"Welcome to the Murtalhütte". Experience and feel your holiday in a different way than usual - quiet, relaxing, restful and balancing. Our Murtalhütte is nestled between mountains up to 3000 metres high, away from the village of Muhr in Lungau in Salzburger Land. Our holidaymakers really appreciate not being able to spend their holidays in a "HÜTTENDORF". We are located on the edge of the largest nature reserve in the Alps - the HOHE TAUERN National Park in the Lungau-Nockberge Biosphere Park. Surrounded by the Niedere and Radstädter Tauern mountains, the Murtalhütte is situated at 1,120 metres above sea level (easily accessible by car in winter) in a unique and unmistakable mountain landscape. You can expect dreamlike alpine pastures, mountains with glaciers, crystal-clear mountain water, 60 deep blue mountain lakes, breathtaking waterfalls, combined with an animal and plant world that you won't find anywhere else in this variety. The absolute highlight of the hut is undoubtedly the spacious living room with a stone-walled bar, a wood-burning stove, an extremely cosy regulars' table, a pull-out sofa bed and a TV. Our underfloor heating effortlessly provides cosy warmth throughout the cabin. In the bathroom you will find a shower, 2 washbasins and 1 WC. We also provide plenty of wood in front of the hut to keep you nice and warm in winter - because it can get pretty cold in Lungau in winter. For wellness and relaxation, you can use our unique barrel sauna in the garden, followed by a refreshing dip in the mountain stream in front of the hut. And there are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one shared room with six beds in the hut.
