning spontaneous walks in the mountains behind to swimming in clean rivers, canoeing, or hiking on the well-marked trails of the region, there is a new adventure possible daily. In addition, there are countless sightseeing opportunities in the region and exceptionally good gastronomy. Despite the current coronavirus situation, we have felt completely safe and free at all times - the region is rather sparsely populated and, in our experience, the local population definitely adheres to the common rules comparable to those in Germany. The house itself is very well equipped - sufficiently spacious for 4 adults and 2 children - and spotlessly clean. Not to forget is also the breakfast service provided by the host, Mr. [Name]. Gihr, who took us to the bakery every day - thank you very much! His tips on excursions and activities in the region are priceless as they are usually not available in any travel guide, etc. Unfortunately, we could only explore a fraction of the available options - we will be back! Thank you for the wonderful time!

Beautiful and relaxing holiday in the Cevennes with very competent excursion advice.

The rustic holiday home is ideal for holidaymakers who like to retreat in the evening to barbecue undisturbed and indulge in their pleasures with wine, cider, local beer varieties, or Perrier mineral water with or without pastis, along with enjoying pelardons and other Southern French delicacies bought at the many authentic markets. Don't worry if it gets late in the evening, Mr. Gihr will bring you fresh baguettes and croissants in the morning upon request. You can also get very interesting excursion tips with detailed insider tips by talking to Mr. Gihr. This type of vacation is a brilliant recommendation for creative and empathetic travelers who take their holiday activities into their own hands to discover and get to know the country and its people.

Holiday from everyday life in the Cevennes

We have now spent our vacation at Maison DeRIBOT for two years in a row and still have not been able to implement all the tips provided by our host, Mr. Gihr. Whether it's a trip to the Cevennes, paddling on the Tarn, river walking in the Luech, cliff jumping at the Ardeche, dune hiking and wave jumping in the Camargue, or leisurely strolling through a market... we have never experienced so much variety and tranquility - with so much comfort! A heartfelt thank you for the great time!

Mit dem Motorrad in den Cevennen

In the last week of May, the five of us arrived here. The accommodation has been lovingly renovated and is something special.

We really liked the landscape and hiking possibilities in the Cevennes. We will definitely visit this wonderful region again. Also, we will come back to Ribot. We really enjoyed it.

The group also wants to thank for the technical support. In the end, we were able to ride every day. We wouldn't have trusted it if the battery light (on a BMW) was on.

Comfortable accommodation with an authentic atmosphere.

We spent a wonderful week for three in this charming house. There is space for a larger family or group comfortably. Being part of an old hamlet, this accommodation offers a historical flair, lovingly renovated with the conveniences of our modern world. Previously, I admired such picturesque buildings from the outside; here, sightseeing is combined with being at home. One is here for oneself, but always has the opportunity to ask for tips and information from the neighbor and caretaker Mr. Gihr. If the house is fully booked, one can also try their luck to stay in one of the even more luxurious apartments in his Chatibot (also in this hamlet). You can go hiking directly from the house, go on quite impressive bike tours, and with a car or motorcycle, you have a huge range of worthwhile destinations/routes. The bread at the local bakery is excellent. The household equipment is ample, and in colder weather, you can even heat with wood in the oven. I will definitely choose this house as my first choice for future trips to this beautiful area. The atmosphere is also very fairly priced. Full recommendation from me and my family, and many thanks to Mr. Detlef Gihr for making this kind of holiday living possible with him and his neighbors.

Typisch Cevennen

We arrived with three people, parents and a teenager, and found a very beautiful, typical stone house in the Cevennes. It is tastefully furnished and lacks nothing in equipment. You can relax excellently there, the spacious, sheltered terrace invites you. The house is an ideal starting point to explore the surroundings. There were wonderful places where you could swim or hike. Mr. Gihr's recommendations were excellent. Markets, towns, gorges with bathing spots and cliffs for jumping into the cool water in a fantastic setting. We felt very comfortable. Definitely recommendable.

Idylle pur

We have spent our vacation in France many times, but this is one of the most beautiful corners of France. All three major rivers, Cèze, Ardèche, and Gardon, with many swimming opportunities, are easily accessible. The mountains of the Cevennes are practically at the doorstep, and it is about 130-140 km to the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean Sea. Here, you are in the best hands with Detlef Gihr, the caretaker of the house. He knows every spot and is happy to advise and accommodate the wishes of his guests. This allowed us to enjoy an exciting and relaxing holiday here without much reading. The house is lovingly restored, well-equipped, very clean, and corresponds to the description. It exceeded our expectations. Not to forget the beautiful evenings on the roof terrace and also in the garden. We really enjoyed the bread service and the excellent care from Mr. Gihr. A beautiful holiday destination where we would love to come back again.

A very nice vacation with children and a dog.

We are very happy to have booked this vacation. Everything was perfect! Living like a god in France.

A beautiful and original house, very peacefully situated, close to nature but not far from the nearest town. A garden like a dream, topped by a sun terrace with a fantastic view. The comfort is good, with access to German TV channels and problem-free WiFi in the house and garden. A well-located starting point for excursions to the Ardèche, the Cévennes, the sea, or the very charming cities of Nîmes, Uzès, or Barjac. Highly recommended even with children or pets.
The helpful, German-speaking landlord brought us fresh baguette and croissants every morning and provided us with many tips (swimming spots, restaurants, etc.).
We will definitely come back.

Southern French charm and absolute tranquility.

As a couple, we spent our vacation in Maison De Ribot in September 2017 and felt so comfortable that we even extended our stay for an extra week. We could address any questions to the German neighbor, Mr. Gihr, who also takes care of the property rental, delivers fresh bread in the morning, and quickly resolved the internet issues we had on the first day. The house has everything you need. The kitchen is well-equipped, with a dishwasher and washing machine available. The old house has been lovingly restored and furnished, especially for those who appreciate a somewhat antique style. For people with limited mobility, accessing the bedrooms upstairs via the narrow staircase could be difficult. Please inquire beforehand. We offer various excursions (climbing, paddling, hiking, cycling, flea market, etc.). ) we also often just enjoyed the peace at the house and the beautiful surroundings.

Eine traumhafte Zeit

We spent two very beautiful weeks there in June. On the one hand, we enjoyed the tranquility, and on the other hand, we explored the fantastic area during our daily discovery tours. Vacation "at the castle" at the end of the valley.

We had actually planned to spend our vacation in the holiday home CHATIBOT owned by Mr. Gihr. Unfortunately, it was already fully booked, but fortunately he arranged for us to stay at the neighboring Maison DeRibot, which he also manages.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the old natural stone building and slept excellently. We especially enjoyed the wild-romantic, large outdoor area, which culminates in a sun terrace that towers over everything else and offers a great view of the Cevennes landscape.

Many thanks to Mr. Detlef Gihr for his excursion tips. There is something to discover in every direction, he knows the area perfectly and had many great insider tips for us. If we had any questions, he was immediately available for us, and particularly noteworthy and highly appreciated by us was his daily "bread service" with crispy baguette and fresh croissants.

We would gladly come back - heartfelt thanks once again to you, dear Mr. Gihr!
