The booking through the hotel's own website went smoothly and worked well. Until arrival. I had booked a family room for myself and my two children (that's also what it says on the booking, but in the subject it always states 2 Adults 1 child). When I stood at the reception in the evening, the booking could not be found in the system at first (due to. System change, because the hotel is said to have changed owners), to then inform me that unfortunately no triple family room was available anymore (because the hotel was fully booked), but we would have to settle for the last available double room with a double bed. My children are not that small anymore, but it worked somehow, we had to sleep somewhere. A third blanket would have been nice though. But I also didn't feel like going back to the reception again. The receptionist kindly added breakfast for us the next day for free. It was well-intentioned, but it didn't really help us, as we had intentionally not booked it and wanted to leave early. There was another problem when returning the key/checking out in the morning. I just wanted to hand in the card, and then there was the comment: "One moment, we need to check the computer briefly." Then the question of whether I had already paid. I had paid via PayPal, but it was not recorded in the hotel's booking system. After some discussion, the lady was then satisfied with my assurance, as there was nothing about it in the booking confirmation in my emails. Just the deduction from me via PayPal. Despite my rather mediocre experience: the staff was nice and trying to find a solution, the hotel is well located (only a few minutes to Phantasialand, where it seemed all guests wanted to go), clean inside, and overall quite tidy and presentable. Ultimately, however, not what one wishes for when one has booked bindingly, arrives late with the children, and actually just wants to quickly get to the room. Overall, therefore, not a positive experience. I hope, however, that this was an isolated case and actually due to a system change.

Die Buchung über die hoteleigene Webseite verlief noch unkompliziert und hat auch gut geklappt. Bis zur Ankunft. Ich hatte ein Familienzimmer für mich und meine zwei Kinder gebucht (so steht's auch auf der Buchung, im Betreff aber immer 2 Adults 1 child). Als ich dann abends an der Rezeption stand, konnte erst die Buchung im System nicht gefunden werden (wg. Systemumstellung, weil das Hotel den Eigentümer gewechselt haben soll), um mir dann mitzuteilen, dass leider kein Dreibett-Familienzimmer mehr frei sei (weil das Hotel ausgebucht war), sondern wir uns mit einem letzten verfügbaren Doppelzimmer mit Doppelbett begnügen müssten. Meine Kinder sind nicht mehr ganz so klein, ging aber irgendwie, irgendwo mussten wir ja schlafen. Eine dritte Bettdecke wäre aber ganz nett gewesen. Ich hatte dann aber auch keine Lust mehr nochmal zur Rezeption zu gehen. Kulanterweise hat uns der Rezeptionist dann das Frühstück am nächsten Tag umsonst zugebucht. Nett gemeint, hat uns aber nicht wirklich geholfen, da wir es bewusst nicht gebucht hatten und früh los wollten/sind. Bei der Schlüsselabgabe/dem Checkout morgens wieder ein Problem. Wollte nur die Karte abgeben, da kam gleich der Hinweis: Momemt, man müsse kurz im Computer schauen. Dann die Frage, ob ich schon bezahlt hätte. Hatte ich per Paypal, war aber im Buchungssystem im Hotel nicht hinterlegt. Nach einiger Diskussion hat sich die Dame dann mit meiner Beteuerung zufrieden gegeben, da auf der Buchungsbestätigung in meinen Mails nichts darüber drin stand. Nur halt die Abbuchung bei mir bei Paypal. Trotz meiner eher mäßigen Erfahrung: das Personal war nett und um Lösung bemüht, das Hotel liegt gut (nur wenige Minuten zum Phantasialand, wo wohl gefühlt alle Gäste hin wollten), innen auch sauber und insgesamt recht ordentlich und ansehnlich. Letztlich aber nicht das was man sich wünscht, wenn man verbindlich gebucht hat, spät mit den Kindern ankommt und eigentlich nur noch schnell auf's Zimmer möchte. Insgesamt also keine positive Erfahrung. Ich hoffe aber das war ein Einzelfall und tatsächlich auf eine Systemumstellung zurückzuführen.
