Location and surroundings of object

Surroundings and recreational activities:
Not far from the lively port town of Paimpol is the small village of Plourivo. Plourivo has a highly recommended bakery, a small supermarket, a pharmacy, two hairdressers and a small bar.
Our lovingly renovated cottage in country style is surrounded by fields, about 3 kilometers from Plourivo, in the village Kerlau. Here, peace-seeking lovers of Brittany get their money's worth. Fresh air, heavenly peace and a lovingly landscaped large garden invite you to relax far away from everyday life.
The stronghold of fishing and oyster farming, Paimpol, is located about 6 kilometers from Plourivo. This beautiful Breton town, starting with the cod fishing off Newfoundland and Iceland, is marked by its shipping history. Today, the town owes its fame to an oyster: the famous "Paimpolaise".
The old town (Vieux Paimpol) is home to numerous restaurants offering regional fish specialties. Past delicatessens, galleries and antique stores, the small streets lead to the harbor. The pretty marina is a tourist center and meeting place for locals in the port city. The marina is surrounded by numerous restaurants and cafes, from where you can watch the lively activity at the boat docks. Here you will also have the opportunity to taste fresh oysters (paimpolaise), which are farmed in the sea bay.
The weekly market, which fills the alleys every Tuesday with numerous stalls, is a highlight for any fish lover.
The charming countryside around Paimpol can be explored on hikes and bike rides. An excursion to the small fishing village of Loguivy-de-la-mer offers you the opportunity to taste the scallops or the blue lobster
A special experience is a ride on the Vapeur de Trieux, a historic railroad. Twice a day the train runs along the Trieux river from Paimpol to Pontrieux. Pontrieux is a small town full of character, also called "little Venice in the Trégor". The numerous historic wash houses that line the Trieux can be viewed from an unusual perspective by electric boat during the day or in the evening.
From the Pointe de lÀrcouest on the mainland in Paimpol, it takes about 10 minutes by ferry to reach one of the most beautiful islands in Brittany, Île de Bréhat. The island owes its name Flower Island to the many exotic and indigenous plants
The region of Guingamp-Baie de Paimpol is also the paradise of hikers. You will love the GR 34 hiking trail with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beaches of Bonarparte, Brehec and Palu. The customs officers' path, GR 34, was used for a century by the customs officers who searched for smugglers along the coast. From the banks of the Trieux to the cliffs of Plouézec, you can walk along the coast for 60 km and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes.
At the end of the village of Le Québo, another exceptional feature awaits the Brittany vacationer: the Sillon de Talbert, a promontory about 3.2 km long and 35 m wide. This nature reserve with a size of 206 hectares offers shelter to numerous birds. Curlews, turnstones, little terns and cormorants find nesting places here. Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve on the Sillon de Talbert between April 15 and August 1.

Brittany has much to offer for those seeking peace and quiet, birdwatchers, nature lovers, hikers, people interested in culture and romantics.
