Enjoy an unforgettable vacation in Tuscany near Lucca in our holiday home "Il sole da Anja". This charming holiday home, a former monastic monastery from the 1750s recently renovated, partly converted into a guest house and partly into a residential house, offers space for up to 5 guests and up to 3 dogs on 110 square meters of living space. It has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, equipped with all the comforts you need for a relaxed stay.
The house is furnished with high-quality, partly antique, stylish furniture and features a warm, inviting interior decor. On the ground floor is the spacious living room with comfortable stylish seating, a 40° LED TV, and a pellet stove that provides a cozy atmosphere on cool evenings. From here, you enter the large modern kitchen fully equipped with a stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, and coffee machines. At the historical dining table, you can admire the defensive architecture on old walls with their original stone arches, thanks to the openness of the modern architectural design. In front of the modern parquet staircase leading to the first floor, there is a bright modern bathroom with a window, shower, toilet, hairdryer, towels, and sink. On the first floor, there is a luxurious bedroom with a double bed, nightstand, wardrobe, and a charming view of the historic surroundings. On the first floor, you will find a large comfortable bedroom with a view of olive groves and the Apennines, the "backbone of Italy." It continues onto a gallery framed with a Plexiglas railing. Here, there is a historic single bed 90 x 200, an antique desk, and an original old gramophone cabinet, filled with various card and board games. Another parquet staircase leads to the upper floor with the 2nd bedroom. Here, there is also a cozy sitting area. The bedrooms are bright, flooded with natural light through panoramic windows, equipped with a 32" LED TV, and each features a 160 x 200 double bed with high-quality bed linen.
Outside, in front of the entrance, there is a terrace shaded with bamboo and a sun umbrella, where you can enjoy your meals prepared on the grill at the beautiful mosaic table. On the outside porch, there is additional seating, and also the ping pong table, foosball, disc golf, and dartboard. They won't let you get bored. Here you will also find the 2nd bathroom with the washing machine, clothes rack, iron, and ironing board. The garden area directly in front of the house is about 180 square meters and is fenced in. On the meadow with a large parasol and the lounging and seating furniture, you can admire the breathtaking view of the olive groves and the plain of "Lago di Bientina" under the Tuscan sun with lots of bird song. You can find refreshment in the oval 3x5m pool. In the landscaped herb bed, you will find almost all the spices of Tuscan cuisine. To engage in sports, you will find a 2x10m bocce court below the garden and the shade-giving linden forest where you can enjoy playing disc golf. This larger garden area of about 3000 square meters is electrically fenced. A shaded parking spot is available for your car.
For our youngest guests, we are happy to provide a crib and a high chair. For dogs, there is a small pool for cooling off. The house has Wi-Fi, so you can always stay connected with the outside world during your stay. A satellite antenna allows for international TV reception.
Our vacation house Il sole da Anja is a non-smoking house. However, there are ashtrays in the outdoor area. We look forward to welcoming you to our little paradise in Tuscany.

Location and surroundings of object
Our former monastery from the 1750s, partly converted into a guest house and partly into a residence, is situated on the Colline Pisane in the picturesque region of Tuscany, inland from the plain of the beautiful city of Lucca. Our Frazione Pieve di Compito is a district of Capannori, the largest municipality in Italy with 46 frazione (districts)
From the house and garden, nestled in olive groves, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Apennines with its hills and the Pianora of what was once the largest drained lake in Tuscany, "Lago di Bientina". It is only 10 kilometres to the wall that surrounds the historic old town of Lucca. 25km to the leaning tower in Pisa, 50 minutes to the beautiful sandy beaches of Versilia, in about 60 minutes you are in the heart of Tuscany such as Florence, San Gimignano or Volterra. Enjoy a trip to the evergreen Garfagnana with its swallows' nests and small, ancient mountain villages. Or take a detour to the Alpi Apuane with their famous Carrara marble quarries. With your dogs you can find refreshment nearby in the river Visona, which runs through our villages, or you can relax on the nearby beaches of Torre del Lago, which are also open to our pets. From the house, well-maintained walking and mountain bike trails lead you through forests and olive groves, which always offer vantage points with fascinating views.
You can reach us via Pisa Airport, 50 minutes away, or via the A11 motorway, exit Capannori or Lucca Est, coming from Florence or Viareggio. Then take the SR439 towards Pontedera or, coming from Lucca, first take the SP26 also towards Pontedera. In San Leonardo in Treponzio, the SP meets the SR. Then it is only about 4km to the holiday home. Once you have passed the sign for Pieve di Compito, turn right after approx. 150m onto the smaller tarmac road. After a further 500 metres uphill you have reached your destination.
We have shopping facilities very close by, in 3 minutes you can buy fresh baked goods from the bakery, selected sausages, meat, fruit and vegetables from local producers and of course the best cold-pressed olive oil from our area in the shop of the cooperatively organised oil mill (Frantoio sociale). In San Leonardo in Treponzio, 5 minutes away by car, you will find a well-stocked supermarket with a fresh fish counter and also open on Sundays; if necessary, you will also find an English-speaking pharmacy here, which is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm.
There are also various localities on site, such as restaurants and pizzerias.

Great holiday home
The house and the location were very beautiful. The description, furnishings, and the pictures also match reality. Nothing was missing in the house. The kitchen's equipment was above average. It was tastefully and cozily furnished and, above all, very clean. The outdoor area with the pool was very well-maintained, and one could sit comfortably or relax on one of the loungers. Our host Anja was very nice and helpful with many suggestions for excursions, even in the nearby area, and how to reach them by the most beautiful routes.

Dream vacation
The holiday home was a dream, beautifully located with a wonderful view! The house was extremely clean and very stylishly furnished; we felt very comfortable! The house is equipped with everything one needs on vacation. The garden is very well-kept, and the pool is a sight to behold!
We, our children, and dogs had a truly dream vacation in this wonderful holiday home and with the very kind and helpful landlord Anja; we would love to come back.

A dream vacation – highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful holiday home in Tuscany! Upon our arrival, we were incredibly warmly welcomed by Anja – you immediately feel welcome and well taken care of.
The house itself is perfectly equipped, especially the kitchen – it has everything you need. Everything was clean, lovingly styled, and prepared with great attention to detail. Since we were there in December, Anja always made sure that we were nice and warm – we really appreciated that!
Anja was always there for us, whether it was with tips for excursions, restaurant recommendations, or if we had any questions.
She is a fantastic host: incredibly interesting, skilled in crafts, helpful, and an absolutely lovely person. We were also particularly impressed by her house – so unique and full of history! In short: We and our dogs felt incredibly comfortable, the vacation was a complete success, and we will definitely come back! Absolute recommendation!

We have been living and working here for 30 years as self-caterers in and with nature. Our guest house, part of a former monastery from the 1750s, has been restored with great attention to detail. You won't be able to resist the positive aura of the old historic walls. Here you will find peace, relaxation and inspiration after decades of our life experiences. Once you've arrived here, you won't want to go out into the countryside. Even though it's not far away.2 minutes to the organic shop run by the members of the oil farmers' cooperative.5 minutes to the nearest supermarket in the neighbouring village. 15 minutes to Lucca, an intact and peaceful historic town, 50 minutes to the beautiful sandy beaches of Versilia, the mountains and marble quarries of the Alpi Apuane or simply to the evergreen hills of the Alpi Alpi. Children and dogs are welcome. There is plenty of space to play.
