The breakfast room could use a little tidying up, but overall, this hotel is in a fantastic downtown location, close to both the main train station and shopping areas, For a peaceful stay, I recommend requesting a room facing the courtyard, The beds are quite comfortable and the amenities are clean and practical, even if they aren't brand new, The hotel is situated within a large office complex and is easily accessible via an elevator, The breakfast offered is enjoyable, and the views from the dining area are quite stunning,

While it's not a complaint, we did notice that our room had hardwood floors, whereas others seemed to have carpeting, It made me wonder if we were in a more standard room compared to the others, We arrived in the morning, and although check-in wasn't until 3 pm, we tried to see if we could get in a bit earlier since we had a toddler with us, We arrived around 1:30 pm and asked if it was possible, but the staff was quite firm in sticking to the check-in time, I understand the need for policies, but a little more warmth in their response would have been appreciated given our situation, On a positive note, the location is fantasticright in the heart of the city and close to the train station, The breakfast team was also very courteous and eager to assist,

The hotel does not have its own parking garage, but you can easily park in the parking garage in Freistuhl, which, however, must be paid for by yourself. If you arrive on holidays or outside of regular opening hours, the hotel can open the parking garage for you – just call in advance! The location is perfect, right in the city center, and thanks to the rooms on the 3rd to 5th floor, it is pleasantly quiet. Our room was very spacious and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We spent Christmas there and it was simply wonderful.

The breakfast was okay, but I would have liked more variety; scrambled eggs would have been a great addition, and the rolls weren't quite fresh, which I found disappointing. A second coffee machine would have been helpful, as sometimes you had to wait a bit. The staff was friendly, but it would have been nice if they had reset the tables more quickly. For next time, I would try the bakery downstairs. The location of the hotel was fantastic! We could go directly to the Christmas market and after a few mulled wines, fall relaxed into bed. The lady at the reception was super nice and really made our stay enjoyable.

The bathtub was really nice, but it could be a bit difficult for people with limited mobility. The room was in good shape, even though its age is noticeable. A power outlet near the bed would have been practical. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were generously sized, and I really appreciated the kettle. The bed was comfortable for sleeping. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and offered a good selection. The location was excellent, as the subway was just a few steps away. Both the train station and the Westfalenhalle were quickly reachable. Overall, I would definitely come back.

The hotel is easy to overlook, as it is located in a commercial building on Kampstraße on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. The only recognizable marking is the 'Mercure' sign high up. The access to the elevators is inconspicuous, and only a small sticker on the doorbell indicates that you are in the right place. However, the location is ideal, right in the city center and just a short walk from the main train station. The subway station is also just around the corner. The lobby on the 3rd floor is inviting, and the rooms as well as the bathroom are very nice. The price is reasonable, especially since a delicious breakfast is included in the price.
