You can bring your own boat and moor it in front of the house during your stay. Within 100 metres, you can sail onto the Langweerder Wielen. From here, the Frisian lakes lie at your feet.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located just 100 metres from the Langweerder Wielen, one of the large Frisian lakes. A 10-minute walk will take you to the charming water sports village of Langweer. Here you will find many restaurants, bars, supermarket, bakery etc.
The main town of the Municipality of De Friese Meren: Joure, known for the annual Frisian balloon festivals, the cosy Midstraat, park Heremastate and Douwe Egberts coffee. The very first Douwe Egberts shop can be found in Joure. Just 50 metres from the house, take the pedestrian/bicycle ferry and you will be in Joure in no time.
The chameleon village of Terherne; the village of twin brothers Hielke and Sietse is easily reached by boat or car.
Eise Eisinga's planetarium in Franeker has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since September 2023. A visit is also very interesting for children.
Leeuwarden, the proud provincial capital, can be reached by car in approx. 40 minutes. A visit to Groningen and Assen is also worthwhile.
Sneek and the Sneekweek. This annual event is organised by the Koninklijke Watersportvereniging Sneek. During this week, there are sailing races every day. Sneek is located southwest of Leeuwarden, between Joure and Bolsward. The town is the largest town in the municipality of Sudwest Fryslan. Weduwe Joustra is a distillery where Beerenburg has been made since 1864. You can go visit the distillery, you just need to make an appointment.
The Fries Scheepvaart Museum offers information on the history of Frisian shipping, with its new children's museum. Model railway museum; 5,000 models, the largest collection in Europe. And finally the Waterpoort (national monument)
