The house is restored and comfortable; it has 2 terraces and a large kitchen-living room and is habitable all year round (heating, down duvets).We have installed a high-quality bathroom in 2017. The surrounding area offers a wealth of cultural, scenic and sporting opportunities. The weekly market is 5 minutes away by car. All bedrooms have fly screens.

Our house is located on the outskirts of Aubenas in a pure and quiet residential area, surrounded by a large garden with a variety of fruit trees – enough to eat your fill! Aubenas offers abundant shopping opportunities (a magnificent weekly market) and in summer, cultural events of all kinds.

France pure!

The holiday home has its own charm.
The layout is unusual but very appealing. The Brühl-Gering family has created a very nice 'retreat' here.

The bathroom/WC is accessed via the covered terrace, a bit unusual but you quickly get used to it.

We drove to the surrounding villages and towns with their winding alleys, churches, monuments, or contemporary art and then explored on foot... dreamy! Highly recommended is the well-developed bike path 'Via Ardèche,' which is now accessible for 84 km => mostly on former railway tracks. . . . unfortunately, the 'entry point' in Aubenas / St. Etienne-de-Fontbellon was not known to the staff in the tourist info. . . . and sometimes the signage for the connecting routes is a bit 'chaotic'. . . just ask cyclists, they are happy to help. . . We found the entrance on the way back from a tour. . . when approaching the holiday home from Fontbellon, you cross a small bridge that can only be driven over by a car => while passing under the viaduct of the cycle path. . .

The attraction is the landscape itself. . . . with the Ardèche, its mountains and valleys, the markets in the villages. . . . . The last time I was in this area was 41 years ago, and I wanted to explore this wonderful region again with my wife: it was worth it!!!

Beautiful holiday home in a quiet location

The holiday home is located between the exit of Aubenas and the entrance of St. Etienne. Despite the detailed directions from the very helpful landlady, the house was not easy to find. Fortunately, there are friendly and helpful residents in the nearby area.
We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, and fridge/freezer combination. Pots, pans, dishes, and glasses are sufficiently available. We lacked nothing.
There is a fiber optic connection for the internet; the Wi-Fi did not cut out even in the garden and on the terrace.
There are no shopping options within walking distance. But about 1.5 km away, there are well-stocked (organic) supermarkets, butcher shops, and bakeries in both Aubenas and St. Etienne.
Getting used to is the installation of the television in the fireplace of a bedroom, where you can watch the program sitting or lying on a bed. If occupied by several people, the television would be better placed in the common room. We also did not miss the television due to the good internet connection. Within a radius of 50 km, there are many attractions, hiking, and swimming opportunities available. For cyclists, there are some railway lines that have been converted into bike paths. They are relatively flat and can also be easily navigated with a hybrid bike. The Rhone bike path is also recommended here. The landlord was easily reachable by both phone and email and responded quickly. We used the house with two people and can recommend it.

2 beautiful weeks in the Ardeche

We spent 2 very relaxing weeks in this lovingly restored and perfectly equipped French country house.
I can't name a clear highlight, maybe the beautiful terraces, where you can find a pleasant spot for any weather and any time of day, or the large natural garden. When we were there, it had ripe cherries.
Or the beautiful, modern bathroom. The contact with Ms. Gering was always very pleasant and uncomplicated, and she provides extensive information about the vacation destination, possible activities, and various practical information even before the vacation. The surroundings, the typical rural France offers something new to see every day, the beautiful old villages, the small markets, and also the large market in Aubenas, the countless rivers, gorges, the swimming spots, along with the more famous highlights like the Gorges de l'Ardèche, the Chauvet 2 cave.

The house is located on the outskirts of Aubenas, elevated in a purely residential area, and one can quickly travel by car in all directions. The options are limited on foot from the house. The vacation was a lot of fun for us, and we can only recommend the house and the Ardeche.

Dream Days in "Mon Brio"

Our expectations of accommodation with a South French flair were fully met. The large natural stone house at the end of a cul-de-sac is located in an extremely quiet area and can be easily found thanks to a navigation device. The bypass is quickly reached to start impressive excursions to the Ardèche or into the mountains. The house offers plenty of space. The highlight is the covered terrace (mosquito protection is absolutely necessary in summer), which, along with the spacious and very well-equipped kitchen, forms the center of the house.
Contact with the hosts was effortless and possible at any time.
All in all, a successful, relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings with a generous accommodation.
We sincerely thank the hosts.

Beautiful natural stone house with a South French flair

The holiday home is equipped with everything you need. In the kitchen, you'll find spices and oil; detergent is already available for the first laundry, and there’s even charcoal for the grill on site. Surrounded by a huge garden, you'll have plenty of peace and quiet, yet you're just 5 minutes by car from the bakery and supermarket. You can choose between a covered and an open terrace. The beds were very comfortable, and we had a great holiday with the kids here.

