Very cozy holiday home

The Jolly Sailor holiday home is fully equipped, nothing is missing. Upon arrival, there was a warm welcome, even a bottle of good wine was ready for us. Leonie is a warm-hearted host, she was always available and very friendly. We can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and will gladly book with Leonie again on our next trip to the Netherlands.

A beautiful vacation

We were received very warmly! The little house has everything you need. It is very lovingly furnished, and we felt at home immediately! The terrace is beautifully arranged! The location is perfect for vacationing in Katwijk. An information folder is available, containing all the necessary information with tips for, e.g., restaurants and supermarkets. Full recommendation! We would love to come back!

Super nice hosts

The hosts were super nice and helpful. You could ask them anything and they were really eager to give us a great stay. The apartment was very tight and small. The bed under the roof consisted of a very hard mattress that was on pallets. It was just too hard for us. The stairs were quite steep, so I slept downstairs with my one-year-old. In my opinion, it's not safe to go up and down the stairs with a child in your arms. Under the roof, it was also very, very hot because we had caught a few exceptionally warm days. But here too, Leonie was very eager to help us with mobile air conditioning units. The apartment is simply too small for 6 people, especially if you want to stay longer than a weekend. There were three of us with a child, and that was already too cramped because you have to bring a lot of things like a stroller with a toddler. Definitely recommended for a weekend getaway, and I can imagine that twenty-year-olds wouldn’t have any problem cuddling together in a group of six. The small terrace was very nice, and there was also a grill. Charcoal was available as well. The kitchen was well equipped with oil and spices, and the little house was very lovingly furnished. It was also very, very clean. The location was great too; it was only a few minutes to the beach and the city. The parking option in the Boulevard parking garage for €35/week is highly recommended. Overall, we had a lovely stay. And thank you once again for the hospitality. We rarely had such nice hosts.

Lovingly designed apartment with warm-hearted hosts

We had a dreamlike vacation, not only because of the beautiful weather but also because of the lovely hosts. Leonie was always available and had good tips for excursions and restaurants. She was very kind to our children, played with them, and even baked cookies :) The location is also perfect, with short distances to the beach and the city. The amenities are very extensive, from the available coffee and tea to ice cubes, baking paper, spices, and grill charcoal and lighter, etc. We would be happy to return and can only recommend this accommodation.

Maritime and Cozy

It is a very beautiful and cozy holiday cottage in a quiet courtyard with a terrace. The beach is reachable within a few minutes' walk.

We were received very warmly, and Leonie gladly offers tips for activities, such as a bike tour to Leiden.

The apartment is very well equipped; from the beach ball set to the charcoal for grilling, everything is available.

We felt very comfortable.

Small but fine

We (2 adults and 2 toddlers, 3 years and 6 years old) spent a week in the small and sweet holiday home.
We were warmly welcomed with snacks/wine and a welcome greeting. The beds were also prepared according to the children's ages, and the host provided a really cute night light for the two children.
The holiday home was very clean. It is tidy and well-maintained. Many small, sweet details are included in the decor. Leonie had an eye for many great little things. There was water in the fridge, tea and coffee, and there were also oils and spices for cooking. In the kitchen, there is really everything (except a dishwasher), for example, baking paper, garbage bags, straws, ice cubes, dish soap, kettle, toaster, just everything you need... The location of the holiday home is perfect; you can reach the beach in 3-5 minutes on foot, as well as the city center or one of the nearest supermarkets. Most of the time, we simply walked and left the car parked. At this point, it is recommended to park the car in the underground garage on the boulevard (35€ for the week), as we found the parking recommendation from the supermarket too risky. I give one star less for the furnishings because, first, the mattress was simply too soft and worn out for us. The adult bed did not have a slatted frame; instead, the mattress was just placed on two pallets. We couldn't sleep very well on it because we have high-quality mattresses at home. Secondly, it was quite warm for sleeping on the upper floor, even the fan didn't help much. For a short break from everyday life, this small and sweet apartment is certainly ideal. If children are coming along, I would recommend an age of 4-5 years. To get to the upper floor, you have to climb a steep staircase; our 3-year-old had to carefully crawl down backwards, otherwise it would have been too dangerous.

Very welcoming hostess, beautiful apartment. We were there with two dogs, the dog beach was beautiful. We will definitely vacation with Leonie again.

Super nice accommodation, very warm hosts

We felt very comfortable with Leonie and Huig. The welcome was warm and very nice. Everything you need is available in the apartment. Even oil, vinegar, many spices, and many other things that you usually have to buy. A really cozy home. We can definitely recommend "Jolly Sailor"! Thanks again to our nice hosts. Very nice short vacation ???

We can only recommend this accommodation. Leonie is a super host and always helped us when we had questions or wanted to know something about the area. Our dog Wilma also felt very comfortable and could really enjoy the time. We didn't mind the lack of a dishwasher, as we were only two people and didn't have much dirty dishes. The location is just great, you can reach the beach in 5 minutes and there are many shopping opportunities in the area. So, for a beach vacation, the accommodation is perfect.

The jolly sailor Katwijk

A really lovely hostess, but it would have been a duty to inform us about a cat on the property when arriving with a dog who doesn't like cats. We would have never chosen this accommodation, I found it to be grossly negligent. Relaxation was not possible for us anymore when the dog was always on the lookout. No free parking in front of the house, also a dishwasher would be advantageous, especially when traveling with multiple people. Otherwise, a modern and tasteful interior, nice hostess.
