Discover tranquillity in our holiday home De Huiszwaluw, located near the picturesque village of Westerbork. This spacious holiday home accommodates up to 6 guests with 3 bedrooms, 1 of which is on the ground floor next to the bathroom and separate toilet.
Downstairs there is a garden-oriented living room with a smart TV and bright living space. Adjacent is the open kitchen equipped with a combination microwave, gas hob, extractor, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The kitchen is equipped with a kettle, coffee machine and Nespresso. You will also find all the crockery necessary for preparing and serving meals. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table or outside on the semi-covered terrace.
The house is equipped with every comfort and convenience. Start your day with a cup of coffee on the balcony while enjoying the panoramic view of the leisure park. Every day you can enjoy the heated indoor pool, children can have fun in one of the playgrounds or play in the enclosed garden around the house. The terrace adjacent to the living room is accessible through the French doors, making it the perfect place for a summer barbecue or a cosy evening with friends and family.
For families with young children, a cot and a highchair are available. The house also has a washing machine, iron and hairdryer for your convenience. You can use our wifi free of charge.
The House Swallow is a non-smoking accommodation and we aim to provide a low allergen environment. The bathroom is equipped with modern sanitary facilities in neutral colours with a washbasin cabinet, towel radiator and a walk-in shower with rain shower and door. Optional towels can be hired. The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable box-spring beds, individually operated bedside lamps and optional bed linen is available. In the chest of drawers and wardrobe on the 1st floor landing, clothes can be stored during the stay.

During their stay, guests may use the swimming pool, playgrounds, charging station and other facilities at the park. At reception, there is a small shop with local products and small assortment of food and toys. Also here is the Garden Room where you can enjoy breakfast, drinks and small snacks. During the summer season and school holidays, the reception with Garden Room has longer opening hours and there is a regular small-scale entertainment programme.

Our holiday home is located on recreation park Het Hart van Drenthe in Zwiggelte near the cosy village of Westerbork and a short distance from Assen, in the province of Drenthe. Zwiggelte falls under the Midden-Drenthe municipality and the cottage is located on the Het Hart van Drenthe recreation park next to the Het Hart van Drenthe forest.
The city of Groningen can be reached in half an hour and Emmen with Wildlands is also easy to reach by car.
In front of the recreation park is the canal with its own fishing pier.
If you like going into nature, you can use this as a base for walking the Drenthepad or part of the Pieterpad. Dwingelo and the Dwingelderveld are also close by. If you prefer more excitement, the TT-circuit is just a stone's throw away, as are several good catering establishments for those times when you don't feel like cooking. in the morning, you can buy fresh rolls at reception (to order) to start the day off nicely.

The park is an ideal base for guests who like to visit museums and cities in the area, the active nature lover who enjoys mountain biking or regular (electric) bicycle rides or walks through nature reserves and the peace seeker who occasionally wants to do something but also enjoys sitting in the garden.

A lovely place to unwind and an ideal base for fun outings. Nice walks through the woods and heaths, fun trips to the cities of Assen and Groningen or enjoy one of the nice villages in the direct vicinity. From zoo to museum or (natural) swimming pool, there is plenty to do for young and old.
