It is a popular area for diving, fishing, surfing, and sailing. The miles-long, uncrowded North Sea beach is ideal for swimming, lounging, hiking, sand castle building, kite flying, and power buggy riding. Take a break in the numerous beach venues and discover the delicacies of Zeeland; mussels, oysters, crabs, etc. Behind one of the most beautiful dune areas lies the largest forest of Zeeland, the Boswachterij Westenschouwen, with many beautiful hiking, cycling, mountain biking, and horse riding trails. Here live roe deer, fallow deer, pheasants, hares, and rabbits. With some luck, you can also see ponies, wild horses, and Scottish Highland cattle. Visit picturesque places like Zierikzee, Renesse, Goes, Middelburg, Veere. A visit to the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwerkerk or Neeltje Jans, where one can closely examine the coastal protection of the "Delta Works", water attractions, and enjoy beautiful shows, is also a must.
Boat tours from Osse across the Grevelingenmeer and from Burgsluis across the Oosterschelde are also recommended.

Restful Days
A great house! Everything was really thought of in the kitchen equipment. We lacked nothing else. Everything you need is really available. Very quiet location, you look out onto fields from the garden - simply perfect. Shopping opportunity in immediate proximity. Very friendly and pleasant communication with the landlord. We would recommend the house at any time.

Short vacation in Scharendijke
We spent a short vacation in Scharendjike at the end of September 2025.
I can only say that the house is great. It is nicely furnished and very well equipped, with a lot of decoration and lamps. You can immediately tell that the owners have invested a lot of effort and especially love into this house. The location is quiet on the edge of the park, and from the terrace and the living room, you have a great view of the fields. On a warm day, we had breakfast on the terrace and enjoyed the view of the fields.
The kitchen is more than adequately equipped. The bathrooms are modern. The bedrooms are nice. The house is clean. The driveway is long enough that we could park two cars.
The caretaker service was friendly, helpful, and easily reachable by phone.
The contact with the couple Greifenberg was very warm. All in all, a successful vacation despite the changeable autumn weather.
