Spaciously cut holiday apartment with very good equipment. Complex with about 20 units. Despite the many holiday apartments, it was very quiet. The holiday apartment is located a bit off the beaten track in a beautifully preserved small village away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas. Great little flammkuchen restaurant in the same building. Parking spaces available, but a bit tight. The nearest beach is about 2 km away and can be easily reached by car or bicycle.

One thinks to have landed at the end of the world and finds oneself in an idyllic place. In a beautiful surroundings, there is a well-kept holiday resort with perfect, upscale facilities. Everything is great.

We were on site as a family with 2 adults and 2 children. Our expectations of the holiday apartment were more than exceeded. Both in terms of size and especially equipment, there was nothing missing in the apartment that we are accustomed to from home in terms of comfort. The apartment has two great bedrooms. There is a large flat-screen TV in the master bedroom, which I personally found very comfortable. Since both the TV in the bedroom and in the living area can be controlled digitally, we were able to use our usual streaming services in addition to listening to radio stations. The internet provided for this purpose was very stable and had a sufficient bandwidth. I had my work laptop with me and was able to connect to the company in Hamburg via VPN without any restrictions and thus supervise the most important activities remotely. This also worked quite well from the office area set up with a desk in the master bedroom. The beds in the bedrooms had a good sleeping comfort with enough pillows. Everything was very clean when we moved in. We were very pleased with the small welcome gift and the small starter kit for using the apartment. We noticed that someone had put some thought into it. The two bathrooms, each located next to the master bedroom and the children's bedroom, are very well equipped. I really enjoyed the rainforest shower in the very spacious and level-access shower in the master bedroom after my regular runs. The quiet location of the village was perfect for me as a runner. Just under 2 kilometers to the beach promenade and then long running routes towards Thiessow/Klein Zicker or Göhren. Short or long runs were possible there. The village of Groß Zicker is idyllic, but impresses with its charm with the many thatched-roof houses. The small "Dörpladen" is surprisingly well stocked. The order service for fresh bread rolls worked very well. There were also playgrounds in the village for the children, which they also used. Since there are no play equipment for children on the property of the holiday apartment, we used the public playgrounds in the village. The walk to the "Hafen" Groß Zicker and along the dike to the sheep was a lot of fun for our kids. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 week. We were able to stock up well for the week at the Rewe in Göhren, which could then be easily stored in the apartment. Both the refrigerator and the freezer compartment had enough space for one week. We cooked ourselves in the apartment every evening, probably also due to the corona situation. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired for cooking. There is a sufficient number and size of dishes, glasses, pans and pots available. We even had breakfast guests for one day, whom we could accommodate well at the large dining table in the living and dining area. If you go to Groß Zicker, you should have a car. The beach promenade (about 2 km away) as well as visits to Göhren, Selling, Binz, Prora, and Karls Erdbeerhof in Zirkow for the kids can be easily reached by car. But walks between Gager and Groß Zicker, as well as to Nonnenloch, made our time there very entertaining. In addition to the apartment, we were also lucky with the weather in October. Except for one day with a storm surge, we had almost continuous sunshine. Even though the temperatures were rather cool for the time of year and darkness fell around 6 PM, we had plenty of time during the day to enjoy the fresh air. The day with the storm surge was also an event. Our girls had never seen anything like it. It's really great to see how the forces of nature act at the sea. Where we used to take walks on the beach, the waves now reached the dunes and the harbor pier in Groß Zicker could only be reached in rubber boots, as it was under water. A real highlight of our days on site. ïŠ On one day we also wanted to go to the swimming pool in Sellin. Unfortunately, that didn't work out for us because visitor numbers were severely restricted due to Corona. So there are still topics for our next visit, such as a ride on the Rasender Roland. We saw it frequently, but we had so much other program that we didn't manage to do this attraction anymore. Just like a day trip to Stralsund, for example to the German Oceanographic Museum. In conclusion, we can say that we had a great week in a very well-kept vacation apartment. The country and its people add to a great holiday experience. Both adults and children felt very comfortable on site. Thumbs up for us. One of the best vacation rentals we have rented. The comfort is top-notch, including the great lighting concept in the apartment, with many indirect lighting options that create a cozy atmosphere and contribute to the ambience. We will be back! ïŠ
