Since March 2020 with much love renovated 86 m2 large bright apartment on the ground floor / basement of our own home with sauna, fitness area, private parking. The flat has its own entrance (through communal hallway) and you have it all to yourself
As soon as you enter the large and spacious hallway, you feel a sense of spaciousness that continues in all the rooms
The bathroom is decorated in light, feel-good colours with a wall-mounted WC, washbasin and walk-in rain shower and promises a wonderfully relaxed showering experience
In the adjoining bright living/dining area with 2nd sleeping option, you have a beautiful view of the small south-facing terrace and our garden.
The large passage to the kitchen completes the feeling of freedom and space.
Descend the open staircase to the large bedroom in the basement with box-spring bed and en-suite bathroom. Here, underfloor heating warms you up and the rain shower, which can also be walked in here, prepares you for a relaxing and restful night and a good start to the day in the morning
In the living/dining room there is satellite TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, PS4 games console and free LAN and W-LAN. All windows can be completely darkened with electronic shutters.
And on your lovely little private terrace you can chill out and prepare delicious delicacies on a Weber grill.
With a private parking space directly in front of the flat, you have neither parking worries nor long walks.

Location and surroundings of object
Our house is located in a small settlement with houses at the northernmost city limits of Duisburg.
The nearby Rheinaue (approx. 2 km, nature reserve) offers walkers, joggers as well as cyclists beautiful paths in every season.
Another attraction is our Rhine ferry in Alt-Walsum. With this ferry, you can reach the "other side of the Rhine" in no time at all, both as a pedestrian and by bicycle or car, where there are endless jogging, hiking and cycling paths. You are welcome to bring your bicycles to explore our beautiful Lower Rhine by bike.
Shopping facilities (Aldi, Edeka, drugstore Rossmann), a pharmacy, doctor, post office and bus stop are within walking distance (approx. 150 m). Every Wednesday and Saturday there is also a weekly market with fresh regional vegetables, fruit and dairy products.
Our city Duisburg with its Landschaftspark Nord (former blast furnace), the new marina in the inner harbour and a well-rounded gastronomy, the Centro Oberhausen, Bochum (musical Starlight Express), Düsseldorf, Cologne and the "Roman city" Xanten on the other side of the Rhine with its Xanten South and North Sea are only a few highlights of the beautiful Lower Rhine, which is in constant change/development from an industrial metropolis, characterised by the steel industry, to a cultural and leisure region. The nearby Netherlands can also be reached quickly by car.
There is a bus stop within walking distance (about 200 m), from where you can take the tram to the nearby railway stations of Dinslaken and Duisburg and then get to Düsseldorf, Essen, Oberhausen, Mülheim, Cologne, etc. "stress-free".

Feel at home
We spent our annual meeting among study friends in this enchanting accommodation.
You really lack nothing here. The basic amenities plus many thoughtful little touches (e.g., snacks on the table, water and glasses in the sauna area, a coffee machine filled with fresh beans…) ensure that you can relax immediately.
For everything else you might need, you can get to supermarkets, drugstores, bakeries, restaurants, and snack bars in no time at all. A really great big playground is just around the corner.
And last but not least, the Stürmer family is approachable and helpful in all matters, which is simply outstanding.
Thank you very much for the lovely weekend, we will definitely be back.

Really very beautiful apartment with everything you need.
The apartment is incredibly beautiful. Everything is very comfortable, very nice, clean and modern. Really, everything is present. We rented this apartment for 1 week, and we will definitely come back.
Mrs. Regina is very, very sweet. A very warm welcome, always there and reachable.
The contact was already very nice and good in advance.
We had a very, very good week, and will definitely come back when we want to stay in this area.

Family vacation in the Ruhr area
Wonderful vacation in the Ruhr area.
My partner, my 8-year-old son, and I have spent four wonderful days in northern Duisburg. The accommodation was not only beautiful but also super equipped and very clean. We could ask Regina for any questions and got great excursion tips: Ferienpark Irrland, ferry trip to Orsay, Landschaftspark Hamborn, just to name a few.
The apartment offers plenty of space to relax and cook and is perfect as a starting point for many activities in the Ruhr area. Everything is available from laundry detergent to oil, towels, and bed linen. There is a coffee machine with delicious coffee. If you want to make a detour to Holland, it's not far. If you want to use the apartment to work or be on your laptop, you can look forward to stable and fast W Lan. Supermarkets, bakeries, a pharmacy, and a drugstore can be reached on foot. There is also an express bus that takes you to Duisburg Central Station.
I can 100% recommend the vacation apartment. If we travel to the Ruhr area again, we would gladly stay in this vacation apartment with comfort, reliable contacts, and great connections.
