Dreamlike

We were unfortunately only there for an extended weekend, but it was wonderfully beautiful. Sandra is a top host who was always there when we had questions. She loves this farm and is fully engaged in it. We will definitely be very happy to come back and bring more time.

Cozy cottage in a quiet setting with plenty of privacy

Ponderosa is a RECOMMENDATION. A nice and cozy little house where you can completely relax. Thanks to the covered terrace - where you are sheltered from the wind - you have a view over a fully fenced garden, where the dogs can play to their heart's content. We enjoyed our mini-vacation and will definitely come back again.

A week of paradise!

What a wonderful vacation we had! A nice and romantic little house, beautiful surroundings, and a warm hostess. Our 2 dogs had fun all day in the fenced garden and the ground next to it. Relaxing by the canal

I wonderful place to stay. Ideal for families, with lots to do within the near vicinity for children. Sandra is a star, she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.

And of course the pony ride for our daughter was the icing on the cake.

A wonderful little house

Upon arrival, the house welcomed me and my dog with its wonderful charm. The veranda overlooks a beautiful, well-kept garden and simultaneously offers a view of the canal and the private dock. There, one can spend a lot of good time. The house is very lovingly and stylishly furnished; the living area is flooded with light, and from here, one can also see the canal and watch the passing boats. The house is very clean, everything is well-kept and everything is available for a good vacation.
Sandra, as a host, is empathetic and humorous, and it is a great pleasure to have conversations with her.
The house Pondarosa with its people, animals, and surrounding nature is a magical, very special place where one feels comfortable.
I would love to come back!

Dreamlike!

We had two wonderful relaxing weeks in Sandra's paradise house. Rarely have we been welcomed and cared for so lovingly. Woken up in the morning by a rarely beautiful bird concert, enjoying the sunset in the evening with a glass of wine on the private dock. That's all you need for a little big happiness.
We felt very comfortable with our two little ones and would love to come back tomorrow. Thank you so much for that, Sandra!

I was there with my wife and our little daughter. From there, you can perfectly reach everything and make many nice trips. The accommodation is beautifully located in nature, with forest and river, and there is a lot of love in it, which can be seen in the little details.

A paradise on earth

A beautiful and lovingly designed chalet. We really enjoyed our time here and were able to relax wonderfully. In the little forest, we could take nice walks with our dog. It is a true pleasure to listen to the many birds. Sandra is a very likable and friendly host; she has decorated the house with so much warmth, there is always something to discover. The house has everything you need. In the evenings, one has a dreamlike view of the canal and fantastic sunsets from the terrace and also from the living room. Everything simply fits. We will definitely return.

Vacation in Paradise

We were here over Easter and enjoyed it very much. The little house is so lovingly furnished, with little eye-catching details everywhere. The location is absolutely idyllic, a true paradise. From the terrace, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Everything you need is available, and it's very clean. You can take nice walks through the little forest to the long dike. Even for our dog, there was fresh water and a bag of treats as a welcome. We will definitely come back.

Incredibly refreshing

The house was very nicely furnished and quite appealing. I was there with my small dog, and we were able to relax well. Fenced garden, adjacent forest, very quiet location but still a good connection to the surrounding larger towns like Callantsoog or Alkmaar. The host was very accommodating and helpful. Always reachable with questions and even helped me get ticks off my dog! I can really only highly recommend her and the house!

Unique and charming accommodation

I booked the accommodation for myself alone in March and was thrilled. Not only is the location absolutely quiet and beautiful, but you also find yourself in the best company of two delightful horses, various guinea fowls, and the two "house dogs." The landlady is a lovely and open-hearted woman, and it is enjoyable to talk to her (this way, I could improve my Dutch a little). It is not high-tech and sterile, but charming and furnished with a lot of attention to detail. Those who prefer a cozy atmosphere rather than perfection... should book. The bed is designed for two adults, but if "friends" book the house, it might get a bit snug – you have to like that ;-) I left my cats at home but know that there is a great environment here for your dogs (the two dogs Dicki and Daisy are happy to have company). The view and the small private jetty by the water - a dream. You have to ride a few kilometers to go shopping, but it’s flat, like everywhere in the Netherlands. I've made various trips in the area (animal park, butterfly house, Texel, Hoorn, and so on, all easily accessible by car or bike). I will definitely come back because I was able to unwind beautifully, I liked the surroundings, and you are in the middle of nature. Thank you, Sandra.

Vacation with Grandchildren

We were received very kindly. Sandra organized a trampoline for the children, and they were allowed to ride her pony Hansje. We could enjoy walking our dog in the "private forest." The house had plenty of bed linen and towels. There could be a bit more dishes and cutlery available. We really enjoyed our time and will certainly come back.

Cozy holiday home

The holiday house is cozy, romantic, warm, and has a beautiful view. The location is great, right by the water, and there is also a forest where you can take wonderful walks. It is also fantastic for animal lovers, as there are sheep, chickens, very friendly dogs that like to come visit you, beautiful horses, and a very sweet pony that my toddler was allowed to ride in the forest. Sandra (the owner) is super nice, accommodating, and was always there if we needed help with something. I definitely recommend this vacation apartment and look forward to our next visit.

Super soothing

It is a super nice and lovely little house, you have all the comforts. Everything is present. If it gets a bit cooler, the heating works super well! We really enjoyed it, and you can do all sorts of things. Fishing to relax, walking, and there are plenty of routes to go out and do things. Yes, super!

