This beautiful holiday home in a farm called ""Il Borgo Degli Alpaca"" is perfect for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany. Ideal for families.
The farm is 1 km from the beautiful, medieval, historic center of a Tuscan hilling village: Montecastello. An excellent location to optimally enjoy the countryside. From here you can also visit Pisa (25 min), the sea of Volterra (40 min) and Lucca (40 min).
The apartment has an independent entrance on the ground floor and a well-equipped kitchenette. Via a wooden staircase you reach the first floor with comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. With air conditioning, a fireplace and central heating it is suitable for all seasons. For the entrance you will find tables and chairs to eat outside and the fenced garden (1500 m²) with a nice swimming pool and games for children is shared with the other guests.

Unfortunately, we did not get the vacation apartment that we actually booked based on the photos. The assigned apartment had no window in one of the bedrooms, was very noisy, and was partially separated from the neighbor by plywood, in addition to having a non-functioning air conditioning. We were not informed in advance that this change would take place. Too bad, because the apartment we received we would not have booked due to the rooms. The outdoor area and the pool, which is situated among olive trees, were very beautiful. The pool also matches the photo in the booking documents. The photos of the holiday apartment must be accurately represented on the online portals, so that one can consciously decide for or against the apartment.

We were very dissatisfied with both the house and the "service" from Belvilla!
In fact, the property we rented did not even begin to match what was presented on the supply side. In detail:
1. The house was advertised with a photo of a large pool and stated that the house had a pool. However, this pool does not actually belong to the house, but is located on the premises of a farm and can only be reached after a minimum 2-minute drive by car.
2. Another pool can be seen in the other pictures that belong to the expose, but this is not explicitly advertised. This pool actually belongs to the house. However, this pool is not usable. Rather, the pool has been out of order for weeks, the water is green, the pool is overgrown and inhabited by frogs.
3. The house is advertised with the remark that the area (garden, terrace) is shared with "other guests" "only for recreational purposes". In fact, two of the five units had been rented to about half a dozen male "migrant workers" who used the premises semi-naked to do their laundry.
In addition, the house was only superficially cleaned. There were only four chairs available, some of the beds smelled smoky and there wasn't enough cutlery, just to name a few other shortcomings.
Immediately after our arrival at the house, we informed the Belvilla SOS hotline by telephone. At the express request of the employee, we then emailed photos that documented the condition of the house. After several phone calls to Belvilla, the employee confirmed that the house was not in the condition promised. The communication with the owner present on site was an impertinence in terms of language and content. The neighbor who came along was able to confirm that the problems were known and that we weren't the ones

The proximity to the sea of Volterra was a pleasant surprise! We spent a lovely day at the beach during our stay,

The shared pool has been a success for our family! It’s great to have such a spacious garden to relax in. We also enjoyed the outdoor dining area.
