The Sweden Chalet is located in a beautiful, quiet village in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. Hikes and mountain bike tours are possible right from the doorstep. The national park with many sights (e.g. treetop path, wildlife enclosure, etc.) is only a few minutes away by car. In winter, the snow-sure family ski area Mitterdorf is available – ideal for beginners (ski courses and ski equipment can be booked on site) and with affordable dining options. Cultural variety is offered by the three-river city of Passau as well as the World Heritage Site of Krumau on the Moldau. The famous fashion temple Garhammer with its star-rated restaurant, swimming pools, ice rinks, cinema, and also museums in the surrounding area offer variety even in bad weather. Within walking distance there is an Edeka supermarket; in nearby Freyung (about 5 minutes by car) there are several very good restaurants, pizzerias, and cafés. With the flyline at Almberg (Mitterdorf), experience summer from a new perspective: glide gently and almost silently through the forest for nearly 2,000 meters. With a speed of up to 12 km/h and a ride time of around 15 minutes, the focus is not on thrills, but on enjoying nature.
