Herdade da Giblaceira has been a household estate for more than 400 years in the village of Montemor O Novo, at about 95km. from Lisbon and 36km from the former royal city of Evora in the countryside of Alentejo. The estate is situated in a valley at an altitude of 260m., in a valley of the Serra de Monfurada, surrounded by mauresque gardens, an olive orchard, a reservoir and about 200 hectares of cork oaks, where cow and sheep pasture. When the Dutch owners acquired the property, it was a ruin, which they completely restaured to its original state in 2005. The farm is divided into 7 terraced cottages, of which one is used occassionally by the owners. The Herdade is provided with a beautiful communal swimming pool (10x20m.) with a small diving-board and Roman stairs,
where non-swimmers can also bathe delightfully. There is a communal laundry-room and the owners can arrange several activities for you (jeepsafari's, flight tours in ultra-light aircrafts). Swimming and fishing is possible in the nearby reservoir, measuring 4 hectares. The farm is in full swing, with 150 cows and bulls and 1200 sheep, lambing throughout the whole year. The barns and tractors are at 500m from the Herdade. Montemor O Novo is about 7km from the estate and the small village of Reguengo disposes of a minimarket, a post-office and 2 café's serving light meals. Every 2nd
Saturday of the month, a gipsy market takes place. In May and September
'feira's' are held; a sort of fair with loads of activities. Once a week, a cattle-auction of national importance takes place in Montemor.
Herdade da Giblaceira offers you everything for a great holiday; beautifully equipped apartments, a large storage reservoir and a magnificent swimming pool.
The last 3 km of the access road to Giblaceira is not asphalted but is always kept in good condition by the owners who use this road daily.

For a week we were in a Portuguese oasis. From a spacious terrace covered with flowers in front of our house, we looked over a large swimming pool with beautiful hills in the background, a green lawn and beautiful plants and flowers everywhere.The pool is large with a spacious shallower area where our young children can spend hours every day. played. We also enjoyed a variety of vegetables obtained from the vegetable garden. You can see bulls and cork trees along the access road. The reservoir also belongs to the very well-maintained estate of the friendly owners Joke and Dick. Inside the house are authentic Portuguese elements such as the tiles in the bathroom. In addition to the wonderful stay at the accommodation and Montemor-O-Novo, we also went to the historic towns of Evora and Sebutal. Lisbon is an hour away. In short, we really enjoyed this ideal Portuguese vacation spot.

And during the week we are involved in activities such as livestock auction, vet but you can also go by jeep across the country, cycling in the area (own bikes along) From the apartment, you dive into the pool right next to the apartments in.Doordat another lie, it is important to take a little consideration for your neighbors.

It was difficult to find via a long dirt road through a cork tree plantation. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. With temperatures ranging from 35 to 42 degrees with sunshine, the pool was wonderfully refreshing. The bottom of the pool was very rough blisters which yielded some feet. Self-dissolved with water shoes. We have informed the owner who indicated to look for a solution.

We drove a few minutes on a dirt road (fairly well maintained) by a stunning backdrop of cork oaks to then arrive at the very pittoreskeHerdade da Giblaciera. We've got great gerelaxed the pool and enjoyed the spectacular view from our shaded terras.In near Evora found very worth to visit and we are also a couple of times.

We have a wonderful holiday celebrated in this fun holiday. The location is secluded and quiet. The pool is beautiful and also views. The owner of the house creates a friendly atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and they are an ideal source of information. The area has a lot to see. Portugal has already stolen our hearts again.

Apartment where the stay was very pleasant. Stylishly renovated with sustainable, beautiful materials, dishwasher in kitchen. Beautiful location in the hills of the Alentejo with cork trees, cows and sheep, from apartment view and use of large, clean pool. Small faults were quickly corrected by owners. Pleasant atmosphere with owners and fellow vacationers at the "farm". No music etc.

In the beautifully situated Herdade Joke and Dick live in your own oasis. The wonderful pool dares you to cool off from continuous delicious. The house offers plenty of shady spots for when the sun gets just too much.
