Imagine an endless golden sandy coast stretching for kilometers along the Ionian Sea, framed by olive groves and gentle hills. Here, in Agios Georgios Argyrades (also called Agios Georgios South), you will find exactly what many holidaymakers are looking for: peace, natural beauty, and the genuine, unhurried soul of Corfu – far away from the hustle and bustle of the big tourist resorts.

### What to expect
One of the longest and most beautiful sandy beaches on the island. The fine, golden sand gently merges into shallow, crystal-clear water – ideal for families with children, for relaxed swimming, and long walks by the sea. Parts of the beach are organized with loungers and sunshades, others remain natural and free. The sea is usually calm and warm, with wonderful clarity.

Directly behind the beach and along the main road you will find friendly, family-run tavernas with fresh fish, classic Greek dishes, and Corfiot specialties. Small supermarkets, bakeries, and souvenir shops cover daily needs. There are water activities, boat tours, and the opportunity to explore the nearby Korission Lagoon nature reserve – a paradise for nature and bird lovers (sometimes even with flamingos).

### The atmosphere

Quiet, relaxed, and welcoming. No loud nightlife, but pleasant evenings with the sound of the sea, good food, and friendly locals. Many accommodations are small hotels, apartments, and studios, often with direct or very short access to the beach.

### How to get there
About 30–35 km south of Corfu town (around 45–60 minutes’ drive). Most convenient by rental car, but also accessible by bus (Green Bus lines). The village is located on the southwest coast, near the neighboring beaches of Issos and Marathias.

Hallo zusammen,
Ich war mit meinem Familie hier zum Urlaub zu machen aber nach der Urlaub brauchen wir Urlaub, wir haben für 17 tage diese kleine haus mit 4 Personen gebucht , die lage oder eher gesagt die Ortschaft ist schön nur erstens es gibt keine pool und es gibt keine Fernseher im gesamten komplex, was uns sehr sehr gestört hat das mann nicht zum erholen da ist sondern schlimmer als knast weil mann 24 /7 unter Beobachtung ist,....
Die Einrichtung ist sehr sehr alt und muffig mann hat immer wieder mit farbe über gestrichen trotzdem könnte man nichts im schränke benutzen weil es sehr mufft , selbst der kühlschrank und Dunstabzugshaube haube wurde lackiert bei der tages preis höhe in 115€ könnten sie wenigstens eine neue kühlschrank kaufen aber nein mann lackiert einfach nur drüber es hat etwas mit Hygiene zu tun. Mann darf nicht die Klimaanlage benutzen wenn die Tür oder fenster offen ist. Meine Töchter sind erwachsen wollten sich gerne auf die Sonnenliege sich hinlegen aber das ging nicht weil mann nur beobachtet wurde es ist nicht schön und der aller krönung ist die Wohnung wurde einfach betreten ohne bescheid zu sagen so was gehört sich nicht . Wir haben in etlichen Ländern Urlaub gemacht wo die tages Preise sogar bei 20€ lag und könnte man Klimaanlage benutzen und mann ist nicht unter Beobachtung, meine töchte haben ihr Urlaub eine Woche vorher abgebrochen weil sie sich unwohl gefühlt haben.
Deshalb würde ich persönlich diese Unterkunft nicht weiterempfehlen.
