Nestled in the picturesque hills of the Sauerland region in Herscheid, this exclusive, barrier-free holiday apartment with two bathrooms offers a sustainable retreat for up to eight people and guarantees a climate-neutral stay.

It features a fully equipped kitchen including a fully automatic coffee machine, a 9 m² southeast-facing balcony, another 9 m² south-facing balcony, and a west-facing self-service beer garden complete with a Char-Broil Performance gas grill – ideal for relaxing after an eventful day. Fresh drinking water is available directly from the tap – chilled, filtered, and in still, medium, or sparkling varieties. For guests arriving late (especially motorcycle groups), the landlord offers a beverage service (beer and shandy). Netflix and Disney+ are also available for entertainment.

The Märkisches Sauerland region is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts: hiking, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding (arranged by the landlord), and water sports are all easily accessible. Attractions such as the Atta Cave, the Balve Caves, and Altena Castle are nearby, and the L707 motorcycle race track is just 2 km away. Guided mountain bike tours for all levels start right outside the door. Secure outdoor bicycle parking is available. At the Plettenberg Tank Museum, you have the opportunity to drive a tracked tank yourself (30 minutes for EUR 250). A day trip to Willingen to see Germany's longest pedestrian suspension bridge (Skywalk) should also be on your itinerary.

Thanks to a 35.6 kWh solar power system, you'll have a reliable energy supply even during power outages. Your stay is 100% CO₂-neutral, as all greenhouse gas emissions generated during your stay are directly offset through the use of renewable energy.

The holiday apartment really impressed us. The two modern bathrooms with walk-in showers are ideal for larger groups or families. The spacious common area with the large table for up to 8 people is perfect for shared meals, game nights, or simply cozy gatherings. The modern kitchen with a fully automatic coffee machine is also a real highlight and very comfortable. The location is pleasantly quiet, making it wonderful for relaxation. Additionally, the house is designed sustainably – among other things with photovoltaics, water recovery, etc. – which we found very positive. Particularly noteworthy are the friendly and extremely accommodating landlords who take great care of their guests. Overall, a great accommodation that we would recommend at any time.

Our experience at the holiday apartment was quite pleasant. The space is clean and practical, with enough room for our family of five. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the barbecue and outdoor seating. Although the decor is simple, it serves its purpose, and we felt at home during our stay. The location is a bit remote, which may not suit everyone, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Just a heads up: make sure to bring your coffee beans, as the coffee machine was ready, but we had to supply the beans ourselves. Overall, a good place for a quiet retreat.
