The cottage is charming, very spacious for 2 people, quietly located and is a good base for exploring the area.
Nice history too and once decorated with pleasure. It's a shame that over time things have broken and not been repaired. Such as: the CD player. Pull out the door handle of the kitchen door. Extractor hood does not suck when you turn it on. The batteries of the remote controls are also missing or have run out. Does the dishwashing brush need to be replaced? Etc. Little things that make it seem like the owner doesn't really care. Furthermore, one of the duvet covers smelled of skin oil and not detergent, which made us wonder whether it was clean. Tip:
Give a brief explanation of the TV and receiver about how they work.

The cottage (a rebuilt pawnshop, originally 1900) comfortably (we were two). Nicely renovated and furnished. Special is that it actually has two chambers one house with the kitchen as a kind of sliding cabinet and dining table, the other with a sofa and TV toestel.Keukengerei is somewhat limited, a casserole would e.g. be welcome. Microwave particularly awkward high geplaatst. In the village, so shop directly at. Or to spot road to national highway. That gives traffic. Also there is quite a lot inkijk.Sleutelkluis handig.Direct to park Lauwersmeer and Reitdiep, excellent for countless trips, enjoyed by both nature and the villages and kerkjes.Wij.

I had telephoned the Groninger Landschap shortly before the arrival and they told us exactly where the key safe can be found. The house is very nice, very attractive and for four people fully equipped. Two spacious rooms with cool sofas, we were 3 and we felt right at home. I like cooking and (OK, I had brought my own knives as usual) was positively surprised about the pans (and wok!) And the induction plate. What would make it even better is some more lighting in the kitchen. is a lot to discover - starting at the Restaurant De Oude Sluis opposite Sytze and Famke really know what good cooking is, but of course also the whole wadden region with Lauwersmeer and Schiermonnikoog. Also we went to Groningen for a day. the amount of traffic directly past the house, which I did not expect after consulting the map on Google maps From early in the morning till late at night everything is passing trucks (lots !!), buses, tractors, mowers , passenger cars where many drives as if his life depends on it.

The house and the surroundings were very nice. Because the house is free we could listen to music and be loud without it disturbing anyone. A small garden belongs to the house, but the public is visible. We would have liked a bit more privacy. There is no on-site parking, we had to search or park at the neighbors, this parking is separated by a fence of land. Nearby (5 minutes walk) there is a boat rental and many possibilities to go with it. It is a pity that we did not find a beach, except one in a campsite 20 minutes away by car.

It was played very much out at Lime Kiln Tower. The village and the small port is also very nice, directly behind the dike, there is also a hidden Aussichtsturm.Zum Baden we then also even found three small beaches near the Lauwers Sea near Lauwersoog. We spent a week in this beautiful house and very comfortable gefühlt- It is very nicely furnished and it's all there, what you need for living and cooking, there is even a washing machine. The stairs to the top, however, is very steep, although there is an above guard, but not down, so I would not recommend staying with young children, if they can not safely climb stairs. The house is very clean and well maintained, the box spring beds very comfortable. The garden is located on a street, the area is fenced but there is no goal. There is a table with benches in the outdoor area, which can not be moved and no umbrella was available, so we could not sit outside during the day.

Simple, modern decor in comfortable facilities available. Everything is bright, friendly and convenient. We had two adults and three children aged 10-12 years, a really great week in the small, charming town. Seal sanctuary, bike rental or canoe trip corresponded to our desire for quiet holiday in real atmosphere. The plan worked, and our kids played hide, enjoyed it to build sand castles and explore on your own the small city by bike.

The cottage has a lot of charm. The equipment is quite adequate, but an oven would be very pleasant. The negative side is unfortunately the noise. From 06:30 clock you have the feeling that the trucks and other vehicles drive through the bedroom. It was not possible to sleep with the windows open. A barbecue would be nice too. A beautiful house with all amenities (except dishwasher) in a very nice fishing village in a beautiful and photogenic environment. The cottage is a real eye-catcher in the village. There is more than enough to do, see and experience in the area. Such as the Tea Factory in Houwerzijl (delicious high tea), a day trip to Schiermonnikoog, the seals in Pieterburen, the city of Groningen, but also the cozy Frisian town of Dokkum is very doable. Cyclists and walkers can indulge themselves. The locals are very friendly, you can quickly get in touch for a chat. The local bakery is highly recommended! All in all, very worth it :). Our week has flown by.
