Description
The honey storehouse - the building was only given this name after renovation - was a so-called double storehouse with two different functions. In the Heide, the term "storehouse" does not refer to attics, but to free-standing storage buildings on the farms.
The left part of the double store was the storage chamber for the beekeeper's tools, where the beehives were also repaired, the typical Lüneburg Stülper. Later, this chamber also served as a storage place for the grain. The peat, which was used as fuel for drying, was stored in the right-hand side. A gable roof connected both parts, leaving a four-metre-wide passage in the middle, a so-called wagon shower. This passage could be closed by gates on both sides.
During the renovation, these gates became large panorama windows, which serve as a source of light and offer a magnificent view of the beech forest.
The honey store has room for 5 guests. A chamber with half-timbered walls serves as a master bedroom. The ambience is reminiscent of times gone by. A children's room with single bed and bunk bed is available. Toilet and bathroom are separate. The open country kitchen overlooks the dining and living area. There is no need to climb stairs, as the guests reach the entrance of the rustic romantic holiday home via the terrace.
A large meadow in front of the house can also be used for various activities such as barbecuing, playing and relaxing.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home "Honigspeicher" from 1705 is located on a typical heath farm, which was already mentioned in the church records of Verden in the 15th century as an old farm.
The Limbeck Heidehof is surrounded by a magnificent old tree population, consisting mainly of beech and oak trees. Cycling and hiking tours can be planned and carried out from the farm, and it often happens that you meet the heath shepherd Franz with his sheep, who also likes to have a chat with the guests.

Something very special
We felt so comfortable! For people who also seek the extraordinary, the silence, and the closeness of nature, this romantically nostalgic cottage, located on a large picturesque courtyard and exuding a very special atmosphere, is just the right thing! The hosts are very likeable and convey a lot about history and the surrounding nature/culture. Highly recommended!
