Description

The country house "Kleine Welt" was built in 1863 and lovingly restored by us from 2019 to 2021. The offer is aimed in particular at people who seek nature, value environmentally conscious and resource-conserving living and / or want to learn something about it. Depending on the season, we also offer participatory and therefore learning opportunities in the garden, in beekeeping, with the animals or in the forest.
It is possible to get there by public transport.
About 200 people live in the immediate village and there is commercial agriculture: you can see it, you can hear it and occasionally you can smell it.
There are - apart from our bees - many other insects, birds, beetles, spiders and small animals - just nature.

The helper flat is a smoke-free living area:
- 55 sqm living space suitable for 2 to 3 people plus
- 1 bedroom with double bed and one single bed
- Cot can be added
- Living room with SAT-TV, bookshelf, large sofa (DDR nostalgia)
- Bathroom with bathtub, shower, WC, washing machine and washbasin
- Kitchen with cooker, coffee machine, electric kettle, microwave, fridge-freezer, radio and dining area for 3 people
- Kitchen utensils and crockery sufficiently available
- Beds are made and towels are ready
- Terrace with garden furniture in the courtyard
- WLAN
- on request, organic food (partly from our own production) can be provided for an extra charge - please contact us: Honey and eggs are always available.
-Bicycles can be borrowed to a limited extent (5 € per day)
The house is not barrier-free and the flat is on the ground floor.
Price per night (minimum 3 nights) for 2 persons: € 40 plus final cleaning € 50 - each additional person € 15 per night.
From October to April heating costs (Berlin stove) will be added.
Other booking requests on request.

There are seasonal prices for Easter and Christmas plus € 20 per night!

Location and surroundings of object

The Elbe with the fortress town of Dömitz is about 15 km away.
Redefin is home to the state stud farm, which is well worth seeing. In the autumn months, the very impressive stallion parades take place there.
The baroque town of Ludwigslust with its castle and very large castle park is 25 minutes away by car.
The medieval castle in Neustadt-Glewe is worth seeing.
The state capital Schwerin with its zoo, interesting museums, theatre and impressively beautiful castle is 65 km away.
Upstream from the Elbe is the small town of Lenzen in Brandenburg with a very nice exhibition of the BUND and the biosphere reserve at the castle there.

The pretty villages of the region fascinate with their original, well-preserved sprawling settlement structure of more than a hundred years.
In nearby Vielank you will find the Vielanker Brauhaus, which treats its guests to home-brewed beers, draught beer and regional cuisine in a rustic ambience - the same applies to the harbour restaurant in Dömitz with its panorama café, which also offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Elbe region.
Of course, there are many interesting seasonal events here (e.g. guided tours with the rangers on topics of the biosphere reserve, biosphere markets, regional festivals, concerts, theatre and much more).

The area is ideal for cycling tours and long hikes. There are two natural bathing spots on the Elde waterway nearby (10 min. by bike) and a raft rental in the neighbouring village - licence-free raft trips with bathing and fishing (with fishing licence).
The area is paradisiacal and not overrun by tourists.

additional information:

Our 100-year-old, listed four-sided farm and our guesthouse (Landhaus "Kleine Welt"), built in 1863, are located in the slightly hilly terminal moraine landscape of the so-called "Griesen Gegend" between Ludwigslust and Dömitz / Elbe. The district of Ludwigslust-Parchim is sparsely populated and borders on the Wendland. Our farm looks out into the centre of the village (approx. 200 souls) and to the rear across meadows and fields to nearby woodlands.

Our "little world" consists of about 5 ha of meadow + 16 ha of forest and a 5000 sqm kitchen garden with fruit trees and vegetable beds and three greenhouses. We have about 10 sheep plus lambs, about 50 hens, 3 cocks and chicks, geese and ducks each plus chicks from natural breeding, 3 dairy goats plus buck and lambs, about 8 bee colonies plus offspring, 6 cats and a dog. Our animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner and do not have to perform at their best. We farm organically and feed ourselves from the garden and animal products. Surpluses are preserved or sold on the farm (honey, eggs, fruit and vegetables). The main goal of the farm is self-sufficiency. We process the milk of our goats into yoghurt (curd and cheese). Honey is harvested twice a year. Bread is baked by ourselves. Few products are bought in - we want to make as much as possible ourselves and attach importance to sustainability and careful use of all resources. We run a self-sufficient farm with eco-idealism. Guests can learn something - there are hands-on activities and we like to learn too!

A beautiful house!

We have rented the left house, which is visible in the picture. The house is fully equipped, very clean and well-maintained. The surroundings are beautiful. Great for taking walks. Beautiful cities nearby. A great starting point to explore this region.

Mrs. G. Holtrup

About us We left our "normal" life in 2005 because we could not and did not want to bear the consumer madness, the environmental destruction, the many food scandals etc. any more. In the past years we have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the field of self-sufficiency, agriculture and ecology and would like to pass this on to as many people as possible. We also find the discussion with other people enriching. But of course we are also happy to receive active support. Our goal is to be self-sufficient in essential food. We want to know what we are eating and we don't want to waste anything. At the beginning, we dug up grassy areas and planted the large fruit and vegetable garden there, planted bushes and trees and put up greenhouses. We renovated the house and stables, fenced in our meadow and dug out the silted-up pond again. Besides dogs and cats, sheep and dairy goats, chickens, ducks and geese now live with us on the farm. in 2010, the bees were added. We farm in an environmentally friendly, resource-conserving and sustainable way. Self-sufficiency is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Our motto: Learn and gain experience by doing!
