Description
The Biberburg House was extensively renovated in spring 2024 and now exudes a fresh Nordic charm in the colors blue, white, and gray, accented by bold, bright colors in cushions and curtains. The furnishings are a mix of new designer furniture, Ikea, as well as unrestored antiques from Danish and North German barns and gracefully aged wooden furniture with shabby chic. 76 sqm of living space in the semi-detached house is distributed over three rooms with a shower bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a spacious living room under the roof, which is accessible via an open staircase from the living kitchen area.
You enter the house through an enclosed entrance hall, which offers ample space for jackets and shoes. Through a patio door, you enter the tiled living kitchen area. A straight staircase leads to the living area under the roof, and at the other end of the room is the kitchenette. This is equipped with an induction stove with oven (installed in 2024), refrigerator with integrated freezer compartment, and a dishwasher. On the shelf to the right are a coffee machine, electric kettle, and toaster. In this room there is also a round, extendable dining table with five chairs and a TrippTrapp high chair, as well as a storage cabinet under the stairs. Through a patio door to the left of the kitchenette you can access the south-facing terrace.
There, two benches and several patio chairs with a folding table invite you to eat and linger.
A small hallway leads to the shower room, which was also completely renovated in 2024, with a spacious walk-in shower, a wall-mounted toilet, and a washbasin. There is also the washing machine there, which is a top loader operated from above.
The two bedrooms also branch off from the hallway. In the master bedroom, there is a double bed made of solid white wood with the dimensions 180 x 200 cm, and opposite it stands a Scandinavian antique wardrobe, also made of solid softwood and featuring panel doors and 19th-century decor. In the adjacent children's room there are two box beds measuring 90 x 200 cm, one of which has side panels on three sides and is equipped with drawers. There is also a simple antique wardrobe from the penultimate century made of oiled solid softwood. Children's toys are stored in a wooden chest. For babies and toddlers there are two of the proven foldable children's beds with a length of 140 cm and matching separate mattresses. In the spacious living area under the roof, there is a round, solid wooden table with modern plastic shell chairs and, here too, a TrippTrapp high chair for children. For cozy hours, there is a three-seater sofa with a chaise lounge and a single wing chair with a bench. These pieces of furniture are covered with timeless gray sofa fabric and refreshed with colorful cushions. With the flat-screen TV, which is mounted on a tripod stand, numerous channels can be received via satellite antenna. WLAN connection via fiber optic network also exists.
This room is brightly illuminated by two large roof windows facing south, and through the small mullioned window in the gable, the view opens onto the large adjacent meadow where sheep occasionally graze.
Up there, there is also a storage room for tools and various utensils, accessible through a wallpaper door.

Location and surroundings of object
Lütow, a small, sleepy village, is located in the south of the Gnitz peninsula directly on the Achterwasser, which is completely surrounded by a wide belt of reeds. In the immediate vicinity is the Südspitze Gnitz nature reserve, a moraine cliff and associated beach wall system with alder swamp forests and meadows. There are numerous traces of Europe's largest rodent, the beaver, which was the inspiration for the name of our holiday home.
The village is characterised by holiday home settlements, guest houses and private residences, some of which are historic buildings. Some of the houses are still thatched or have been thatched again.
On the northern edge of the village, the view sweeps across wide meadows and tree-covered hilly landscapes. Following the Neuendorfer Weg towards the Achterwasser, you come to the small harbour for private pleasure boats and a fishing business.
Haus Biberburg is located at the very south-western end of the Lütow holiday home estate, which consists of several identical semi-detached houses with gabled roofs, red-brick façades and wood-clad porches. The house and its garden border an extensive, undeveloped sheep meadow.
At the eastern end of the village there is a Neolithic megalithic grave under oak trees.
In the nearby nature campsite (approx. 1.6 km) there is a rustic restaurant and a small shop where fresh bread rolls and everyday products can be purchased in season. In the neighbouring village of Neuendorf, you can sample the delicacies of Pomeranian cuisine in the local village pub.
The surrounding area offers wonderful paths for ramblers, walkers and dog walkers.

Pets are welcome with us! We have created an approximately 40 square meters enclosed area in front of the terrace for this purpose. The pickets are about 1.20 m high and should therefore not be surmountable even for large dogs. This area is fully visible from the kitchen or dining room, so you can always keep an eye on your pets from inside.

Mr. N. Hemptenmacher
We are a family of five with a dog. With our two boys and a daughter, we have been coming to the island of Usedom regularly for many years and always enjoy the varied landscapes and lively seaside resorts on the island. We have only recently purchased the Biberburg house and have renovated and furnished it to our liking.