Pure South of France

We wanted to spend a holiday in the south and were not disappointed by the house. It is a picture-perfect house in the south of France. It is comfortably furnished and in a quiet location, with very good facilities. The Ardeche is also a varied area. The many information, such as the excursion tips and the market dates, which Fam. Gering provide, were very helpful. For example, we enjoyed swimming in Jaujac and the view from Mirabel.

All-around beautiful!

Our stay as a family at Mas Brio was beautiful. The house exudes history, the garden is spacious, and thanks to the outdoor shower, there was always the opportunity to refresh oneself in summer temperatures. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. And the hosts were always available and had great tips for the area. Thank you for the wonderful time, gladly again!

Ardèche - the wild sister of Provence

We had a fantastic three-week vacation in one of the most beautiful areas of France. It's not necessarily easy to find something nice and suitable with children. How happy we were with this wonderful house. Lovingly furnished and stylishly restored - the charm of the past combined with all the comforts of modernity. The kitchen is equipped for preparing all meals, even for making jam or juicing. There is hardly a kitchen appliance that doesn't exist. The bathroom is wonderful, even with a bathtub and rain shower! The upper terrace - where we enjoyed all our meals - is a dream. The garden is wild and full of fruit trees - here you can unwind.
The city center of Aubena is only a few minutes away, for shopping or excursions you have to drive a bit, but that is probably the case everywhere in the region. But each drive is an experience in itself, passing along wild mountain rivers, past spectacular mountain walls or through small French villages (for excursions, not for shopping).
I know it sounds like a brochure, but it is actually true that I still get so excited when I think about our vacation!

beautiful holiday week

We had a lovely week in this house. We really enjoyed the evenings on the terrace. We could have done without the mosquitoes in the morning and evening, but we found the scorpion exciting and the mother cat with her two babies provided entertainment.

Shopping facilities are quickly accessible from the accommodation, even by bike (although the return journey is a bit more difficult).

The equipment left nothing to be desired.

The communication with the landlords was very positive. Thank you also for the additional tips for activities. There is indeed a lot to explore in Aubenas and the surrounding area.

The garden area could be made more child-friendly, at least if you have a son who likes to play football…By the way, there is a football field nearby where we then went.

In conclusion: we had a great week in the house, enjoyed our vacation, and would love to come back.

We (family of 4) had a wonderful week in the very spacious and tasteful "Mas Brio." The house lacks nothing, certainly not space. One can find a new favorite spot in the house, on the terraces, and in the garden for every time of day. The landlords are friendly and helpful. The town of Aubenas is lively and worth seeing, and the region offers excursions for several weeks. Those who enjoy hiking - not necessarily in the summer - are in the right place here. We can absolutely recommend this house.

In this relaxing and peaceful region of the Ardéche

we spent two sunny holiday weeks in the beautiful holiday home of the Gering family.
In addition to hikes, visits to the surrounding charming little towns - mostly at their market times - we enjoyed the warm summer days at various bathing places. Here, the extensive tips summarised in a helft were very helpful
Our Hovawart dog also felt very comfortable here and made friends with the three neighbouring dogs.
All in all: very relaxing and we like to think back to the beautiful days.

Beautiful house with a large outdoor area

Old natural stone house, modernized to contemporary standards with a very well-equipped kitchen, allowing you to process the delicacies from local vendors. The garden is beautifully landscaped, large, and terraced. Everything necessary is also available here. Deduction from us because the toilet/bathroom is not integrated into the house and can only be accessed via the terrace; the access to the house from the village is tricky.

The inflationary handling of very good grades (i.e. cannot be better) and generalized judgments occasionally increases, hence my efforts for a differentiated evaluation.
we found a very well-kept and beautifully located domicile, which leaves hardly anything to be desired in terms of equipment. Lovingly restored spaces with attention to detail. A very successful layout with a centrally located kitchen that deserves the name and is not, as is often found, a poorly sorted and incomplete hodgepodge of outdated items.
The large property offers space and tranquility, and throughout the day one can always find an ideal spot for sunbathing, reading, or social gatherings. The terrace directly in front of the kitchen is equally inviting and cozy for breakfast and for a leisurely evening with a glass of red wine. There would be only a minor deduction for the bathroom; it could possibly look more modern. But this didn't really bother us, as everything worked perfectly. The surroundings of Aubenas naturally offer everything in terms of landscape. We were only there for a week, but there is certainly a program for a longer stay. After many stays in the south over a period of more than 20 years in various houses with different experiences, the house in Aubenas is unequivocally one of our favorites. If you like southern France, you are in the right place.

Dream holiday at "Mas Brio

We, a family of five, spent two weeks in the beautiful natural stone house in Aubenas. The house has everything you need and is very tastefully furnished, with great attention to detail.