Little paradise

A cozy, charming little house. It smells nice and fresh when you enter, it’s clean, there are fresh flowers on the table, and a lovely little gift for us and the dogs. Everything is available as promised. Beautiful view towards the (fishing) water and the garden is well enclosed for the dogs. You can also take a nice walk through the forest area and along the (grass) dike where the horse and the Shetland pony regularly graze. You can reach the sea in less than half an hour. Den Helder (naval port), Julianadorp (Paal6), and Callantsoog (with some nice shops and beach pavilions). Supermarket 10 minutes away, dining options close by. Nice beautiful place, really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time.

Dreamlike Chalet

The view from the chalet is beautiful, and the surroundings invite you to take walks. The cottage is located in a green area, it's very quiet, the perfect place to relax. Nevertheless, the holiday home is so centrally located that you can quickly reach Julianadorp, Den Helder, and Hoorn. You can get to the North Sea quickly, but also to the IJsselmeer. The layout of the house is very cozy; however, the bathroom is really small. The landlady is very accommodating, helpful, and very friendly. Vacationing with a dog is absolutely no problem; love for animals is highly valued here.

Delightfully relaxing in a natural environment

We had a wonderful week surrounded by beautiful nature and lovely animals. Sandra is a fantastic host, making us feel very welcome. Our dogs quickly felt at ease and had a great time in the 'private' forest and on the dike. And upon arrival, there was a delicious snack waiting for them! The private dock made the outdoor experience complete, perfect for fishing or simply sitting back and enjoying the stunning view.

Small paradise

Wandering through the meadows, the roads grew narrower, and the last path made you feel even further from the inhabited world. Calmly weaving through the chickens, we arrived at our super cozy cottage. Equipped with all comforts! Recognizable from the photos on the website. A few sweet dogs welcomed us, just like the very hospitable owner. Horses to cuddle with, a private deck by the water, a wooded spot entirely private. A clean and complete little house. In the area, there is plenty to do, which the owner is happy to inform you about. For us, a small paradise that we would love to return to.

Vacation

nice landlord, it was pure nature. Small but nice, when the weather is good, the bathroom is too small. Only for 2 people as it gets too cramped otherwise. In the living room, the couch needs to be replaced as it is too low to the ground. Already a bit worn out. We had bikes with us, which wasn’t very good as there were no bike lanes, only along the road, and that was very dangerous as the Dutch do not show consideration.

De Pondarosa

Great location with a beautiful view of the canal and a very nice and helpful landlady Sandra. If you are looking for time to relax, this is the right place and dogs are well taken care of. The only downside is the very small bathroom with the mini sink. The second bedroom is actually a connecting room and really only suitable for small kids. Other than that, everything is great, we had a relaxing holiday at De Ponderosa :-)

Cozy accommodation

We were warmly welcomed by Sandra. The Pondarosa has everything you need. We felt very comfortable there. The living space is very lovingly furnished. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that we could not use the terrace and the kayaks. In summer, it is definitely a dream because you can simply relax and enjoy nature there. I hope we see the Pondarosa again soon!

Very warm and cozy!

We felt very comfortable and welcome.
Also, the reception from Sandra was very warm and there was a small but nice welcome gift for our dog :)
Overall, the cottage was very warm, lovingly and clean, furnished for humans and animals!
The cottage is quiet, but with the car, you can quickly reach various beaches and shopping opportunities.

A lovely serene place

I have been coming to Sandra's little house with the nice fenced garden where my dogs are also safe since 2019, twice a year. I come for peace and to write my books. The expanse, the water with the long dike, the forest, the animals, everything is around me. Sandra is a cheerful and helpful hostess, but she finds privacy essential for her guests. Recreation guaranteed

We were thrilled with the cozy holiday cottage, the beautiful surroundings, the direct access to the water, and the truly wonderful host Sandra!
Our daughter (10) was allowed to help take care of the horses and ponies and, weather permitting, go for a ride. We also fell in love with the really sweet dogs.
Despite continuous rain, we had a great time!

Withdrawn, quiet, splendid

We, 2 adults and 1 child (6 years old), had a wonderful vacation at Ponderosa. There are many possibilities to spend your time here: with the car, many destinations like the beaches of the North Sea, Alkmaar, Amsterdam, and Texel can be reached quickly. You can also explore a lot by bike. The bike paths are great.
Ponderosa has a dock and a paddle boat for paddle trips on the canal or the Amstelmeer.
You can enjoy and relax in the peace and seclusion on the terrace, in the garden of Ponderosa, or on the dock. You can also find everything you need in Anna Paulowna. The supermarkets are also open on Sundays. Walks through the forest and on the dike are also possible.
A highlight for all of us - but especially for our son - was horse riding and feeding the horses with Sandra. Sandra is a very nice host, contact person for questions, and very loving towards children.
A very nice vacation - secluded, quiet, wonderful. Highly recommended.

:A little dream.

Arriving and feeling comfortable, that's just the right description. We spent two wonderful weeks here. A small cottage, which is very lovingly furnished with a great covered terrace and a small garden, dogs are welcome. Located directly on the canal. You can quickly reach the Amstelmeer and IJsselmeer as well as the North Sea. Most destinations are no more than 15-20 minutes away by car. Sandra is a great landlord who always has an open ear for questions. The two household dogs Dicky and Daisy are enchanting. All in all, we didn't miss anything.
