That is often said about this cosy romantic cottage.
Ideal for a couple, possibly with 1 or 2 children.
Uniquely located with a beautiful view of the water both from the living room and from the lovely sheltered veranda. Here you can see the most beautiful sunsets from your chair. The television can stay out!
It is simple, but it has everything you need for a nice, carefree stay: a lovely bed, a nice shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a couch to snuggle up on, a cosy dining area and a covered veranda.
The dog can come along, the garden is completely enclosed.
In the adjacent woods and along the dyke you can go for lovely walks without meeting anyone.
The forest is rich in various birds and along the dike you will always see a buzzard or harrier. You can see for miles around here.
The cottage has its own private jetty for fishing or just relaxing and enjoying the many (water) birds.
Wonderfully quiet, nature and freedom. Ideal for unwinding.
2-person canoes are at hand.
In summer, boats regularly pass by.
The Amstelmeer has a large jetty with several swimming steps, where you can swim in summer.
In the yard live a number of animals including the dogs Dicky and Daisy, they are curious but sweet to people and animals. There are also 3 horses present: the mini ponies Hans and Gretel and the big Andalusian horse Ranchero. A ride on mini pony Hans is an experience for small children from about 3 years old. Older children can brush the ponies and walk with them if they like it.
Besides the bedroom with a double bed, there is a cosy box bed for 1 or 2 children,
Nearest shop at 10 minutes by car.
The quiet beach and beautiful dunes of Huisduinen can be reached within 20 car minutes. Other beautiful places nearby include the island of Texel, the former island of Wieringen, nostalgic village Kolhorn, the entire coastal strip, the Zwanenwater near Callantsoog, the Robbenoordbos near Den Oever, the province of Friesland etc etc.
Looking for the hustle and bustle? The cosy towns of Schagen and Medemblik can be reached within 15 minutes, Hoorn 20 minutes, Enkhuizen and Alkmaar 30 minutes and Amsterdam 45 minutes.

The cottage is on the edge of the polder sandwiched between water, forest, meadows and dykes.
A place to completely unwind.
Fishing in front of the door, swimming in the neighbouring Amstelmeer, canoeing, walking for miles along the dykes without meeting anyone, beautiful views and dark nights for stargazing
It is centrally located in the head of North Holland at a short distance from many nice places to visit.
The seaside resorts of Callantsoog, Julianadorp, Den Helder and Huisduinen can be reached in 20 minutes.
On the other side of the Amstelmeer (about 5 minutes' drive) is a sandy beach where children can play and swim.

From the cottage, you walk straight into the private forest. It is not large, but certainly fun to walk through.
In spring, the whitethorn grows luxuriantly, giving it a fairytale appearance.
Otherwise, it is a cacophony of all kinds of bird sounds. No maintenance is done, fallen trees are left lying around, delighting all kinds of animals.
From the forest you come to the dike where you often see or hear a buzzard or harrier. You can walk for kilometres here and completely unwind.

Very warm and cozy!
We felt very comfortable and welcome.
Also, the reception from Sandra was very warm and there was a small but nice welcome gift for our dog :)
Overall, the cottage was very warm, lovingly and clean, furnished for humans and animals!
The cottage is quiet, but with the car, you can quickly reach various beaches and shopping opportunities.
We will definitely come back! :)

Kleine Ruheoase
Ich und meine zwei Whippets haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in dieser kleinen Idylle. Eine tolle Gastgeberin die immer ein offenes Ohr hat und versucht alles möglich zu machen. Wir kommen wieder.

De rust, vrijheid, gastvrijheid, centraal gelegen naar andere dorpjes, steden, strand .

Helemaal top
We zijn hier nu al 3x geweest en vinden het nog steeds geweldig. De omgeving is erg rustgevend
en dorpjes niet ver er vandaan.
De gastvrouw Sandra is erg aardig en lief en je voelt je meteen thuis.

Een heerlijke serene plek
Ik kom sinds 2019 twee keer per jaar naar het huisje van Sandra met de fijne omheinde tuin waar mijn honden ook veilig zijn. Ik kom er voor rust en het schrijven van mijn boeken. De weidsheid, het water met de lange dijk, het bos, de dieren, alles is om me heen. Sandra is een vrolijke behulpzame gastvrouw, maar vindt privacy van essentieel belang voor haar gasten. Ik zal nog jarenlang naar Slootdorp gaan om in De Pondarosa te verblijven. Nancy de Heer

Dreamfully beautiful accommodation in the middle of nature
The cottage has a dreamlike location by the canal next to a small forest! The house was lovingly prepared for our arrival, even a water bowl and a treat for the dog were already ready :) the house has everything you would need, we didn't miss anything!

Recreation guaranteed
We were thrilled with the cozy holiday cottage, the beautiful surroundings, the direct access to the water, and the truly wonderful host Sandra!
Our daughter (10) was allowed to help take care of the horses and ponies and, weather permitting, go for a ride. We also fell in love with the really sweet dogs.
Despite continuous rain, we had a great time!
We will definitely come back...

weekend with dog
It was unfortunately too short, but we will gladly come back. We were two girlfriends with two dogs for a weekend and felt very comfortable. It was optimal for two people. Very cozy, quiet, nature, beaches can be reached in 20 minutes. To catch your breath.

Withdrawn, quiet, splendid
We, 2 adults and 1 child (6 years old), had a wonderful vacation at Ponderosa. There are many possibilities to spend your time here: with the car, many destinations like the beaches of the North Sea, Alkmaar, Amsterdam, and Texel can be reached quickly. You can also explore a lot by bike. The bike paths are great.
Ponderosa has a dock and a paddle boat for paddle trips on the canal or the Amstelmeer.
You can enjoy and relax in the peace and seclusion on the terrace, in the garden of Ponderosa, or on the dock. You can also find everything you need in Anna Paulowna. The supermarkets are also open on Sundays. Walks through the forest and on the dike are also possible.
A highlight for all of us - but especially for our son - was horse riding and feeding the horses with Sandra. Sandra is a very nice host, contact person for questions, and very loving towards children.
A very nice vacation - secluded, quiet, wonderful. Highly recommended.

:A little dream.
Arriving and feeling comfortable, that's just the right description. We spent two wonderful weeks here. A small cottage, which is very lovingly furnished with a great covered terrace and a small garden, dogs are welcome. Located directly on the canal. You can quickly reach the Amstelmeer and IJsselmeer as well as the North Sea. Most destinations are no more than 15-20 minutes away by car. Sandra is a great landlord who always has an open ear for questions. The two household dogs Dicky and Daisy are enchanting. All in all, we didn't miss anything.

My name is Sandra and I live in one of the most beautiful places in the Kop van Noord Holland, together with my 2 dogs and horses. This place is surrounded by water, forest, dykes and many views. Since childhood, it was my dream to live in this beautiful place. My grandfather lived here for 45 years and operated the bridge to the Amstel Lake here. In this yard are 2 holiday homes, a large one for 5 to 6 people and a chalet for 2 to 3 people. Each house has an enclosed garden, private parking spaces, a (fishing) jetty and complete privacy. It's my pleasure to share this special place with you :-)
