DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY OF PULA
PULA is the largest city in the Istria County. It is known for its well-preserved ancient buildings, the most famous of which is the Roman amphitheater, popularly called the Arena, which is still used today during the summer film festival and various other cultural events. The other two significant and well-preserved ancient Roman buildings in Pula are: the Arch of the Sergii and the Temple of Augustus. Pula is well connected with nearby islands and towns by road and sea transport, and also has an international airport connected to many cities in Europe.
PLACES AND SIGHTS IN THE VICINITY OF PULA
BRIJUNI NATIONAL PARK is a group of 14 islands and islets covered with Mediterranean vegetation, offering tourists an experience of untouched nature. They are rich in cultural-historical landmarks and residential villas. On the archipelago there are an ethno-park and a safari park with numerous indigenous and exotic animal species.
FAŽANA is a small fishing and tourist town that offers numerous small restaurants on the coast. Their menus include various fish and other specialties. It is located opposite Brijuni National Park, and from its port boats depart daily towards the archipelago.
VODNJAN is a historic town in the interior of southern Istria. It is known for its top-quality olive oil. The Church of St. Blaise preserves world-famous relics and the preserved mummies of saints.
Cape Kamenjak is located at the southernmost part of the Istrian peninsula. It is characterized by a highly indented coastline with more than 30 picturesque coves washed by crystal clear and transparent sea. At Kamenjak, the area can be actively experienced by walking along educational trails, walking the Dinosaur Trail, and viewing their footprints. BRIONI SUNNY CAMPING is exceptionally clean and beautifully arranged with plenty of Mediterranean vegetation. The seaside restaurant, mini market, bakery, fruit shop, cafés, pizzeria, and ATM are just some of the services that provide quick access to necessary items. They are located 500 meters from the sea. The diving club should not be forgotten. Entrance is free for all visitors, both for those staying at the campsite and for outside guests.
