The house is well-maintained and the apartment is clean. It was a positive aspect that there was an extra bike storage room. In terms of equipment, everything we needed in terms of technical devices was available in the apartment. It would have been nice to have a bit more storage space for food and the availability of a grill that could have been used on the terrace. A problem that arose with the toilet flush was resolved within a day. It was also positive that there was a parking space available for each apartment. However, these spaces are very close together, making it impossible to unload sideways when the parking lot is fully occupied without first driving the car forward. The beach was easily reachable within a 10 to 15-minute walk. The beach is clean. A downside is that grocery shopping could only be done in the nearby towns, e.g., Kühlungsborn. For example, there was no bakery in Heiligendamm. The vacation was beautiful.

The apartment's equipment is top-notch, the beach is great, but unfortunately, there is no possibility to buy rolls or other food in the village. Thanks to the bike rental service, one is mobile and can go out to get the essentials.

To explore the area around Heiligendamm on foot, by bike, or by car, the location of the apartment is ideal. In beautiful autumn weather, we cycled several kilometers along the Baltic Sea to Warnemünde in the east and west to Kühlungsborn and Rerik. The bike paths (like the Baltic Sea Cycle Route) are well-developed almost everywhere! There are plenty of worthwhile excursion destinations! Heiligendamm itself is a very quiet place right by the beach, which can be reached via a forest path. (A shorter way is through the hotel complex, officially not allowed but tolerated!) For those looking for a quieter holiday spot away from tourist crowds, it is ideal. There is a good restaurant "Herzoglicher Wartesaal," reachable on foot from the apartment in just a few minutes, located directly at the train station where the nostalgic steam train "Molli" makes a stop. However, the nearest grocery store is in Bad Doberan, so one needs to prepare in advance. The apartment itself is modern and cozy and very well equipped, even with its own terrace. There is nothing to complain about. Very practical is the storage option for our own bikes in the bike room in the building. We will definitely come back, as we quickly felt at home in this apartment.

We rented the vacation apartment for the weekend as we were invited to a family celebration, and this way we could also enjoy the beach and the Baltic Sea. It was very suitable for these purposes. The dining area for outdoor meals was nice as well. By car, it took just 5 minutes to reach the beach. If one had more time available, the distance would not have been far for walking either. For a longer stay, the extra bed for the children in the living room would have been too impractical for us.

This vacation apartment is suitable for a relaxing holiday. The amenities are very high quality. The rating only pertains to the vacation apartment. Everyone should inform themselves about the town of Heiligendamm. A short access to the beach is blocked by the Grand Hotel.

Unfortunately, we missed everything in Heiligendamm that we took for granted in other spa resorts: 1. Culture on site 2. Bread roll sales or any kind of discount store in the area 3. Bicycle rental very far away in Börgerende 4. The path to the beach was very far through fences of the spa clinic and hotels. (The direct path to the pier should go through the hotel’s own park!!) It is very strange that one is not allowed to enter this area. The G7 is long gone... We do not know what the tourist tax was charged for here. The apartments of the "Residenz von Flotow" are modern and clean.
