Cres island is reachable by car through Krk bridge, and also by ferry via Brestova-Porozina starting point, which frequently departs from the land.
Cres has been inhabited since the Paleolithic period. Cres and Losinj island together were called Apsyrtides in ancient times. They're even mentioned in the Myth of Jason and Argonauts, so if you're a fan of Greek mythology and literature, Cres is definitely a must-visit. In the past, Cres was connected to Losinj, but due to the needs of trade, these islands were separated by an artificially long canal near Osor.
