Altenkirchen-Schwarbe on Rügen: picturesque, small village on the Baltic Sea.
As the crow flies, 500 m to the beach. Reachable on foot in about 35 minutes. By bicycle in about 15 minutes. By car, one can drive to a parking lot and walk for about 15 minutes. However, there are several other access points to the beach where one can park directly.
Family-friendly vacation home in Schwarbe, located in the triangle between Nordstrand Nonnevitz, Cape Arkona, and Schaabe. Everything is very accessible.
A vacation here in the far north of the island best conveys the originality of the landscape/nature. In this environment is our holiday home, which was created with much love and effort to provide you with all the conveniences of home.
The town of Altenkirchen, where you can find a supermarket, bakery, beverage market, ATM, gas station, hairdresser, etc., is about 4 km away. In the northwest near Nonnevitz/Bakenberg, you will reach the mile-long, white and wide Northern beach between the cliff coast and the turquoise Baltic Sea. Heading northwest, after a few minutes via the village of Varnkevitz, you will reach the cliff coast. Turning right there, you can ride along the cliff coast with an unparalleled view of the turquoise Baltic Sea, following the idyllic bike path to the second Northern beach and up to Cape Arkona. Here you stand at the northernmost point of the island, which, with its well-known lighthouse, is of great significance for maritime routes. Putgarten with its unique cultural character invites you to linger here.
Not to forget the UNESCO-protected fishing village of Vitt, which is just a stone's throw away below the cape.
To the southeast of our holiday home, you will find the seaside resort of Breege/Juliusruh. Here you will find on a narrow strip of land, which on the map resembles the shape of a crescent, on one side the kilometers-long, white sandy beach of the so-called Schaabe and on the other side the Wittow Lagoon, which due to its calm & warm waters is popular with water sports enthusiasts (water skiing, parasailing) and families with small children. The special location of our holiday home is characterized by the fact that, on the one hand, you can find peace whenever you wish, and on the other hand, you always have the option to visit one of the nearby tourist-oriented resorts or explore cultural attractions, which include: Glowe, Breege/Juliusruh, Cape Arkona, Vitt, Dranske, Wittower Ferry, Hiddensee, Sassnitz, Jasmund National Park... Additionally, for those interested, just a few hundred meters away there is a riding stable (Schwarbe-Siedlung), which organizes rides on the beach and offers riding lessons.
Here in the north of the island, you will find the cultural diversity, authenticity, and the special charm typical of Rügen: avenues of trees, enchanted forest, kilometers of wide & white sandy beaches with the turquoise blue water of the Baltic Sea, and above it, the rugged cliffs with chalk cliffs.
