Different from the others! With our sensitive architectural hand, we have transformed the light-flooded Hohenraunau holiday home from a farm into a spacious, robust and lively holiday home.
In the process, a unique ensemble of large and small rooms for living, sleeping, playing, eating and feeling good has been created from the original residential house with stable and barn and united under the more than 22-metre-long, continuous roof.
The cottage offers security and has 3 large rooms for living, playing and eating, 5 bedrooms, a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, two bathrooms with shower and separate toilets as well as a covered veranda, an open sun deck and a 2,000m2 garden.

Location and surroundings of object

The Hohenraunau holiday home is located in the Middle Swabian village of the same name, Hohenraunau, with 269 inhabitants. It is situated on the southern slope of an elevation between the Kammeltal and the valley with the Krumbächle, in the midst of a charming environment of green forests, gentle hills, wide meadow valleys and baroque onion domes.
The town of Krumbach/Schwaben, the heart of the Swabian Baroque Corner, is only 4 kilometres away, and Legoland near Günzburg is just 30 minutes away by car.

Directions:
From Stuttgart via the A8 motorway to the Ulm-Elchingen junction, then take the A7 motorway towards Kempten to the Weißenhorn exit, overland to Krumbach and Hohenraunau.
From the direction of Munich via the A96 motorway to the Mindelheim exit, via the B16 to Niederraunau, then turn off to Hohenraunau.
From the direction of Würzburg via the A7 motorway in the direction of Kempten to the Weißenhorn exit, via the countryside to Krumbach and Hohenraunau.
From Nuremberg via motorway A8 to Günzburg exit, via B16 to Krumbach and Hohenraunau.

Evaluation of the house

A great house that is suitable for multiple families and friends.
Anytime we would go there again.
It has exceptionally good amenities, especially in the kitchen. Towels, toilet paper, dish towels, etc. are all provided.
Nothing is missing, and you could arrive with minimal luggage.

Also, the communication with the owners is top-notch. All in all, we have absolutely no complaints.

Family reunion

Dreamy holiday home

A super well-equipped house, clean and well-maintained. We (8 adults, 5 children, and a dog) felt comfortable from the very first moment. Nothing was missing! The layout of the space, the large garden, were perfect for our needs, and the playroom was a highlight for the kids. Very nice contact with the landlord.

Great family vacation

The Hohenraunau house offers plenty of space for the whole family.
We were there over New Year's Eve with 4 families in the beautiful house.
Nothing was missing.
The children had plenty of space to play.

The house looks just like it does in the pictures.
The wood-burning stove was also a highlight for us.

We can highly recommend the house for families.

A great house for all generations

We wanted to gather the whole family with three generations under one roof and at one table over New Year's Eve, and Haus Hohenraunau was ideal for this. We found a very friendly prepared house in which we and the children (4-6 years old) felt very comfortable. We were immediately enthusiastic about the excellently equipped kitchen. One of our sons is a cook and the kitchen was indeed used daily.
The house, the covered terrace and the garden fully met our expectations, the playroom offered wonderful activities for the girls, you could also do super good crafts at the table there and the grown-ups could even watch the news.
The two bathrooms are so big that you can easily get several children ready and they are bright and can be ventilated at any time. There are plenty of shower, hand, dish and cleaning towels.
It was really great that the children had so many opportunities to play and let off steam in the garden and that we were able to keep a close eye on them! ? The trampoline was a big hit, but also the swing was used with pleasure and the little hut became the "dwarf kingdom" where the four girls played for hours. The wood in the shed was also great; we used it to make a bonfire for stick bread on New Year's Eve.

Haus Hohenraunau is a jewel

We stayed at Haus Hohenraunau in August with 8 adults and three toddlers or babies and spent a wonderful week there. Everyone was delighted with the spaciousness of the rooms and the garden area. We were able to sit together comfortably or withdraw, just as we wished. The fabulous kitchen and dining room facilities made the "catering" job much easier. We could chill out in the playroom and lounge if we wanted to. The garden was so wonderfully green and spacious that you could really feel like you were in nature.The highlight, however, was the campfire, both for children and adults.
Unfortunately, it was so cool in the morning and later in the evening that it was no longer pleasant outside.
The generous provision of towels and toilet paper, as well as firewood, also deserves special mention. The arrival and departure times are particularly user-friendly, especially if you are there with a larger group. Overall, we can say that the house is a jewel and we felt very comfortable there.

Family holiday

We had wonderful days in the house in Hohenraunau with our family, children and a baby. The garden is just great for letting off steam, even for 20-somethings and 30-somethings; playing badminton and also yoga and swings! We enjoyed the fireplace and barbecue in the evening. There was enough room in the house for 8 adults and the children's room is ideal for toddlers. The living room on the 1st floor was also very nice for chilling out and the long dining table is just ideal for a large family. Two fridges for drinks on hot days worked well and the kitchen is very well equipped and has space for lots of helping hands. The house is very personal and cosy and attractively furnished and absolutely clean. The bathrooms are very clean and bright and above all there are enough towels! Just drive up and feel good, without much preparation. The landlords have thought and planned ahead.

Family celebration for the 60th birthday

We stayed at the Hohenraunau holiday home with 6 adults and 4 children aged 1 to 12. The house and the great garden were an experience. The children were thrilled with the house and we adults also felt very comfortable. The playroom with climbing wall, slide and hammock was a hit! The 5-year-old's statement says it all: "This is a dream house"!
The outdoor swimming pool in Krumbach is highly recommended and the bathing pond is also great. Of course, we also had to spend a day in Legoland. We were happy and satisfied all round.

For years satisfied guests

Once a year we spend a long weekend at House Hohenraunau and are more than satisfied. The house is well equipped, the large garden is inviting for playing and relaxing, and the contact with the landlord has always been uncomplicated. This holiday home is highly recommended, even with children. From the trampoline and swing in the garden to numerous play options in the house, there is plenty to keep the little ones entertained. We have already reserved for next year. :-)

25 years ago, this was our first project. A dream project for a young architect couple: Converting a farmhouse with barn into a holiday home for several families in Bavaria. 5 years ago we bought the house! So something we planned right that we still like it.... We enjoy spending time in the house with family and friends chilling, cooking, hiking, cycling or at the lake and in the forest. We have been sharing these experiences with loving guests for 5 years!
