Our "Can Bullo y Burro" is located in the center of Porreres, a few minutes walk to the town hall square with restaurants and cafes
The village house is almost 170 years old and was modernized from scratch a few years ago
and redesigned.
However, the charm of the historic building should not be lost
We think it has succeeded quite well to combine modern comfort with somewhat less perfect, but beautiful and authentic building elements
The massive old walls that provide pleasant coolness during the summer are crooked and only plainly plastered, in some places the local Marés stones of the walls were exposed, in others the lime paint came off a little. This is part of it.
The traditional entrance area, which Mallorcans like to use as a TV room,
has been preserved largely original.
The wall to the former place for donkey carts or other carts was demolished
Here arose in a quaint little room with desk and sofa,
Above the passage to the Salón "Bullo" has found its place
In the spacious living room there is a well-functioning modern wood stove, TV, sofas, a rocking chair and "Burro", the little donkey that keeps company to everyone who makes himself comfortable here.
From here you go to the cozy dining room kitchen combination, which is adjoined by a practical utility room for washing machine, refrigerator, pantry shelf,
and through an old wooden double door to the outdoors .
For cool evenings, a blue flame gas stove is available to warm comfortably inside or outside.
For those familiar with typical Mallorcan village houses, the patio will surprise you: A large garden oasis, with rampant plants, a romantic dining area, covered sitting area, old well, the guest bathroom and still enough space for sun loungers and the salt water pool ( 2.5 x5 meters)
An additional no terrace on the roof of the former chicken coop offers beautiful views over old village houses, on the nearby church tower and neighbor's well-preserved mill wheel
The upper floor is reserved for three double bedrooms and three shower bathrooms, two of them en suite.
Here, too, the character of the former storehouse still appears, especially through the walls which are only whitewashed and left as rough as they always were
We have equipped the house with everything necessary for a comfortable stay and self-catering.

Porreres is located in the southeast of the island about 20 minutes drive from the Es Trenc beach, no
30 minutes to Palma.
It is a typical Mallorcan farming village, narrow streets, densely built with old houses and still has a fairly authentic village life that works even without tourists
Folded up sidewalks and closed rolling gates out of season do not exist here.
The landscape around the village is particularly beautiful and unspoiled.
Gently rolling hills, apricot, vine and almond cultivation, surrounded by the typical walls of stacked field stones.

Actually we wanted to go to the sea, but there the tourism is omnipresent, and we fell in love with a masonry in the countryside near Porreres. Then we were looking for a small cottage for relatives and friends, instead we succumbed to the charm of Can Bullo y Burro We like it very much, this house in the middle of the village, where you easily feel more like a villager than a tourist, and we would like to offer visitors a little oasis for their vacations. We consider our tenants as our guests. We want them to feel like that.
